20's F, new to this whole cardiophile thing - always thought I was just a weirdo, happy to discover I'm not alone! Blog will likely be filled with heartbeats, romantic cuddles and those kind of posts that are so intimate and sweet they kinda hurt.

How did you do it?

I'm about to be in the same position (i.e. he now knows vaguely about it thanks to a buzzed midnight conversation) but he says he wants to know... more. and I don't know how to say more. I can barely even say the dang word!

I'm on the intimate/"sweet" side of all this (don't know if there's a proper term or not lol), as in no dark side, gore all that nope. Just very into the vulnerability/trust aspect, I suppose... and like many others here I've had the interest since basically since birth, definitely at least since kindergarten. And I have been hiding since... well, basically since then :') but obviously didn't become anything potentially sexual until after puberty, and still doesn't have to be. Oftentimes it can just be almost painfully intimate/vulnerable, like about connection... but again, I've never discussed any of this with anyone IRL before, and now apparently I need to figure out how to do so like STAT.

So for a tl;dr, those of you who have either told your significant others or close friends about this particular interest... if you have any tips, I would so very appreciate any and all advice you could offer. :') I buzzedly mentioned it VAGUELY, we talked a very tiny bit about it, and he sent me a (not specifically asked for, but very wanted) recording of his heartbeat after we got off the phone. So that's where I'm at - very happy, somehow even MORE shy, and completely at a loss on how to answer his questions properly, oops.:)

Has anyone ever questioned why we're wired the way we are, or why we find other things interesting compared to how we think the "norm" is for sexual interests? Like hearts for example and having a strong urge to want to listen or feel the heartbeat of someone you love or desire. I've always questioned it. I've always thought I was extremely weird for having such a different interest, so much so I've never even spoken about it to anybody. I've always heard of people being made fun of or ridiculed for similar things; for example someone who likes feet, being tickled or stomach noises or whatever... So keeping that stuff on the down low was a must.

Now I want to share a story of how I found out I was a cardiophile, and it starts when I was a child. I remember when I was a toddler and I barely had any understanding of how life worked or the world in general. I had no idea what kept us alive or anything about the human body or anything of the sort. I always had the desire to be as close to someone as possible, and I used to always lay on my babysitter's chest as a baby and I actually remember hearing her heart beating while I was falling asleep many times on her. Believe it or not, I remember having dreams in those moments and I never knew what it was I was listening to because I was so young, but I was in love with it and never wanted to move from where I was... Listening to a heart. As I got older I began to learn more about what it was and what was drawing me to become fascinated with someone's heartbeat. Now a very important moment around that time that really engraved my interest was when I watched "The Grinch" live action for the first time. I remember watching it to the end and they mention his heart being small many times throughout the movie, so obviously I was locked in watching what was happening. Nearing the end of the movie when the Grinch finally starts trying to save Christmas, there's the scene when his heart finally grows three sizes and you can see it beating out of his chest. From that point forward that cemented my peculiar love for the heart and I hadn't seen anyone's heartbeat like that until much later in life and of course that only further solidified that I was in fact a cardiophile. Now despite all of that, I still kind of retain the same type of love that I did when I was a baby. I don't desire any dark desire for someone's heart. I've always just loved laying my head down and falling asleep to it and the feeling of the beats under my ear. Even though my interest is more on the innocent side I still thought I would feel ashamed if I ever shared that to someone or if they found out.

Oh my god.

The guy I was with tonight (this is my second time hooking up with him) was insane. He kept doing this thing he did last time where he’d put his fingers up to his neck & check his pulse to, as he puts it, “see if he was alive.” And then and then and then he was fingering me (which felt like heaven) while he was spooning me, and he’d speed it up whenever he heard my breathing getting faster. My head was several inches away from his chest, but I could still hear his heart pounding… It was so fucking loud. I was amazed. And so I told him how I could hear how hard his heart was beating for me and he said “Don’t be surprised. You know how my body works.”

This is the sound of my heartbeat right after texting someone I’m really attracted too😅 I decided to record this because as I’m texting back and forth I could feel my heart pounding and waiting for her response. You can see my phone shaking with each powerful beat. I think this is such an amazing thing to hear a heart(my heart) during this interaction. Somehow it actually happened

Never thought in a million years I would both be first brave enough (or drunk enough) to talk about... well if you're here you know what, AND that the person I was talking to would actually be receptive. Never gonna happen!

Throwing my thoughts out to the only void on the internet that I think has a chance of understanding whatever the hell I'm feeling right now.

The thing that's striking me right now is how incredibly chill he was about the entire thing. after I finally managed to spit it out he just freaking LAUGHED! he thought I'd killed someone for how much buildup I'd had. He legitimately couldn't believe that was 'all' I was working up to. He absolutely did NOT understand the fuss I was making and just kept calling it cute which is just... wow

We talked for a bit more about it, but I was the one who kept it short because I could barely form words at this point :') so we talked about other things and got off the phone and I thought that was that. (which of course meant me trying and failing to chill tf out :))

And then 5 minutes later I had an email from him with a file attached. With a little note saying just in case I wanted to hear his heart specifically.

Guys I've known him for almost 10 years at this point... OF COURSE I WANTED TO LISTEN I just didn't wanna be weird so of course that meant I was just mute and said and did nothing back when we lived near each other. We're in different states now, but apparently he was more than willing to fix that little barrier right quick. None of this was anywhere in the realm of what I expected to experience in life and of course there is absolutely no one I can tell IRL so hello now I'm here. I have always been shy shy shy SHY. absolutely no one knows if they know me, at least not really. and I have no idea where anything goes from here. But this was way too intense to sit on alone, so... here we are. Oh. my goodness. I am feeling *things*.

Whenever I tell someone about my fetish, they ask me to explain it.

I mean- I don’t understand it, either. I think I was just born this way.

But, when I’m alone with my own thoughts, it just makes sense. There’s so much to the heart that makes it meaningful to me. As a hopeless romantic, I long for the vulnerability and rawness of another heartbeat.

There’s something so tenacious, yet fragile about the heart. It never stops beating, but it’s safe inside of its cage. It beats harder and faster, but it’s still hidden away from anyone who could notice. Excitement, anxiety, anticipation, fear, arousal… It’s all hidden.

Letting someone feel your heartbeat is so intimate and personal. The heart is probably the most important part of the body, other than the brain. So, of course it would feel nerve wracking to let someone touch it, or listen to it.

What sets the heart apart from the brain is the tangibility of the heart. It can be seen, felt, and heard. To me, the action of listening to a heartbeat is the closest thing someone can get to mind reading. Every thought is translated by a heart that is fast, or slow. Soft, or hard.

Maybe our hearts want to hide for their own safety. They’re just so vulnerable.

Someone can lie, but their heart cannot. The heart can only react. Feeding off of that vulnerability and humiliation by listening to it… Teasing it…

That’s why it excites me so much… 🫀✨💕
