Baby Luna: [watches peter leave for kindergarten, tears up] Ahh! [screams and flaps her arms] LIIIILLLYYYYY! [cries]
"Don’t cry, little moon,” Levi insisted, lifting the little girl up in a hug. “Lily will be back soon.”
White Christmas ❄ King James
“Oh god, of course not” Stella laughed awkwardly, honestly thankful of the fact that he didn’t think of the two of them being at that stage yet “It has only been a few weeks” she then said, as she let herself continue to eat “Your Father met my parents months after we got together” she now added, shrugging. She liked telling their kids about their relationship, the both even knew that Levi was the only one who ever got a “taste” of their mother. Of course, that was when “the talk” was scheduled back in their teenage years “My mom loved his cooking, she wanted him to stay” she now giggled, as Luna smiled. Oh, Luna was just in love with her Father’s cooking and she would have said the same if she was her grandmother “Grandma’s food is yummy too though” she said, as if food was the only thing that could get Luna talking. With that, Stella smiled and let her hand casually run through the girls hair “Yeah, she likes cooking for you”
“Your Mom loved me before she tasted my food. Your Dad on the other hand...well, he hated me,” Levi said, smiling back at Stella in a way that said they were nothing but good memories in his eyes. No matter how unpleasant that particular incident had been at the time. He didn’t regret a minute of it. Even if that meant tarnishing an almost perfect first impression with her father. He’d come around eventually. And even if her father had never come around, there was really nothing he could do about it at this point. They were family now. And Levi always did all he could to keep Stella comfortable and happy in her life with him. He leaned forward to refill her glass of wine before leaning back again, his hand sliding across the table to hold hers. “Anyone would love feeding Luna, Sweetheart. She acts like every bite is more delicious than the last. Honestly Peter, I can’t imagine how you can afford rent with this one eating you out of house and home.” Peter was just happy the conversation had turned away from him and Ember.

Stella smiled at how their two children fought, she had always found them quite adorable when they did that. Strangely enough, it just meant they got along. Then she giggled at how Levi was teasing Peter, it was quite a sight to see the two arguing like that. Luna obviously continued to eat, as she also giggled when when her Father continued to tease Peter. With that, Stella looked back at their son and placed a little more food for her “We can stay elsewhere, don’t worry” she started, as Luna gave her plate in too. If Peter was getting more food, so should she. The woman placed more food on their daughters plate now too “but we truly would love to meet her, maybe at work?” she then said “I mean, we works at a bar as far as I remember. A singer, right? I want to hear her sing” she now added, nodding “Strangely enough, I do too” Luna shrugged.
Peter frowned, looking down at his food. Levi imagined he was thinking up every way to keep his parents out of New York. And for Levi, meeting this girl really was the least of his concerns. He knew it mattered to Stella, but he just wanted to see more of his son - who always seemed to be far too busy to visit these days. And Luna too - she was spending more and more time with her brother in the city. That was never a bad thing considering Peter always had an eye out for her. But lately, it was starting to feel like Luna was up to something and that was almost always a bad thing. Levi missed knowing everything about his kids. But maybe this was just the kind of thing that happened when your kids weren’t kids anymore. “Don’t be ridiculous Mom, you can always stay with me,” Peter insisted, though he didn’t seem too keen on the idea. He gave his sister a speculative look - like he didn’t believe her. “I just...don’t think Ember and I are at the meet-the-parents stage. Otherwise I would have brought her here.”

(Bonus: the language is their home language and they are tutoring Person B in it.)

Stella looked over to Levi, honestly happy to hear that he could take her with him on that trip he was going to. Usually, she jumps from being with her Parents or even with Alec’s family. She loves how the two families are close, the woman had always worried about her future children not having cousins. Having a sibling in law was not in her mind, now she’s glad she has them anyways “Ohh, that’s a nice idea” she said, smiling as she now looked back at their son “I miss New York” she then added, nodding to herself. With that, Luna looked up at Peter too and smiled at him “Mom and Dad can totally stay at our place” she offered up Peter’s place. Luna didn’t have her own, she travels a lot after all.
Peter’s face was starting to get red but his father just gave him a smug smile in return. It was like he was trying to embarrass him. The younger man gave his sister a scowl. “Our place? Just because you crash somewhere doesn’t mean you own the place,” Peter turned his attention back to his father. “That’s not really necessary, Dad. I mean, I’m sure Ember is very busy. Between school and work...next month is a very busy month,” Peter went on and on but as far as Levi was concerned, his argument was weak and he was running out of good excuses. “Why don’t you want us to meet this girl? I mean, I’m starting to think she isn’t even real,” Levi said pointedly, waving his fork about before taking a sip from his glass. Peter’s face flushed, mouth opening as if to argue. “Has she got two left eyes or something?”

