run, by snow patrol — different first meeting au, neil does parkour and has partial prosopagnosia, pairings: andreil and mentions of background canon ships, wc: 88k+
every breath you take — canon compliant(ish), post tkm, neil starts a stalker binder/junk journal about andrew, pairings: andreil and mentions of background canon ships, wc: 19k+
summary:
Family has always been a complicated thing for Aaron and Andrew, but when it comes to sorting their shit out, they've barely even begun. Despite it all, they don't have it within them to stop trying, though.
Turns out, they get that from their father.
(Or: Andrew and Aaron's senior year looks promising for the leaps and bounds made in brotherhood. Enter their dad, stage left.)

faq:
can i bookbind your fanfiction?
for personal and non-profit use only
can i bookbind your fanfiction and give it as a gift?
yes, as long as there's no profit involved
can i share the typeset i created/the typesets i see for your fanfiction?
id ask that you don't share it publicly, only personally, and only in the instance that you can be certain the person you're sharing it with won't use it for profitable means; if you're not certain or you don't know the person you wish to share it with, please don't
can i repost/reupload your fanfiction on any other platform, such as wattpad etc?
no, never reupload or repost my fics anywhere
can i add your fanfiction to things such as goodreads?
no. im aware they're already there. i wish they weren't
can i translate your fanfiction into a different language?
please check to see if there's already a translation before you do, but if there isn't, then i don't mind as long as it's on ao3 only, with credits/links back to the original fanfic. i also lock my fics so they're only accessible for registered ao3 users, so any translations would need to be locked as well.
can i create a podfic for your fanfiction?
yes, with credits/links back to the original fanfic
can i create fanart/fanedits/cosplays/music etc based on your fanfiction?
yes, go for it! have fun and feel free to send me what you create!
can i create fanfiction of your fanfiction (aus of what you've written, or things just set in the universes you've made)?
as long as it's on ao3 with credits/links back to the original fic, then yes, go for it! have fun and feel free to send me what you create!
i have an idea similar to one of your fanfics, or i've been inspired by something you've written; is that okay with you?
that's more than okay with me! i don't own anything or any ideas, and you don't need my permission to write whatever you want! if you want to give credit, that's perfectly okay, but i won't mind if you don't. unless it's my fics copied word-for-word, i don't mind
i think someone has plagiarized your fics, how can i tell you/what should i do?
if it's not copied word-for-word, to be honest, i really don't care. similar writing/similar ideas isn't something i consider plagiarism, personally. if it is copied word-for-word, then you can send me an ask to let me know, and ill go from there
ive found someone selling your fanfiction, what can i do?
i—and many other writers—have done as much as we can to prevent this from happening, but some people don't care. if you come across it, you can report it/the people selling it to hopefully get it taken down. if you're letting me know, please do so off anon in my asks and with a link, or i may assume it's disingenuous, thank you
do you intend to finish all your WIPs?
i would like to, and i certainly intend to, but i will also be following my muse wherever it takes me
ik i rant about the wymack stuff a lot but god it is rough
Neil outright admits he stole Kayleigh's letter and has had it for MONTHS without Kevin knowing. Like, one of the only personal things he has of hers has been at Palmetto this whole time and now is being used against him.
And Neil outs this in front of the entire team and Neil explicitly switches to English saying that Kevin is going to go public about who his father is putting Kevin on the spot while he's actively telling Neil no.
(And this is after Kevin kept Neil's own secret for months on his behalf and literally just got choked out over it)
And like, Neil is right! The identity of who Kevin's father is has been a media spectacle since Kevin was born...because Kayleigh in her lifetime never wanted revealed. Like, Kevin would be outing something his mother never wanted to be public knowledge for several reasons.
The text validates that this is the right choice because Wymack is owed this information and it is "long past" when Kevin should have told him which feels so unfair. Kevin has no idea how Wymack would have taken the news that he was his father (canonically he doesn't take it well) and is literally on the run from his mob cult who wants him dead. If he miscalculated then he could be screwed.
And like, idk, I think if you want anyone to blame maybe it should be Kayleigh? Not Kevin who had no say in his mother's choice to hide it or his parents hooking up in the first place?
I think the worst part is when Neil tells the Foxes and shows far more empathy for their reaction to Coach being Kevin's father than for Kevin himself...and Kevin is doing this FOR NEIL.
And like I get it. Neil is a survivalist who would see this as something to use but the narrative and the Foxes at large all seem to agree this is for the best. That Kevin has deeply wronged Wymack by not telling him. And like...you're telling me none of the Foxes would understand Kevin and his daddy issues? The daddy issues team?
I've really loved seeing the discussion and points some people have brought up in their tags and replies to this. I wanted to follow up and write some more nuanced thoughts!
TLDR while I understand that these character reactions are not necessarily out of character, it is just an overall miserable read with little to no comfort which is a sentiment people seem to agree with.
I 100% get why Neil steals the letter and why he pressures Kevin to out his parentage. Especially fresh off Baltimore & still deep in his own survivalist mindset. Neil is capable of being callous when he needs to be and at this point in the narrative, is running on fumes and trying to find anything to secure his and the team's safety. He is reacting purely out of survival and nothing else. To him, Kevin outing Wymack is inevitable so why not use it now when it can do a "net good" for the team / Neil? I think this is an important part of Neil's character and we see similar reactions from him when his back is against a wall. I still think it is crazy though to steal someone's dead mom's letter and hide it for months Just In Case it came up like.
Kevin is not close to the Foxes the way Neil is so of course they react like that. Kevin very purposefully keeps his distance from them. They are much closer to and love Wymack and they idolize him as a father figure so of course their instinct is to worry about him. If they were in Kevin's shoes they would jump at the chance to have someone like him as a bio father. It just feels....weird (bad) to fixate so heavily on this while Kevin is literally downstairs crying over how bad it went.
All this to say while I get the why it shakes out this way. It just still reads as a pretty miserable experience. We also never really follow up on it and Kevin just spends the rest of the novel vaguely sad before he gets hammered enough to cover his tattoo and beat Riko at Exy.
And then Riko dies and he is devastated again sleeping on Wymack's couch.
Ok this is my rough thoughts and ideas thank you for reading.
i just looked up how to label a group of butterflies so i could describe a character getting flutters and learned they can be called a kaleidescope. don't ever let anyone tell you writing fanfiction isn't a worthy or beautiful hobby
having completely opposing headcanons at the same time is important for the diversity of the fandom ecosystem. yes I believe this would happen. but I also don’t. hope this helps
i hope fic writers were taking notes on the first game in the pwhl cup final 🏒🏳️🌈✍️ the gayest team in the leagueTM is down by 1 with 18 seconds left. the normally stoic alternate captain laura stacey falls to the ice screaming clutching her knee after a hit into the boards. captain marie-philip poulin, her wife, waves over medics. they snap her knee back into place while stacey screams in pain. poulin helps her off the ice. play resumes and poulin assists a game-tying goal in the last TWO FREAKING SECONDS. immediately returns to the bench to ask about her wife. regulation ends, and by the time overtime starts 20 minutes later, stacey has rallied and leads the team back out onto the ice. the gayest team in the leagueTM wins in overtime.
