Building a Better World in Your Backyard
Hey guys. This morning I woke up and deleted all my social media. My Instagram, Twitter, and personal Facebook accounts (I deleted my Facebook business page a year earlier), all gone. I ghosted from the party. As a small business, it’s a bold move (if not insane) to walk away from such successful pa
“If I create something beautiful — something I am immensely proud of — do I need to share it on social media?“
The science-fiction writer Robert Heinlein once wrote, “Each generation thinks it invented sex.” He was presumably referring to…
“Together, mother and daughter grabbed the unlucky bird and proceeded to slaughter it with a swift machete strike to the neck. The act itself was less surprising than the casualness with which it was done; neither batted an eye at what was, at the time, the first animal I’d seen slaughtered.“

The Power of Community - How Cuba Survived Peak Oil (2006)
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Cuba’s oil import was cut back drastically. It forced the society to abandon industrialized agriculture practices and move back to organic, small-scale farming. Farmers became the people who had food security and could even earn money by selling their surplus. Cars disappeared from the streets, people in cities started to walk or uses bikes for commuting. Local neighborhoods thrived.
The documentary is scary and inspiring at the same time. It clearly projects the painful struggle Europe and USA will face in the coming decades. People in transition towns are making the shift voluntarily already.
TAMERA - An ecovillage for a new humanity (2018)
This French portrait film presents Tamera, established in 1978 in Germany and moved to Portugal in 1995, a peace research and education center and eco-village of 200 hundred people.
The Seed War (2013)
What is even more essential to life than food? Seeds. Whoever gets to control the seeds, gains enormous power. This is how the seed market ended up in the hands of a few global corporate companies.
They only produce and sell sterile seeds to force farmers to buy seeds from them next year as well. Why would then anyone purchase these seeds? This documentary is all about this. In India this lead hundred thousands of farmers to commit suicide in the recent past.

We need more responsible entrepreneurs
"We still struggled with the paradox of growth. We were asking ourselves if we keep growing, are we gonna be the problem instead of the solution?”
Patagonia rep discusses the responsibility entrepreneurs have through the story of transformation of his life and Patagonia’s increasing awareness to their environmental impact. They challenge themselves if growth is the way forward for their business. Very recently they started to be involved in food production as well and experiment with producing regenerative clothes from plants.
Boom Festival 20 Years Movie (1997-2017)
A movie of Boom Festival. A festival that started as a goa rave for friends and became one of the greatest psychedelic-eco festivals in Europe. A festival that is not just about trance music any more but a sacred space to invite all type of arts and connect to our consciousness. A festival that is an example of what world could look like. It’s a demonstration of an alternative reality of peace, love and unity.
Methods for organization development (BOSSA nova)
I captured this diagram from the presentation material of BOSSA nova – an “unrecipe” for thinking outside the box. This figure provides a good overview of the many different schools—from lean to tribes, from teal to sociocracy, from no management to open budget—for reinventing organizations.

It’s 2018 and somehow women are still getting paid less than men, even in supposedly progressive industries like software
Nicholas C. Zakas shares his salary history as a software engineer in the US. By disclosing his exact earnings he wants to entourage people to discuss their compensations with colleagues and push companies to be transparent about their processes.
