“I thought I told you to keep it under control. Seems you can’t even do that…” A frown before Mori properly turned to face his…prodigy. The longer this conflict went on the more of their men they lost and he wasn’t about to let Dazai act like a fool during it all.
ESPECIALLY not when word of the Government placing their hand in it had fallen upon his ears.
“Do I need to send out Chuuya to take your place, Dazai? Or do you think you can shove your Suicidal Ideology down long enough to get a job as simple as this done??” He leaned back and rubbed his forehead- this has gone on long enough and yet it still continued, long enough for the Government to get involved…
“With that out of the way, I have a new job for you instead of what I originally asked. And you WILL see it through, understand?”
despite mori’s ire, dazai is the perfect picture of indifference, both feet kicked up upon the boss’ desk, head thrown back and covered by his arm, almost as if he were simply taking a nap. he doesn’t bother responding to the insults or to the threats, the only sign of him even paying attention to mori’s words being the smallest twitch in his hand and the tiniest pout on his lips at the barely veiled threat leveled against double black and their partnership, against his dog.
it’s moments like these where the line between demon prodigy and spoiled child blur.
an over-dramatic sigh leaves chapped and chewed lips, scuffed dress shoes falling from their perch on the desk towards the ground as their owner rights himself into a more suitable position when in the presence of the port mafia’s head: slouching into the somewhat soft plush of the armchair he’s sat in, arms crossed over his front as he stares at mori with his uncovered eye. still disrespectful, but better considering who dazai was.
❝ i’m not 14 anymore, mori-san; your threats don’t hold as much sway over me as you think they do. in regards to your orders, i was following them. it’s not my fault every other person you’ve recruited into this sinking ship keeps making holes in your plans. ❞ that and despite what dazai says, he’s had his own agenda during the entirety of this conflict: keeping the redheads in his life alive and away from the pale qilin.
❝ but, to answer all of your questions: no, maybe, and depends on what i get out of doing this new job for you ~ ❞