Sleeping Beauty
She doesn’t mind being pinned down, a part of her enjoys it more than she probably should. Her body arches towards him and when he kisses her, she gets so lost in the moment. As he frees her wrists, she brings one hand to his back and the other runs through his hair. Gasping a little against his mouth, she trembles as she clenches around him. “Levi..”
He shudders, losing a little bit of control with each uneven grind of his hips. He hates how she makes him burn up like this. But he’s addicted to the energy coursing through his veins from the tips of her fingers. Addicted to the way she makes him feel. Between desperate kisses, that much is clear - his skin close against hers like he’s connected to her every nerve ending
A sigh escapes her, running a rough hand through her hair to maintain a smile as she does. Later, later she can break down a little, because she knows she will. But right now, in front of James and Levi, she has no right. She won’t bring her son and his father down. Three years ago she was the girl he loved, and now she’s just someone who broke his heart. She has no right to be here and no right to ask him anything, especially not forgiveness. Let alone helping her get a job, giving her a place to live, taking care of their son. She’d be willing to start whatever legal progress so she couldn’t take off if it would make him feel better. Safer. More secure. Whatever he needs to… Be sure about her staying. He needs that, and she’s willing to give him anything he needs to be secure. To let him get to know his son as well as she does.
The smiles that touches her lips is a little more genuine, brow tipping up at him. “Oh goodness no. The pizza and poptarts verses salads debate will be the greatest debate of our lifetimes.” She teases lightly, brows lifting at James as he giggles. She blinks at the cell phone ringing with a frown as he silences it. But it’s shaken off, smiling wider at James, as she looks at him questioningly. “What do you think, love? Wanna go to the park and run around?” Her head bobs in a nod and James mimics it easily, bouncing in his seat as Harry cleans his hands with a wet napkin. “Yeah? Alright, let’s go to the park. I think that’ll be a good idea. He’ll might actually burn off his sugar rush and be ready for a nap.”
Levi smiles a bit at the kid’s reaction and he really can’t help it - despite whatever conflicting thoughts are going through his mind right now. Because that little giggle and the excitement in his small face is genuine. It’s the kind of smile that lights up any room. One with no worry or care behind his eyes. And for a second there, Levi seems to forget. He forgets about the stress tensing in his back. Forgets about the anger building up just under his skin. But his phone buzzes again and his anxiety resurfaces. The smile fades from his face like the difference between night and day. “I’m sorry,” he says, glancing towards Harry now. “I should probably take this,” he says as he pushes himself up from the booth to answer his phone. “I’m just going to be a minute. I’ll step outside, wait for you there.”
And he does, taking a call he was supposed to have returned last night. After coming in from his flight, he’d promised to give his brother a call. Let him know he’s in the area again. Of course, he hadn’t planned on Harry turning up on his door step. The phone call had easily slipped his mind with the news that Harry had dropped down on him like an anchor. And now the last thing he wants to do is face his brother. He doesn’t know where to start. Doesn’t know how to say I’m a father now because he can’t quite believe it himself. This all just feels like a long twisted dream. So he lies. Tells his brother now is not a good time and that they’ll talk later before he hangs up.

Stella watched as Levi sliced up the ham for the family, everyone simply enjoyed the food as Luna hummed to herself every now and then. She loved to do that whenever she was surrounded by a ton of food, it was something she grew up doing and Stella just found it adorable on her “Peter, darling” the woman started “Tell us more about Ember, when are we going to meet here?” she then asked, as she simply sliced up the ham she had into smaller pieces and simply started eating up whatever was on her plate. She got extremely lucky when she married a man who could cook incredibly, everything always tasted amazing.
Peter practically choked. He held up a finger, his mouth full. He wasn’t sure if he was quite ready to introduce Ember to them - that much was obvious. The relationship was still new and even though he seemed to be crazy about her - Peter was wary of making things too serious. “Mom. New York is a while away from here. I don’t expect you’ll be meeting her anytime soon,” he admitted after having cleared his throat. Levi gave his son a look, his smile almost mocking the boy. “Don’t be ridiculous, Pete. I’ve got a trip in the area just next month. I’ll bring your mother along and we can make a day of it.”

“I’m not sure my thighs could handle the beard burn.” She grins, getting on her tiptoes to see if she can get the bartender’s attention. Unbuttoning a couple of buttons on her top, she sits on one of the barstools and leans over a little. Almost immediately the bartender came over to ask what she’s having. After ordering, she nods towards Levi. “We’re on the same tab.”
Levi smirks before turning his head towards her. He’s just about to ask her what she thinks she’s doing before the bartender finally comes over - the need to roll his eyes at her is strong. And he does, but the need to button her shirt up over her head is stronger. He doesn’t act on the latter, however. “Ah, nice. Very generous,” he jokes, ordering a beer before raising his eyebrows back at her.
Baby Luna: [giggles and smooshes her cheeks against her fathers] Dada twoable [smiles] Dada did bad? [looks at him and pouts] Nuuu!
“Yes, even Da gets in trouble sometimes. It’s your job to make sure I don’t. Deal?”

“Do you want to live or not?” She doesn’t mean to sound so harsh but she couldn’t wait for him to play catch up. “You’re not going crazy. This is going to protect us.” Closing her eyes, she finally has a chance to catch her breath. “Where’s the bathroom?” She’d need to stitch up her wounds before she bled out. “I might need your help with something.”
Maybe he’s crazy, maybe he isn’t. But he’s certainly looking at the blonde like she has more than one head on her shoulder. Levi’s far from a saint - he’s seen more than enough strange things to last him a lifetime. But he can’t quite wrap his head around whatever this is and he’s not sure he wants to. “Down the hall and to the left. If you’re thinking of redecorating the walls in there too, I might have a few objections,” he mused, sarcasm dripping from his tone.
