Im really getting into yumeship/selfship so i would like to just dumb-write about it 'cause i have and OCxCanon and their relationship blahblahblah im cringeee
Kay sooo, when 3Below premiere on Netflix in 2018 i was just a child and i fell in love with Krel at first sight xddd I麓ve always used to do this thing where i created oc's just to ship them with the characters i liked back then, but then i discovered the term "selfshipping" when i was younger and, haha, i was a edgy teenager back then when i found out about it and i used to think stuff like "This is dumb and cringe!" but right now, im just trying to have fun with my hability to make art, even if i end up being "cringe". I still find some of my interest kinda embarassing and stuff but, idk, I'm just trying to reclaim the joy I didn't make the most of when I was younger :p Soooo, enough context, im going to talk about my oc and his relationship with Krel Tarron rn :D Sam Umbenhower
I think about Sam participating in Trollhunters, 3Below and Rise of the Titans (he is not very present in Wizards). In his early appearances in Trollhunters, he came across as just another supporting character; he didn't particularly like Jim Lake, annoyed by his status as the quintessential "perfect guy." However, upon discovering Jim's secrets as the Trollhunter and the hidden world existing right under Arcadia's nose, he grew closer to the group鈥擩im, Tobs, and Clara. Given the distinctive weapons of each group member (Jim with his sword, Toby with the hammer, and Clara with her staff), I think Sam would use a magical shield鈥攃hosen by Blinky, of course.
The Shield I imagine a pink magic shield. Its magical properties would be: 1. Weight change: it can be light for the wielder or heavy when thrown (think of Captain America's fighting style xd). 2. Size change: it would be useful for protecting large groups or creating a kind of protective dome. 3. Rotational abilities: think of using the shield like an angle grinder. [While writing this, I noticed similarities with Rose Quartz's shield; it's a good example xd] When Sam saw that the others had cool, powerful weapons, he underestimated what Blinky had chosen for him鈥攁 silly pink shield seemed boring鈥攂ut Blinky knew it was the best choice; in the end, he actually liked it, lol. In 3Below In 3Below, the relevant humans are Toby Domzalski, Eli Pepperjack, and Steve Palchuk (and in this case, Sam Umbenhower); they are primarily supporting characters without much of a leading role (And I'm going to start talking about the relationship Sam develops with Krel now, hehe.) Of course, the main plot isn't abour romance or stuff like that, with the exception of Aja with Steve, so this topic is something that takes a back seat. As everyone else in Arcadia Oaks High, he found the presence of the Tarron siblings strange鈥攖hey were weirdos鈥攂ut Sam was also a bit of a weirdo in his own way, just like his group of friends at this point in the trilogy. That made him interested in them, especially Krel Tarron, since they were both Latino鈥攚ell, Krel鈥檚 was actually a disguise, but how was Sam supposed to know that? "Finally, someone to speak spanish with" He thought
Krel struggled with making friends, unlike his sister Aja, but the extroverted personality of Sam, Toby and Eli practically forced Krel to be friends. Krel had a strong interest in human music; therefore, Sam鈥攚ho was musically knowledgeable鈥攖aught him to play the guitar, and that was his excuse to get closer to him.
In addition to music, Sam knew quite a bit about automotive mechanics thanks to his dad; when he learned of Krel's true identity and his remarkable knowledge of technology and engineering, he felt it was yet another thing they had in common鈥攈e enjoyed watching him work, even if he didn't fully understand what he was doing.
Ultimately, Sam considered Krel his best friend鈥攅ven if he wasn't sure Krel felt the same way鈥攂ut regardless, they remained very close. When Krel had the chance to return to Akiridion-5 with his sister and Varvatos, Sam felt a mix of happiness and sadness: his best friend had finally achieved what he had strived for with such effort, yet it meant never seeing him again鈥攍osing the one person with whom he shared such a deep, close bond. However, Krel decided to stay, and the group of friends remained together and happy :p
I know the whole point of self-shipping is precisely for it to turn into a romantic relationship, but I still feel a bit shy and embarrassed about it, haha. Even so, I feel like the relationship between them is like a very deep and intimate friendship鈥攖hough who knows, maybe they steal a few kisses now and then. O///o JK
I know this must be veeery long and probably nobody would read this and maybe kinda cringey, but idk, im really having fun with this stuff and i feel like im making happy little me. All TOA makes me feel nostalgic and doing this cringey stuff is super fun actually, everybody should be cringe :9
