That leaves the question, my place or yours?
Lady’s choice. Although I do happen to have a bottle of wine with your name on it back at mine..
Why, it’s no fun to tell you. A show is even better.
I can’t argue with that.
Verbal abuse? As in all the name calling and cursing she will be doing while she’s giving birth?
‘Course. You didn’t think she’d be telling you how much she loves you, right? That might come during the epidural, if she gets one.
They can get pretty mean from what I understand.
I don’t blame them. Luckily, I’ve heard it all before.
Ugh, yeah. One hundred percent on the creepy scale. At least being a medic means you’re trained for helping those babies out of there. Well, or at least trained to help the mothers.
Exactly. It might be a wild ride, but it’s almost always worth it in the end. It’s good to focus on the positives.
Maybe just a little.
‘Just a little’? How’s that work?
“I don’t think you could hate anything about that job besides the long hours. I can only imagine how many you work given that babies can be born at literally any time of the day… or night.”
It’s tough sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I usually work a full 24 hour shift and get 48 off, but sometimes I’ll luck out and only go in for 12. Always keeps you on your toes.
“I am. I work in the emergency room as a doctor. I have seen one too many woman arriving later than they should during labor.”
Well that explains it. I thought you looked a little familiar. It’s even more of a surprise when they didn’t even know they were pregnant. It’s actually a lot more common than one would think.
They can be.
Speaking from experience?
@scottscottscott: Got to visit this little booger today. Watch out ladies, this kid’s already breaking hearts. #prouduncle
Sofia smiled. “But it at least relieves the sexual tension, don’t you think? And that’s the most important part.”
I hate to say no to a beautiful girl, but I just don’t want to give you the wrong idea. If only we’d met about a year ago, my answer might be completely different.
“I’m hoping that you’re a doctor and helping babies out of vaginas is a common thing. Because if not, there might be something wrong happening there.”
I’m actually a medic, but you were close enough. That would be really creepy if I wasn’t.
Imogen smiled sweetly; “I think delivering babies would make you even more sensitive because looking at the small precious things would never get old. You’d be the first thing they’d open their eyes too. Isn’t that lovely”
It’s always amazing to see them open their eyes for the first time. I think the only thing that beats it is the look on mom’s face when she finally gets to hold her baby.
It never goes away the shock.
You’re right about that. Are you in the med field too?
What a great thing to think about as an expectant father.
Well, I guess congratulations are in order. Don’t stress about it too much. Just prepare yourself for the verbal abuse. They usually don’t mean everything they say.
