BIO.
she’s asher’s twin sister -- the youngest by 7 minutes.
since it was just the two of them growing up, her twin brother was always her best friend.
she was always the studious type, enjoying school more than most children would admit.
despite her love for academics, she always fit into the popular crowd thanks to her brother.
although she comes from a wealthy family, alana was never the type of girl to let that go to her head.
when asher moved to new orleans for college, alana chose to stay in new york -- making it the first time the twins had been apart in their entire lifetime.
since she’d stayed in new york, alana was home the night that asher came back in search of help with his newfound transition -- which also meant that she too fell victim to her brother’s unknown ripper curse.
unfortunately for alana, she remembers everything about her death.
she never blamed asher though, not once. she knew that he had no control over what he’d become and if anything, she hated herself more for not being able to help him after being cast to the other side.
alana’s still not entirely sure how she’s returned to the land of the living, but her only mission right now is to find her brother and make sure that he’s okay.
( if i come up with anything else, i will update this accordingly -- but in the mean time, feel free to hmu if you wanna plot / write with my resurrected human ! )
❝ No ❞ Trix countered sharply, inhaling an unsteady breath as she watched on through pained hues as Alana put forceful distance between them. ❝ That isn’t your brother. Whatever he is now, isn’t your brother, Lani. ❞
Trix had encountered vampires over the years, but none like Asher. The things she had witnessed haunted her, but none more so than Alana’s death.
It wasn’t the easiest of things to explain, but seeing as Alana had literally returned from the dead, Trix could only assume that she had a rough idea of what kind of creatures lingered in the darkness. ❝ I can feel death all around him. The people he’s hurt, the people he will hurt. That, isn’t your brother. He’s just a vessel for something evil and i’m sorry, I’m so sorry… but you have to trust me. ❞
although alana knew where trix was coming from, that didn’t make the words that she spoke hurt her any less. despite being a vampire, asher would always be her brother and despite what he’d done, alana would always defend him. ❝ he is still my brother. you don’t have to believe it, but i do. ❞
ali listened as trix tried to explain what was going through her head, but the words that her girlfriend spoke only sent a pain coursing through her chest that she didn’t want to feel. ❝ he made a mistake and he hates himself for it every day. ❞ the brunette responded, once again defending her twin. ❝ look -- you see and feel things and i get that and sure they’re probably legit, but there is no one who knows asher better than i do, so you have to believe me when i tell you that’s not him. he’s not a monster, trixie... ❞
Asher sighed softly, not sure what was worse, the idea that he had already lost Alana once, or the idea that he would eventually face losing her again as she began to age, something that he would witness over time. ❝ I … it doesn’t work like that ❞ he countered softly, ❝ we’re not just twins because we look the same age, Al. You’re always going to be my twin, that’s a bond that never goes away. ❞
He was desperate to rid himself of the idea and as Alana spoke of Rebekah, a soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips ❝ she’s gonna love you. How could she not? ❞ Although it hadn’t been something that was openly discussed with him, he could tell that Rebekah had wanted children of her own.
The vampire nodded, knowing that he didn’t have much other choice and so he held out his hand, ❝ i’m not getting out of this am I? ❞ he teased with a soft chuckle before extending his pinkie finger to do a pinkie promise just like they did as kids, ❝ you got it. ❞
since her return, alana had been so excited to reunite with her brother that she hadn’t stopped to think about the fact that she would eventually age and die and he would forever be the way he was now. ❝ i don’t wanna lose you again... ❞ the brunette muttered in a voice that cracked as she spoke. ❝ but it’s gonna happen. ❞
hearing her brother mention that rebekah was going to love her, alana just offered a shrug in response. ❝ you’re both vampires, which means that you have something in common. what reason does she have to like me? i’m just me. ❞
a smirk fell upon alana’s features as her brother extended his hand her direction. ❝ not a chance in hell. ❞ she spoke, shaking her head before wrapping her own pinkie finger around her twin’s. ❝ never thought i’d get the chance to make one of these promises again. ❞
❝ Ramona ❞ the vampire retorted, elegantly holding out her hand towards Alana ❝ now that the formalities are out of the way, why don’t we get you back to your brother? the store can wait. ❞
❝ it’s nice to meet you, ramona. ❞ alana hummed softly, doing her best to offer the other woman a genuine smile as she reached forward to shake her hand. hearing the other’s offer, alana sighed softly and offered a nod of agreement. ❝ do you uh -- know where the mikaelson compound is? ❞
Trix shook her head and her expression was clearly perplexed as she attempted to deny everything that was right in front of her. ❝ I … I don’t understand. ❞ If there was truth to what Alana was telling her, any at all then she could only hope that her sister had returned to.
