things that are seemingly mysterious/terrifying are not so much when there’s understanding.

the past years I became jaded through experience; so much so that i almost forgot who i was. my only choice was inward, where i searched the deepest valleys of my psyche. there in wait lied my true essence; the person consumed by poetic musings of love so profound even the bravest of hearts would skip a beat. “nice to see you again,” i said to myself as we integrated and set forth out of those depths. he was young and i was beaten; we sat atop a sunny peak and read until our differences were nullified. 

here i am, a time traveler of sorts. transported from a not so distant past to exist presently, only separated from that time by a deeper understanding of self.
