No questions, just need you to know that this is the first time I’ve come across your art and you’ve fully converted me to Ryoshu/Hong Lu. Like, I always knew it was a ship but the way you draw their dynamic makes me violently giggle and kick my feet. So thank you for opening my eyes
im so glad you like them through my visions :) its always the highest praise that people get to ship them through my stuff. unfortunately this acc isnt up to date but im active on x/twt (naansougi) for more recent drawings if youre interested!

A small analysis on Hong Lu's Story as a Metaphor for SA/CSA
I’d like to preface this with if I come off as insensitive or offensive, I sincerely apologize. I'll delete this if need be. Feel free to correct me on anything. Of course, feel free to disagree as well. This is just my own reading into the story. It's not supposed to be "the canon or right" way of interpreting it.
I'm fully aware that this could be entirely unintentional on PM's part, but the beauty of stories is finding your own interpretation of the words gifted to you. Please be civil!
If you find yourself feeling unwell while reading through this, please close out for your own mental safety.
Such a good analysis of this all, that only serves to make this moment all the more horrifying.
To add on to @vantabone's original idea, this is part of why the ending of part 2 is so impactful.
Hong Lu is shown throughout the Canto to keep receiving the same treatment from most of his family. "Jia Huan" believes he's useless and deserves nothing, most of his siblings and companions in Hongyuan all believe he grew up with no downsides, and even his own father begs him not to participate in the Hierach Evaluation with the same "our precious" language Lu hears from Jia Mu.
Which is why the encounter with Jia Qiu is so impactful. Not only does he concern himself primarily with Hong Lu's own thoughts and feelings, but he understands that this was an abused child who had no say in anything.
He understands that he can expect Hong Lu to hold an answer for his question, especially because he's seen it from the kindness he's shown others, but that Hong Lu isn't going to open up easily when it's shown that every other time he does has led to massive downsides like his friends and family being murdered or turned against him.
It's why he's so patient during the final fight. He knows that Hong Lu is terrified of the people around him suffering for speaking what's in his heart, but also knows it NEEDS to be said if Hong Lu is going to ever heal.
There's a reason the joke is that this isn't a fight, it's a therapy session. Because some of the techniques and methods he uses can relate directly back to actual therapist techniques when dealing with abuse victims. Obviously therapists don't actually beat you with their manifested minds, but the rest of Jia Qiu's words line up really well.
One of the things that I can think of off the top of my head is his follow up comment when Hong Lu does finally give his answer of kindness. It's meant to intentionally dig in further to this answer, and ground Hong Lu in this truth that he's been burying for years. To get him to reaffirm his own beliefs that Hongyuang DOES need the kindness he is thinking of.
Challenging negative thoughts and reaffirming positive ones is something therapists actually recommend for people with this nihilism, which makes Jia Qiu all the more wise for his specific word choice and usage.
Overall, it's such a touching moment that Jia Qiu gives Hong Lu the complete space to explore his feelings about himself and the abuse he went through, because that's what he needs most; to be able to explore and crawl out of that shell.
scratches head. should i repost all my ryls here its Been A While
