Talk of romance and beauty and everything in-between instills a strange sense of memory of Elita-One. He's not seen her in nearly a decade now, not since they'd all chosen to flee, and while Optimus may not have been quite as enamoured in comparison, there was plenty that kept him from even entertaining the feeling.
His life as a scientist is so far away now he can hardly remember it, and in times of war, softer feelings like love for his own benefit are hardly the priority. Orion Pax died too soon; Optimus Prime has no time for indulgence.
But maybe it's for the best. Airazor speaks of this Tigatron with joy, but also with a bittersweet sense of loss. Having already lost brothers and sisters in the war against the Decepticons on either side, he imagines losing a conjunx endura would have only been worse.
His Spark already aches in quiet sympathy for Airazor's pain. But then again, he does care for her.
Her thanks jars him out of his reverie, his helm lifting as blue optics meet Airazor's own green. Optimus' expression softens, at least as much as it's capable of, and then he shakes his head from side to side. "'till all are one," he murmurs gently, sincerely. "We Autobots and Maximals are stronger together than apart.
"I am sorry for all you've endured, Airazor. What you had with Tigatron is a pain I cannot begin to understand, and I would not disrespect your bond by even attempting to."
He wants to reach out, to touch. And if Airazor doesn't move as his servo stretches outward, Optimus will set his palm on her wing, right where Scourge's corruption had first begun to spread. This damage means nothing in the wake of Airazor's bravery, her beauty, her honour. Neither does any of the loss she'd endured beforehand.
"Your world, your people... it all sounded beautiful as you described it. I regret not being there to see it.
"But perhaps we can make a beautiful home here, too. New memories, new families."
Optimus' tone turns wry. "I would say new dances, if you were willing to do them still, but I fear I have no talent for it."
