he didn't need to be an empath to know how emma was hurting from the loss of sophie . truly hurting , at least , what she couldn't show in front of the other girls . after the time he & emma have spent together , scott's sure he can figure out how to read her now . like how he's thought he's been able , to read jean too , before . he stops himself for a moment , shaking his head to himself , just a little . of all the times to think about him & jean , now wasn't exactly to spend much time dwelling . not when emma actually needed someone .

there's a small frown at her question , a hand hovering just off her shoulder , trying to guide her to at least sit down , whispering how she can start with that . scott grimaces when she mentions kick , a curse in his own head on how they didn't do something more about realizing what was going on with the students and kick . he debates for a beat on pointing out how the fault for it didn't only lay on her anyway , that all of them should have been doing more , but even he knows that might not be what she needs to hear . " i know , emma . trust me , i know . but you ... you don't need to push yourself with this right now . just sit down , okay ? "

as i'm sure you already know, israel has resumed aggressive bombardment of gaza as of march 18th. at least 400 people have already been killed, with hundreds more wounded or buried under the rubble. on top of this, israel has also been almost completely obstructing the entry of aid for the past several weeks, and cut off power to the last functioning water desalination plant on march 9th.

it is more important than ever that those of us outside gaza do not attempt to ignore the ongoing genocide in favor of the illusion of security. any small thing you can do is better than complacency.

THEY WERE UNIQUE. the hive mind, they were family. built from a test tube and unleashed onto the world. phoenix possessed at once and soul marked with its essence. they were then abandoned by scott and emma in the midst of the discovery and challenges that came with the revelation of their existence. it was difficult and confusing. the person who could solve their answers was taken away. THEY WERE, ESSENTIALLY, ALL ALONE. so much for being a family.

celeste was spitfire and known for holding grudges. it's what kept her walls up around this diamond heart. although it was now a beating organ, it meant that it was also filled with emotions of rage, anger, sadness and happiness. compartmentalizing that was going to be difficult. BUT WHY SHOULD SHE? what good did it do for celeste to bottle this rage?

" you're in the dog house. " peaking into his head, quickly finding the argument between emma and scott. it was like a play by play that she witnessed in her own mind as if she was there. " and emma is practically groveling asking to train us again. " was her smile coming from a cruel and vindictive place? probably. not like they didn't deserve it! " what's there not to smile about? "

there's a grimace he can't fight off at her words , & part of him wonders if he should be surprised by her answer . its not like any of emma's girls were known for pulling their punches , something he should have known . still , that grin on celeste's ( he hesitates only for a moment on settling on this one for sure being celeste . they were still hard to tell apart ) is enough to let the unhappy sigh escape from his lips .

“ i guess it's good to know we're able to give you such entertainment . ” he comes out with after another beat , trying not to recall he & emma's argument further in front of her . why should she continue to watch her show ! “ where are your sisters ? i feel like i never see each of you alone lately . ”