The sensation of Alana’s palm against her cheek felt unmistakably real and the banshee ran her thumb back and forth against the other’s wrist, as if to further convince herself that she was really there.
As difficult as it was for Trix to admit, there wasn’t much in the realm of death that frightened her anymore, or even shocked her. However and understandably, Alana’s death had. It had almost ruined her. In the moment that Alana began to defend her brother, Trix inhaled a sharp breath as she released Ali’s wrist from her grasp, stating ❝ no ❞ firmly. ❝ Don’t defend him. I know exactly what he is and what he did to you. ❞
The banshee could feel her bottom lip beginning to tremble and her doe eyes stung as tears threatened them, ❝ an accident. Lani. An unexplained accident, is what they tried to say happened. ❞ Her voice continued to tremble, but she fought to regain some composure ❝ you were murdered and he walked away, free to do this again, to somebody else and their family. Don’t defend that. ❞
the confusion that appeared on trix’s face only made alana feel guilty. the last thing she had wanted to do was cause trouble for the brunette, and it seemed like that might be exactly what she was doing. ❝ neither do i, honestly. ❞
from the brief number of times that alana had found herself watching over trix from the other side, she could tell that her death had clearly affected her girlfriend and that only made it that much harder for her to accept that she had been dead. trix’s harsh reaction to her comment about her brother startled alana, causing her to take a step back from the brunette with a concerned expression. ❝ what he is is my brother, trixie. ❞
alana quickly found herself overtaken with a mix of emotions -- pain, seeing the other’s eyes well up with tears, but also frustration, because the other refused to believe that asher wouldn’t have done such a thing on purpose. ❝ you don’t -- he wasn’t -- ❞ alana trailed off, doing her best to put her thoughts into a coherent sentence. ❝ it’s complicated, okay? ❞
❝ I am so not wrong, ❞ Catalina retorts, laughter rising from her chest cavity as she shakes her head. ❝ Okay but he’s not technically an Avenger? I’m talking OG Avenger. Iron Man, Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor Avengers. ❞
❝ you so are. ❞ alana countered confidently. hearing catalina’s comment about original avengers only, alana rolled her eyes. ❝ fine -- thor all the way. ❞
Although rare, Ramona’s maternal instincts did intend to reveal themselves every now and again. However, those instincts were mainly to protect and fiercely so. ❝ What is your name? ❞ she questioned softly, beginning to approach the girl with a concerned expression. ❝ What brought you to New Orleans? ❞
hearing the other’s question about what her name was, alana pondered for a second if she should actually reveal her identity to the woman or not. after a moment on consideration, she finally figured there wasn’t much giving her name could do in terms of harming her. ❝ i’m alana. i’m here because my brother lives here. ❞
Hearing his own twin say the word vampire caught him off guard and he could feel his teeth clench at the sound of the word, before forcing himself to offset the tension. As the conversation progressed, his reluctance for the topic continued to grow and he found himself quick to shake his head. ❝ Of course it doesn’t mean that. We’re never gonna stop being twins, Al. ❞
Despite the forced assurance of his tone, he hadn’t really thought about that before, or at least not until now. ❝ I mean, I don’t think that’s what it means. ❞
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips at Alana’s request to meet Rebekah though and he glanced towards his sister with a soft nod, ❝ I think Bex would really like that. I’d uh… i’d like it too. ❞
He listened carefully to her words, understanding them more than he cared to admit ❝ just … please, don’t bottle it up. I don’t want you feeling alone with … all of this. ❞
