Being put forward for an idol reality TV show sounded too good to be true. However, you were naive enough to believe JYPE, and even Bangchan wouldn’t put you in a situation like that. How wrong you were.
It started fine; the offer of the show sounded great. Thirty days in an apartment with another idol to see how those from two different groups bonded over the thirty days, with no contact with the outside world, outside of the show. Pretty easy, right?
Bidding goodbye to the members was rather difficult. In the eight years since you debuted, you’d never spent that much time apart from them, even during your rare one-off holiday. But the entire time you were saying goodbye, you couldn’t help but notice the mischievous energy of the members, as if they knew something you didn’t.
You sat in the black SUV on the way to the apartment, leg bouncing nervously as the filming had started as soon as you stepped in the vehicle. It was explained that the whole show was filmed by pre-placed and hidden cameras, instead of physical cameramen, to help with the whole ‘true-bonding experience’.
As you arrived at the apartment, you stood outside the door, taking a deep breath in, knowing this would be the last time you saw the outside world, unless there were some kind of challenges involved in the show. Without further thought, you looked down at your phone for the passcode they had given you, clicking the numbers that unlocked the door.
You stepped into the apartment, dragging your suitcase in behind you, praying that whoever waited beyond this hallway was someone you could deal with. Maybe Jihyo from TWICE? Or one of the boys from Enhypen or ATEEZ, given how close your members were with them. Someone you could deal with and get by with.
The apartment was pretty cute, like the Pinterest photos you added to your board, as you dreamt what the dorm would look like without Seungmin and Felix messing it up. But a large, sleek black suitcase sat in the middle of the room, ruining the whole vibe of the modernised apartment.
You furrowed your eyebrows, confused about who the other idol could possibly be.
A door further down the hallway clicked open behind you, so you turned towards the noise, seeing a tall, lean figure move through the darkened hallway. And as they emerged into the soft living room glow, you gasped.
And it seemed he felt the exact same way.
Jeon Jungkook stood opposite you.
Your number one rival of all time, for whatever reason. Maybe it was the fact that you were both nicknamed ‘Golden Maknae’ and ‘Golden Mat-unnie’, which he had publicly laughed at when an announcer nicknamed you it, caught on live television for millions to see. But either way, you’d never have got along with him, vice versa.
“You’re fucking shitting me,’ you muttered, as you sighed and turned away from Jungkook, moving to sit down on the sofa.
A month with Jungkook. You couldn’t even opt out now. It was in the contract that, unless for serious issues, you couldn’t opt out of the show, and you’re sure that Jungkook and your rivalry did not make the cut.
‘Yeah, I’m not too pleased to see you either,” Jungkook grumbled, sitting at a barstool at the kitchen counter.
As you went to bark out a reply, a voice and a light cut you off. The strange Alexa-like electronic that sat on the table began speaking.
“Hello, Jeon Jungkook of BTS and Y/N Y/L/N of Stray Kids, my name is Proto. Welcome to The Idol Experiment. For the next thirty days, the pair of you will bond over your differences to see how a relationship can evolve from a stage like yours to friends, or potentially something more. Every few days you will be faced with different couple challenges, where you will both engage in the various activities. Phone calls home back to members and families can also be made twice a week with our own provided phone. The first phone call availability will open tonight. As you may have noticed, there is only one bedroom. Please work with this as you deem appropriate. I also request that you both place your mobile devices in this box; you will receive them back at the end of your stay. I will speak to you both later tonight”
The box on the table next to Proto opened by itself, a space for two phones ready to be placed. You sighed and rolled your eyes, reluctantly placing it in the box, but not before taking one last glance at your lock screen, which was your boys. Jungkook shortly followed.
“I’m gonna go insane,” you commented under your breath.
