Side note: I’m still spinning from seeing the incredible @destroyer_band last week. I got out with a couple of good friends. Had a laugh. Stood behind tall boys as usual. Scanned the crowd for an old pal who I will never find. . Music is an incredible time machine. Destroyer transports me to Vancouver every time I hear it. Everything about it. Words. Sounds. It all makes me physically feel like I am in Vancouver. Strangest thing. Been playing Destroyer records a lot since then... which is to say, as usual. . I read that Destroyer has decided to cancel some shows as precaution for the greater good of the fans and the band. I was very lucky to see them again recently. Looking forward to the next time. . Side Post: went to see the super terrific @eleanoronly last night at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern. She was kind enough to sign the record I picked up with a little dedication to my best pal Al. I first saw Eleanor with her band The Fiery Furnaces and was immediately in love with their sound. I’m reminded that I choose records over mp3s on account mp3s have a hard time printing lyrics and liner notes. Now I can sing along in my studio! Flashback to this little MG Midget I painted for a client who happened to be my best friends sister in high school. She had me paint this for her fella, who’s father had owned this beautiful sports car. One of my favourites back stories - the owner had the car restored and someone misspelled the word ‘Midget’ when replacing the decal.
