1. a. Texas: http://this-is-only-for-class.tumblr.com/
- I like this blog page because in each blog post I had a majority of the same views that were expressed. She has been a rather serious blogger by never really messing around, getting straight to the point in each post. Looking back to the 7th post, you can tell she is passionate about what she writes by reading her side note.
b. Ellen: http://e-cali-fornia-dream.tumblr.com/
- I like this blog because it was very simple, keeping one column in the center with a black background. This made it easy to find the information that I was looking for. Also, each post had well thought out responses and you could tell that she actually tried to answer these posts.
c. Arik: http://ategt1.tumblr.com/
- I like this blog because each posting either shared my point of view or was interesting to me. The red background was overwhelming at first but is pretty easy to get used to. Each posting was well written and it was easy to see that he had put some thought into his answers.
2. I think blogging is a great form of multimedia because there are endless options for what you can do with a blog. Whether it be full of videos, gifs, images, text, or a mix of everything, each blog is different so I believe these blogs represent the individual. The presentation relates to the content because some pages have different layouts, fonts, images, etc. to express their opinions, so sometimes there are pages with a white background and only black text to give directions rather than a cookbook page with different fonts, colors, and layouts.
3. This all lends itself to a definition of multimedia by summarizing multimedia as images, videos, etc. that are being displayed digitally somewhere that can be viewed by anyone. By working in multimedia, you become someone who is working with a technology that develops more and more by the day.

1) The author summarizes it by explaining how girl's and boy's prefer different communication tools. Girl's have an artistic approach towards technology that causes them to learn mainly for personal reasons, planning to create something once they have learned enough. Guy's on the other hand do not have all of these tendencies that girl's have. An issue with this is that girl's can have the same interest in digital technology but start their careers struggling with gender equality rather than practicing their profession.
2) The author's hypothesis is "namely that girls often have an artistic approach towards technology. Girls mainly learn technology for a personal reason, planning to create something once they have learned the technique, and their goal often have aesthetic preferences." I agree with this suggestion mainly because I see more males interested in technology than females in today's society. Also, whenever I see females interested in technology, it is always for a reason such as learning how to use photoshop for a class project rather than learning to use it to experiment with new technology.
3) I have many examples but the one that stands out to me is the fact that a majority of people that play video games, especially online, are males. For example, when someone signs in to play Call of Duty they will most likely be playing with all males since it is a war game. Though there are female gamers, the ratio of male to female gamers still remains high. I believe this is because girl's do not play Call of Duty to learn it for a class, relating back to the author's hypothesis, so in turn girl's do not learn how to play this game since they were never forced to.

1) I believe it is such a popular device because it constantly moves and goes forever, which a standing image does not. A GIF makes things more interesting than just staring at a painting or image, where a GIF actually moves around constantly. GIF's are also very useful because they move and grab your attention, which is why the waving american flag gif is so popular as well as the under construction gif. As quoted from the youtube video, the man says "humans love repetition, their comfortable with it" which shows how the GIF is so popular to this day.
2) The idea behind my own gif is very simple, I wanted to create a gif of Earl Sweatshirt's dance from a music video. I thought the dance was funny from the first time I saw it so decided to use it in my gif.

1) In my opinion, after reading this essay, I found that the most significant element of internet art is the fact that anyone in the world can view the form of art in milliseconds. Most artists who paint pictures or make sculptures are only able to show their designs to certain people, while internet.art can be seen from any computer with internet capability. Someone can create a very interesting piece of art, but if it cannot be seen my other people and shared, what is the point of making it? This is why I believe the ability to share the art is so important.
2) link: jodi.org
This piece of art is extremely hectic, there are small text boxes that flash on the screen by the second while the whole piece of art flashes as well. Interestingly enough, the piece of art constantly changes the longer you keep the page open. I left the page open for 5 minutes and it changed multiple times in that span. The colors also change as the page changes. I don't believe the piece is very interesting because it is hard to understand in general.
3) I see a place for internet art in the future because the internet is becoming more and more useful, so this new form of art is also becoming more useful to new or old artists. Since art has many forms, I believe this form of art could belong in a museum or on display because at the end of the day, art is art. It is weird to think about a world where internet art is just as important as canvas art, which eventually could happen. I believe it's weird because canvas art is so traditional, while internet art is something that's relatively new to us.
