āSuch an unfortunate thing, really. We were definitely the most eligible royals prior to this entire circus. Guess people will just have to make due with the others now,ā Rikke said with a solemn tone, and ātskā to sell it. As Grace spoke about Elena, Rikke began to feel a familiar feeling starting to grow in the pit of her stomach. It was the same feeling that would grow whenever sheād spend time around Henrikke and Audrey after that one nightā¦But this was different right? Sheād barely had one conversation with Elena, and itās not like she knew that Elena was her best friendās fiancĆ©e at the time. There was no reason for her to feel thisā¦thisā¦this guilt. All Rikke could trust herself to do was nod, and agree with Grace. After all, it wasnāt like anything she said was lie either. āOh yeah, they have all sorts of weird sayings and now with like social media being a thing, they just keep getting weirder,ā She said, more than grateful for the change in topic. āAll things considered, I think I lucked out in winding up in Denmark, and itās recently come to my attention that I lose sight of that sometimes,ā Rikke said, the briefest of flashbacks to her conversation with the Princess of Cuba. āIf weāre talking symbiotic, youāre obviously Eddie and Iām clearly Venom,ā she said with confidence. At Graceās last words, her smile softened and she reached out a hand to latch onto her friendās. āAnd you have no idea how grateful I am to have made the cut.ā
āPeople would have been lining up to marry us. Like, who are we kidding!ā Grace laughed. Of course, the princess considered herself the opposite of eligible and was sure her father did too- she was shocked that he had lined up a crown princess for her,Ā āMaybe thatās another reason why we should just get married.ā She scoffed then,Ā āAmerica is wild. Iāve only been once and I donāt soon want to return.ā She smiled at Rikke,Ā āDenmark is pretty solid- though, it has nothing on South Africa, but, then again, who could compete? First reason being, it birthed me.ā She teased. And Grace did love her country, she just hated how her father ruled it,Ā āIām glad you compared me to the human and not the alien. Though, it says a lot about how you view yourself. Which we should probably talk about, but emotions are hard.ā She joked, because she hoped Rikke knew that if she did need to talk about anything then she was there for her. Always. She squeezed her hand,Ā āThis... lifestyle would be a hundred times worse if I didn't have you. Itās nice knowing we have each other.ā Grace didn't form strong friendships easily, which made her especially thankful for the other princess. It made it all a little bit easier.Ā
