Afternoon on the Mentawai Beach. Lovely moment looking for a children ride their bicylce along the beach with their shining face. Smile and laughing with his/her friends. In this area, bicycle was the main transportation. They only have a few motor cycle and car. Most of the local people prefer going by foot here. The nature make them used to be like that.

Traditional sailor form Mentawai. He used the cano to sail through the sea. Some time they fishing while waiting the fisihing nets pulling time. This photo was taken about 4 km form the beach. You know, Mentawai famous among the surfer. They said that the wave in this area more chalenge than in Hawai. Not on this side of the Island, but in western side, facing to Hindia Ocean. The surfer always come in the middle of the years, June to August usually.

This is a cargo ship from Mentawai to Padang. This ship full of "ratan" as an original natural resource from Mentawai Island. This was taken on August 2010, during my travelling to Mentawai Island. I just woke up after one night shiping from Padang to Mentawai. You see the sea? It so quiet.

This photo was taken in June 2010. I was in my expedition to Merapi Mount, West Sumatera, Indonesia. Never forget this moment, I reach the top with almost 40 kg logistic and camp equipment in my carrier, hard for little me but I reach it.
