i like characters who feel like nothing. they have no desires or needs, trust them on that. they just want to help others and do nothing for themself. i like characters who are very convinced that they are nothing, inferior, worse compared to the people around them. i like characters who have decided the best thing they can do for others is to give away everything they have and save nothing for themself. characters who have very little autonomy, characters who try to have no personal opinions. characters that are totally fine with being smothered and talked over. characters that look to others for decisions, characters that need others to tell them what to do. as long as other people are happy, you know?
Most of the sources Iâve come across have said that the Commandersâ masks are based on the Chinese Zodiac animals and I think thats badass
However I donât think Iâve seen someone make a list of what animal specifically each mask is so I took it upon myself to do that (with help from my dear twin sister @amnesiaskulls)
Also big spoilers for Commander stuff past Route Zero!! Read at your own risk!
Donât expect this to be super comprehensible I had a long ass day at work so I am ZONKED
Okay the first thing I noticed is that almost EVERY SOURCE has UNANIMOUSLY AGREED that at the very least: Murvrum is the Rat. I thought the exact same thing until I was assigning each Commander an animal by researching the skeleton (skulls specifically) of all 12 animals and coming across a really funny realization: oh my god rat and rabbit skulls look a lot alike
Dw I go more in depth on this topic later
Next is Pakron! Very straightforward answer.
Next up is Addamaque (Amnesia noticed this right away lol). I had a lot of fun researching tiger bones hehe
Go my Parmith
Theyâre definitely the goat but this will come back to haunt me later
Okay now itâs time for the pain that is rabbit vs rodent skulls aka Murvrum vs Quenzelle
I feel like im going nuts but heres my incomprehensible analysis of why Quenzelle is the rat instead of Murvrum in more than just a design way (I reach a little bit i think but thats okay) (I could still be wrong ToT)
I donât even know how to explain this it just makes sense to me
Okay now that weâre past that itâs time for Eva my be-something-ed (i feel no love nor hate towards her yet)
I actually love Valla-Garzo so much
Can you tell this text is mostly just here to separate the images
And now his beautiful wife who sucked to research
I was going to make the same horse joke again istg
Did you know Nyewgankâs Jap VA voiced Dwayne in the Japanese Dub of Ninjago
âNyewgank give me a beatâ
Also Murvrumâs dad is included in this
OKAY IM ACTUALLY REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE BUT IM EXHAUSTED AND OFF MY MEDS RN SO IâLL SCREAM ABOUT IT SOME OTHER TIME (also sheâs not the dog we checked so many skulls just in case)
â
okay tldr:
Murvrum - Rabbit
Pakron - Ox
Addamaque - Tiger
Parmith - Goat
Quenzelle - Rat
Eva - Snake
Valla-Garzo - Ram (Goat again)
Szanshin - Dog
Zenâta - Horse
Nyewgank - Rooster
Turamtammi - Dragon
Dahlâxia - Pig
Vâehxness - Monkey
I am no bone expert but I am neurodivergent so Iâm committed to being as correct as possible for my own sanity
just so you know im a physics kid and this nearly made me have a heart attack because i was suffering from physics notes when i saw this. but i shall grant your wish nonetheless
i think there's something of value in every route in thllda. even in the ones i like the least / don't like at all, i think it's possible to find something to appreciate. i kinda wanna pick out some of the less popular ones and talk about what i think their strengths are (or at least what i appreciate about them) some time. discussing the flaws in a piece of media (or really anything) is obviously necessary but you can get real bogged down by it if you only ever look at things in terms of what they do wrong or where they don't measure up. and sometimes it's just...nice to celebrate things, y'know? or idk maybe i'll get distracted in the next ten minutes and forget i even had this thought. who can say.
