(Boise, Idaho) Meet Austin and Charlene, who need a new, loving home! They are a bonded pair, neutered and spayed. Austin chose Charlene when he was less than a year old and she was about a year. They have been together now for 6 years.
Austin is mischievous and silly and loves to get a laugh. He likes to toss his toys, by himself, or with his human, to dig at his rugs or bedding. He will lie in wait for his person, hoping for a long petting session when they come by. Austin would thrive in a home with lots of attention. He does better where someone works from home, is retired or doesn't work at all. He does not like having his person gone all day 5 days a week.
Charlene is a very particular little girl with a big attitude for such a tiny little rabbit. She adores Austin. She likes to be rubbed on top of her head…only! If she is afraid or disturbed…likely by something you can't see…she will stomp her little foot. Academic brown noise will calm her down if she keeps it up. Occasionally she will do a binky if she has lots of room and is very happy. She especially likes to do this right after her bed is changed or her area is cleaned. She will come by and nose bump her person's shoe several times a day, then run away before petting can take place. She will wander around the room's perimeters as if she's a little guard, checking everything out.
They both enjoy chewing the bark off of sticks, fresh willow toys, meadow sticks and other natural toys. They both will spend time snoozing in the sun, cuddling and doing mutual grooming. They need a person who respects their need to keep their feet on the ground! Neither likes to be picked up. They are both litter box trained, and trained to a spray of water if doing something they shouldn't do. Charlene is more obstinate than Austin.
Austin had bladder sludge, when he was about 2 years old. He is on a strict low calcium diet---cilantro is his favorite food. He can also eat celery, arugula, red pepper, cucumber, and a few other things. Charlene eats the same diet as Austin. They are both long haired rabbits and must be groomed about every 3 weeks. Charlene enjoys being told how pretty and soft she is and doesn't mind having her silky ears rubbed a little bit now and then. Charlene does not have any medical conditions, but she snores when she sleeps!
