If anyone else had been standing there talking Alex’s ear off after such a long and grueling practice, Alex would probably be pretty likely to hit them just to make them shut up - including his sister or his best friend. But because it was Cody, he was perfectly content to listen to him babble, especially because Alex found his constant state of excitement to be absolutely adorable. “Yeah, you’re definitely a keeper,” Alex truthfully agreed, chuckling. “And you’re definitely very, very cute,” he added, stopping momentarily to give Cody a kiss. Alex was feeling better from his practice already.

"Hmm, let me think about that for a moment…" Alex said, pretending to mull over his choices. "Nah. I love you, but I need to end this year with a bang," he grinned, slipping an arm around Cody’s waist and pulling him close, chuckling when Cody went on to lick his neck. "No matter how many evil eyes you may get, they know not to mess with you or else they have to deal with me. Your dorm sounds fine to me, though," Alex agreed. "But I know that you’re trying to fatten me up and slow me down with those chocolates," he added with a smirk.

"Aw, good because I don't want you tiring of me someday. I'd be a very sad little badger without you." Although Cody was teasing, he still felt an ache in his heart at the thought of losing Alex. He was aware that Alex was much too good for him and had been told that by various spiteful Slytherin girls that had been after Alex for quite some time. Cody smiled almost shyly as Alex paused to confirm that he was in fact, very cute. He kissed him back, smiling all the way to the castle because yeah- he had the most amazing boyfriend ever.

"Oh, you'll end it with a bang... don't you worry." Cody gave him an angelic look, wide eyed and innocent, when really he was anything but. "I think you'd be adorable if you got a little chubby. You'd be my teddy bear." Cody teased, as they entered the Hufflepuff common room. There weren't too many students in as most of them were out enjoying the night before curfew. "I'd ask you to carry me up to my room like a damsel in distress, but I'll let you slide this time, since you know- you were at practice." He grinned, leading his boyfriend up to his dorm room that he shared with two other Hufflepuff students. One had a girlfriend he spent his nights with and Cody couldn't remember when the last time was that he'd seen him. He hoped he was still alive or whatnot. His other roommate was not in either. Plopping himself down on his bed, he made grabby hands for his boyfriend to join him.

Luck seemed to be on Alex’s side tonight as he practically ran in to his boyfriend when he was coming out of the locker room. And he probably would’ve mown right into him had Cody’s adorableness hadn’t pulled him out of his dazed stupor. He could definitely force himself to stay awake for a while longer if he was next to Cody, that was for sure. “Just who I was about to go looking for,” Alex said with a small chuckle, hugging Cody back and giving him a kiss. He was almost surprised to see him there, but the two of them knew each other’s schedules like their own.

Alex had never really seen himself as someone that wanted to settle down in any sense of the word. His plans had always just been to play Quidditch, travel the world, and meet as many girls as he could. That was until he started spending so much time with the younger one thanks to him being his sister’s best friend, and he realized just how cute Cody was. And just like that, part of his plan had changed - he still planned on playing Quidditch, but there was only one person that he wanted to be with.

"They’re not babies, and I’m not trying to kill them. Just make us better so that we can clobber your team," Alex teased. "I am exhausted, so a night of cuddling with my sloth boyfriend sounds perfect," he chuckled, kissing the top of Cody’s head. "Your dorm or mine?" Alex asked, knowing that it didn’t really matter considering they both had some clothes at the other’s dorm, just for convenience on nights like this.

Cody grinned happily, "Aw, you were gonna come looking for me?" He kissed his boyfriend back. "I'm the better finder. I should have been a seeker, but instead I chose to be a keeper. I am a keeper, right baby?" Cody winked, laughing in the other male's arm at his lame joke. "It's okay, I know I'm lame, but I'm still cute." He shrugged, still grinning happily. Cody was usually a very cheerful person, but Alex always made him so much happier.

"Can't you at least just give us one game?" He playfully shoved against Alex's chest. "Well good because I'm feeling awfully lazy and just want to cuddle you like a kitten." He nuzzled Alex's neck and licked it much like a cat would do. "Mine. The Slytherins always give me the evil eye. It's not my fault I cramp their grumpy style with my all around adorableness." He took his boyfriend's hand and led them towards the castle. "Plus I have a stash of chocolates." He grinned happily as they made it into the castle.

With the Quidditch House Cup quickly approaching along with the end of the school year, Alex was pushing his team harder and harder with each and every practice. It wasn’t just the other players that he was pushing either, but himself as well to the point that even he was exhausted by the end of practice, which was almost always elongated by him urging them to try a play just one more time and having it turn in to about five more times. Honestly, Alex was pretty shocked that he hadn’t been impeached by his teammates, or that he even managed to still have friends on the team with how hard he worked them. He was certain that it would be worth it by the final game - which would be his last with Slytherin.

Alex trudged to the locker room after he’d gotten everyone else off the field and had gotten all of the practice equipment put away. By then, most of the showers were open, but probably lacking hot water, though a cold shower really wouldn’t be too bad after the workout he’d gotten from practice. By the time he’d showered, there were only a few people left in the locker room and he changed in sort of a sluggish daze, unable to wait until he could curl in to bed and fall asleep, though that probably wouldn’t happen for a while. Alex planned on finding his boyfriend and enlisting him for some much appreciated cuddling. Sure, Alex didn’t really seem like the type to cuddle, but he loved it just as much as anyone else - and the idea of it seemed even better than being able to sleep, and he trudged towards the castle with the thought in mind.

Cody yawned and gave an exaggerated stretch, peeking an eye at the professor he was helping grade papers for. His eyes were tired from trying to make out what the first years in his class had written and he hoped the professor took the hint and thanked him for his help. And of course, he got his way. The professor thanked him for his hard work and signed Cody up to be a tutor- which hey, he didn't agree to that. But he could not and would not say no. Besides, it was Herbology. One of his best subjects. He left the greenhouse and checked the time before picking up the pace. If he hurried, he'd catch Alex after quidditch practice.

Hufflepuff practiced on Sundays and Thursdays, but they never lasted as long as the Slytherins. Rounding a corner, he narrowly missed a flock of Ravenclaw girls. "Sorry, sorry." He muttered apologies as he continued towards the entrance of the castle. Once outside, he slowed his pace and made his way towards the Quidditch locker rooms. He got there just as his boyfriend was coming out, hair wet and looking exhausted- yet still ridiculously hot. That's when he spotted some of his team mates walking out, looking even more exhausted.

"Either they're big babies or you're trying to kill your team so that your amazing boyfriend's house can win a couple games." He teased, nearing Alex and wrapping him in a tight hug. "You look so tired, babe. Lucky for you, I'm a complete sloth who just wants to stay in and cuddle his boyfriend tonight." He looked up at Alex, scrunching his nose because Alex totally thought his facial expressions were cute.
