um actually i live in a world where everyone chooses regulus. in fact they're all scratching and clawing to be the one to choose him before anyone else can. they all want to pick him over anyone else so bad that they're willing to pitch each other off cliffs and sacrifice all those that stand in their way. they have a deathmatch, a last one standing, a gladiator style battle to see which of them is the one to choose him first and better than everyone else, that's how desperate they all are. and they all tear each other to shreds for this honor of willingly placing a metric scale on everyone they care about and putting regulus at the tippy top above anyone else, so then they all end up killing each other until no one's left and regulus is alone bc even when he wins he loses
