"In the 6th grade, I had Bell's Palsy (think Jean Chretien). The nerves on the right side of my face kinda stopped working, so I couldn't smile, tear up, etc on half of my face. I would stay in during recess instead of playing outside 'cause kids would laugh at me. Also, my sister mistakenly told everyone at our elementary that I had Cerebral Palsy. It really sucked at the time, but I can laugh about it now."

"No powerpoints - at other companies I spent weeks creating power points to pitch an idea internally for a project that would only take two weeks to actually do. Now, I just do that project. We take the act now, beg for forgiveness after rule pretty seriously here."

"When I'm working on something, I'll find 100 things I could have done better, so it's hard to feel proud of my work. And that's especially difficult working in a team, because everyone will be happy and proud of our work and it's not fair for me to take that satisfaction away from them. I'm learning to find the balance between feeling guilty when I'm not working to improve myself, and finding joy in the moments where I just turn off."

"I'm doing a lot of stuff for Code for Kids and work and school, and my own personal life you know and everything. It's really difficult to keep context when my attention is required for different things in different places at the same time. I've gotten pretty good at switching contexts when I need to. That's an interesting skill to have learned out of necessity."