it was one of the first time that alana had said the word vampire out loud and it definitely felt odd for her to say -- but it was what asher was, and if she was going to rekindle her bond with her twin brother, she was going to have to accept that. while she appreciated her brother’s quickness to reassure her that they would always be twins, she couldn’t help but feel like he wasn’t fully convinced that was the case. ❝ but how can we be twins if you’re always going to look like this and i’m going to get older? ❞
alana didn’t know what had compelled her to ask to meet rebekah, because the idea of meeting another vampire that wasn’t her brother was incredibly intimidating, but she figured that if the woman had been kind to her brother, maybe she would be kind to her as well? ❝ i uh -- i want her to like me. which is lame, but... ❞
when her brother begged her not to bottle up her emotions and keep them from him, alana nodded hesitantly. she knew that bottling up her emotions would only lead to more problems and those were something she definitely didn’t want. ❝ i won’t if you won’t. you have to be open to talking to me too, you know? ❞
Ramona sighed softly and her gaze narrowed towards the girl knowing that if it was her daughter who seemed this out of sorts, she would want somebody to intervene. The vampire dropped the weight of her frame from one hip to the other as her arms crossed against her chest ❝ get you home? You’re clearly in no state to be running to the store ❞ the vampire countered sharply.
the longer that ramona’s eyes remained on her, the more embarrassed that alana began to feel. she hadn’t realized just how out of it she had been until the other had mentioned it out loud. ❝ home -- right. ❞ alana muttered softly. truth be told, she still wasn’t completely sure where home was.
Trix shook her head within her momentary disbelief and her dark hues pulled away from Alana’s as she attempted to steady her labouring breaths. ❝ How? I don’t … I don’t understand. ❞
The touch of Alana’s skin against her own was just as inviting as she had always remembered it being, but still she couldn’t quite comprehend what was happening. ❝ No. No, people don’t just… come back. That isn’t …. that isn’t how this works. ❞
Perhaps there was a part of her that was fearful of Alana, but she was doing her best to overcome that as she desperately fought to regain some control over her emotions. Everything that she had understood about death had seemed so clear to her. It was the one constant in her life, albeit unfortunately. That was until now of course.
Her stomach tightened as Alana questioned what Trix had meant by her words, as still she refrained from releasing her wrist. In her mind she could see so clearly that Alana was telling the truth and she had in fact been dead, but had since returned. ❝ I saw what happened. I saw who did this to you. ❞
alana wasn’t the least bit surprised by trix’s reaction to her resurrection, given it was the same one that she herself had produced after her return. ❝ magic, apparently. something about a spell that brings back the dead -- or at least that’s how i understood it. ❞
while she knew that she should probably pull her hand away from trix’s cheek, alana couldn’t bring herself to actually do so and instead just let her palm linger against the other woman’s skin. ❝ i guess there’s a first time for everything. ❞
the other’s comment about having seen her death was something that caught alana off guard and had her stomach twisting in knots. her death had been a rather horrific and traumatizing one, so the thought of trix having seen the whole thing wasn’t one that ali wanted to entertain. hearing the other’s comment about who had killed her, alana let a heavy sigh fall from her lips. ❝ i know what it looks like, but that wasn’t him. ❞
❝ This whole other world is… slightly insane? ❞ Asher added hesitantly, before inhaling a sharp breath. ❝ Everything that you’d think couldn’t exist… does and it’s taken me this long to get my head around even half of it. Never mind actually… being something from it. ❞
An unsteady breath eased from his lips as he eventually lowered his hand from his twins shoulder, but kept his other holding hers. ❝ She has… without her, I … ❞ Asher shook his head, before clearing his throat. ❝ Honestly, I don’t know what would have happened if her and Marcel didn’t find me. ❞
