@hurdling-over-life
This is our red carpet.
Hi I just followed you and your blog is goals😊😊 I'm also a hurdler! (400 lows 🙃)
thank you!!!
What do you love most about track?
I love that you get what you put into it, that when you train hard you will see improvement. I love that even though its an individual sport you still feel to close to team mates and can relate to other people doing your event. I love how you race yourself, and always chasing a PR. The fact that getting a PR is better than winning a race. I love how you can push your limits whenever you want. I love that all you need is your body to compete.
I think some people are in love with the idea of track, they love to win and as long as they win they like the sport - as soon as they stop winning they will hate the sport. That is not true track love, true love for track comes from a passion to work till it hurts and to try harder every day in order to beat yourself.
I was so deep 😂
Hi! So you basically hurdle goals, but how did you learn a three step (if you did) because I four step and I feel really close to the hurdles? And I'm so much faster then my four step time says. Also congrats on being cancer free that's such a huge deal!!! I'm so happy for you!!! :) - run strong!
thank you so much! My coach sort of forced me when i was in seventh grade, she was like learn it or you are not racing. I also had a friend who is super fast four stepping, but she is really short.
I think you are just too used with the four step, once you get the three step down super smooth and effortless your time will be better too.
Thank you for your kind words, i just had my three month check-up and everything looks good!
When your back with your main track team!!!
you're hot, even with short hair
made my day - thanks!
How much weight did you gain? You mentioned your weigh gain in on of your blogs
I gained around 18 pounds (around 8.5 kilos). But i think i looked like i gained like 15 kilos, i was more muscle before which was leaner and then I lost all of that and gained ore fat which made me look even bigger.
I already lost 12 again, just by being back at uni, not sitting at home all day, being able to exercise every day. I also limit my starchy carb intake which has helped me shed a lot of fat - my jeans sort of grew with me while i was sick and now there all a bit baggy.
I feel stronger now and healthy - and that is what matters.
When once in a while you run a 400 - and 30m in you are already dying.

The Truth About Cancer
I doubt you know the truth about cancer. I will let you in on a little secret.
What they say are the worst parts of getting cancer:
Losing your hair
Being in the hospital constantly
Loosing weight
Nausea
Blood drawls
Always being cold
Knowing you could die
Not having energy
What I KNOW are the worst parts of getting cancer:
Being looked at differently
Gaining weight (due to the steroids they put us on)
Stretchmarks
Low self-esteem
Hot flashes
Anxiety
Headaches
Having energy, but not being allowed to go anywhere or do anything.
Missing school
Shots
Having your port accessed
People treating you differently
Being bald.
Your face is often red
You can’t wear tight shirts or sports bras
Sleeping in a hospital is nearly impossible
So the next time you see someone who has cancer, don’t go all sympathetic on them. How would you feel if you walked in to school one day, and everyone looked at you and acted towards you differently. You’d feel extremely self-conscious. And when you have gained nearly 40 lbs. thanks to stupid medicines your doctors say will make your tumor shrink faster; you have no eyebrows, no eyelashes, and no hair; and when you are not allowed to work out or diet to lose any of this access weight they gave you no option but to gain; you really feel like the ugliest human being on the face of the Earth. Every compliment you get saying “You’re Beautiful” or “You’re so strong.” you know are out of pity. You know that can see the difference in you. You know they are only saying it because you are bald, or because you might die. You know that they don’t really mean it. So I dare you, next time you see someone with cancer, treat them as you would treat anyone. Don’t be nice to them because they are sick. Treat them how you treated them before they were sick. Because one of these days, I will have my hair back. I will lose the weight. But are you still going to treat me as you did when I didn’t have hair? I doubt it. It will go back to how it was, when everyone hated me. When rumors were spread, and people would avoid me in halls. When I sat alone at lunch and when I was the last person to finish running the mile in gym class. Just because I have cancer doesn’t mean I will die, so why should you treat me like I’m going to die because I have cancer?
Crazy true!
I read that you're half German. So my question is: Can you speak German? :D And I just want to let you know, that I love your blog ♥
Yesss I speak german! Vielen Dank für die lieben Worte!
I have short hair! Even after chemo what was left of my long hair continoued to fall off. So i chopped it all off to give my new hair a chance.
congrats on being cancer free!!!! -a fellow runner
thank youuuu
Back on the track.