Ali’s faltering smile hadn’t gone unnoticed and Asher’s expression matched his twins as he sighed softly, yet sadly. ❝ I get it. Or at least, I get it as much as I can… you know? I just I need you to know that i’m here for you, Al. Whatever you need, you can talk to me about anything. Just like we used to. ❞
❝ says the vampire. ❞ the brunette hummed softly, her voice slightly taunting. it was still a struggle for alana to process just what her brother was, but she was doing her best to be open to the idea of him being supernatural. ❝ it’s weird, you know? our whole lives we have so much in common. now you’re a vampire and i’m a human. ❞ the second that her words actually registered in her own head, alana’s eyes grew wide. ❝ wait -- does that mean we aren’t twins anymore!? ❞
ali listened as asher talked about rebekah and the help that she’d provided for him and despite not really knowing this woman, she felt eternally grateful to her for looking after her brother. ❝ can i meet them? ❞
when her brother promised that he was there to listen to her feelings, alana just nodded softly in response. ❝ if i can find a way to put everything going on in my head into words, i will talk to you about it. i promise. ❞
Ramona’s brow piqued within interest and her gaze narrowed towards Alana, not quite believing the girl for some reason. ❝ Hm, so why don’t you call him? ❞ The vampire studied Alana for a little longer before inhaling a soft breath ❝ or, I suppose I could help you. ❞
alana could sense that the other wasn’t fully trusting of the answer she’d given, but the human chose not to acknowledge that at the moment given that she didn’t have a better answer she could provide in exchange. ❝ calling. right. definitely something i could have done. ❞ there was a bit of her brain that was still a little fuzzy since her return to the land of the living. hearing the other’s offer, ali shook her head slightly. ❝ i don’ know how you could help. ❞
❝ No, no, no, Black Widow is obviously the superior OG Avenger, ❞ Catalina groaned. ❝ Dude, she had no powers and still manages to keep up with the others. Not only that but she may not have been able to bring Bucky down but girl held her own against a super soldier not once but twice. You really gonna tell me that she’s not the superior? ❞
@humanalana
❝ okay but you’re wrong. ❞ alana countered confidently. ❝ i get it, the girl is a total badass and i totally respect her for that, but spider-man will always be superior to anyone else and nothing you can say is going to change my mind -- and don’t even try and pull that ❛ spider-man isn’t a real avenger ❜ shit. ❞
Trix’s stomach twisted as Alana enclosed their distance and even though they were literally stood in the street, she felt as though all of the oxygen had been stripped from the air.
❝ This isn’t real, this can’t be real ❞ her protests were unsteady as she shook her head and fought to blink back her tears. ❝ … I don’t understand. ❞
From the moment that Alana’s hand sought placement against Trix’s cheek, the heinous memories flooded the banshee’s subconscious, and a slight whimper urged from her lips.
❝ Please, please don’t make me see that again. ❞ It was the hum of Alana’s voice that seemed to coax her back towards reality though and as a breath hitched within the back of her throat, her hand subconsciously rose to catch Alana’s as her doe like eyes widened ❝ I saw you.. I saw it. I saw you die. ❞
alana couldn’t say she blamed trix for being as surprised as she was. it was the exact same reaction that asher had given when she’d first made herself visible to him nearly two months ago. ❝ believe me, i’m still trying to understand myself... ❞ alana spoke softly in response to the other’s denial.
the touch of her hand against trix’s cheek had appeared to have an opposite effect than the one alana had been hoping for. just as she was about to pull away and drop her hand back to her side though, trix reached up and took it within her grasp. ❝ i was dead. that’s a thing that happened -- but i’m alive again. i’m not really sure how, but i am. ❞ alana tried to explain carefully, hoping it wasn’t just going to make matters worse.
ali hadn’t registered trix’s claim to seeing her death right away, but the second that the words had fully processed inside of her mind, the brunette’s eyes grew wide and she looked at the other with concern. ❝ wait -- what do you mean you saw my death? ❞
The use of the familiar nickname caused for his chest to tighten, as he released an unsteady breath and his digits instinctively enclosed around his twins. ❝ I miss mom and dad. I really do, Al and the guilt… it’s there all the time. But … knowing what I did to you was the hardest part. ❞
Asher’s gaze wavered from his twins mirroring own ❝ I wish I could take everything back. I really do. I wake up with this sick feeling every day, knowing what I did. ❞ He tried his best to listen and believe Alana’s words, but he just couldn’t. ❝ If I hadn’t come home, I … I shouldn’t have come home and mom and dad would be okay and you, would have been okay. ❞
Asher rose his free hand as he turned to face his sister, placing his hand against her shoulder as his gaze sought placement against her own ❝ you’re the most important person to me. You always have been and I love you, Al. ❞ For a moment he lowered his head ❝ Rebekah helps me and she can help me keep you safe. I won’t hurt you, Al. I … I won’t and i’m scared that even though … you won’t admit it, that you’re scared of me or.. or you feel like you can’t tell me how you feel. You have .. every right to feel that way, but there are things we can do to help. I want to help. ❞
the feeling of his fingers enclosing around her own brought an odd sense of comfort to alana, despite the heavy conversation that was currently taking place. ❝ i miss them too, ash. ❞ ali admitted softly. there wasn’t a day that went by she didn’t think about her parents, but she wasn’t going to bring that up just yet.
alana listened as asher pleaded that he wished he could take everything back and each word he spoke seemed to break her heart more and more. ❝ i wish we could take it back too, but we can’t. that’s just the reality of it all. but we’ve been given a second chance here and i’ll be damned if i’m gonna throw it away. ❞
a soft sigh fell from alana’s lips as she felt her brother’s hand take place against her shoulder. ❝ i could say the same thing about you, y’know? kinda hard for you not to be my favorite when you’re the other half of my soul and all. ❞ she hummed softly. the mention of rebekah and her help did give ali reason to smile. ❝ rebekah’s been good to you, hasn’t she? ❞ the younger twin asked with a smile, though it faltered quickly when he brought up her feelings. ❝ it’s not that i don’t want to tell you how i feel, i just -- honestly, i don’t even know what i’m feeling lately. there’s a whole mix of emotions going on in my head and it’s rather overwhelming. ❞
From the moment that Trix had heard the painfully familiar voice, a shiver had been sent down her spine and her blood suddenly ran cold. It was a voice that she had sworn to commit to memory, going as far as to listen to old voicemails before she could sleep, because she was terrified of forgetting the sound.
But now, it seemed that Alana’s voice didn’t bring her comfort, but instead a sense of despair as following the sound, was the unmistakable view of her dead girlfriend. Visions weren’t uncommon for her, but she had worked tirelessly to control them during the day.
❝ Lani? ❞ the name that she hadn’t dared speak in three years, whispered from her lips as a lump rose in the back of her throat. ❝ No. No. I’m awake. I’m awake ❞ she whispered to herself as she began pinching her wrist, as if to stir herself from a dream.
alana knew that it was bold to approach the other without giving her a chance to process what was happening, but no matter how hard she tried to stop her feet from moving, they continued to carry her closer and closer to trix.
although she wanted her girlfriend ( ex-girlfriend? ) to be happy to see her, alana wasn’t the least bit surprised by trix’s reaction. as far as she’d been concerned, alana had been dead for three years. in her mind, she was likely seeing a ghost.
wanting to prove to the other that she was in fact awake and actually seeing her, ali stepped forward once more until she was standing just before the beauty before her. ❝ hey... ❞ ali hummed softly, reaching to place a hopefully comforting hand against the brunette’s cheek. ❝ you’re right -- you are awake. that feeling against your cheek right now? that’s real. i’m real. ❞