Jungkook huffed a laugh, “Tell me about it.” He then came to sit opposite you on the one-seater. “So, what did your company tell you this was?” You looked at Jungkook gone-out. Why was he trying to start a conversation with you? In your mind, you had it set that you would just attempt to avoid him for the entire month. “Okay, don’t respond then… I’m trying to make conversation, cause y’know we are stuck here now,”
“Look, just because we’re stuck here, we don’t have to talk. I think you're forgetting we have some rivalry or whatever bullshit your fans made up years ago when Stray Kids covered one of your group’s songs. I’m just gonna try and get through these next four weeks by avoiding you,” You rambled in annoyance.
“Rivals, hey? Maybe they should have named it the ‘Rival Idol Experiment?’ I think you’re forgetting we have one bed, one bathroom, one kitchen and one living space, with no phones. What are you gonna do for thirty days, huh?” He smirked, knowing he was right.
You rolled your eyes and huffed, but responded to his original question, “They told me it was a normal reality show, where they document two idols from different groups in one space. I think they left out that you were a part of this, though.”
Jungkook looked at you before responding, “Same here, but my company said it’s more of a dating show.” Your head immediately snapped towards him in shock and disgust. But he soon burst out laughing, “Got you! You should have seen your face. Dating show? As if we could ever do that as idols, Y/N.”
Little did he know…
“You are so frustrating… Whatever. I’m gonna go put my stuff away,” you stood up from the sofa, leaving Jungkook alone in the living room. As you travelled through the hallway, trudging your suitcase behind you, the bedroom door was ajar, which you opened.
Jungkook had clearly already made refuge in the room as another one of his bags had been unpacked on the bed, already claiming one side of the bed as his own, and also half of the wardrobe, to your dismay. One bedroom and one bed. Proto wasn’t kidding. You immediately turned around and back out of the room, suitcase in tow.
Jungkook turned his head at your presence re-entering the room, “Why are you already back? Aren’t you unpacking?”
You shook your head, “I’m not sleeping in the same bed, let alone room, as you.”
Jungkook chuckled under his breath, “So where are you sleeping? The hallway?”
You rolled your eyes at his sarcastic tone, “I’ll take the sofa,” you said in all seriousness, but Jungkook just raised his eyebrows at you, with a look that said ‘Really?’. “I mean it, I’m not sharing a bed with you!”
“Fine! Suit yourself, but when you get cold in the night, or your back starts hurting, don’t try squeezing in the bed,” he shrugged.
You reluctantly sat back down on the sofa, on the opposite side to Jungkook, wanting to keep as much distance between the two of you as he could. It was pretty awkward, to say the least. There were no outside distractions for either of you. No TV, no phones, no music or dance studio to escape into. It was just this small one-bedroom apartment.
“Y/N and Jungkook,” Proto’s voice broke out, the electronic device lighting up again, “I can present the pair of you with a handheld camera, similar to the ones you use in your own group logs. These are to be used to document your personal interviews, which you may do in the bathroom, where there are no cameras, of course. Or, any special moments that you feel should be documented for this show. I’ll be back with you shortly for your first ‘couple’ challenge.”
The voice died down, and you stared at Jungkook, “Sorry? Maybe I misheard? Did it just say ‘couple challenge’?”
He nodded, “I swear I was joking, but what if I wasn’t wrong…?” Jungkook trailed off at the thought, not wanting to actually admit it out loud as the two of you stared at one another. “They wouldn’t… surely not?’ He said out loud, slightly unconvinced.
“No! Absolutely not! I mean, they can’t!” You added.
The drawer underneath Proto opened, and revealed the two Go-Pro-like cameras, one of which had Jungkook’s name on it, the other with yours. You both stared at the drawer, Jungkook reaching in first to retrieve his, you shortly following.
“Well, might as well make some use of it. The only thing I can talk to without it arguing back at me,” Jungkook joked, standing up to walk towards the bathroom.
“Haha! Very funny,” you deadpanned, as the bathroom door clicked shut down the hallway.
You sighed as you looked at the small camera in your hand, resting it next to Proto, as you pressed the record button. If Jungkook was going to record his first solo confessional, you might as well, too, now that the living room was free.
The red light blinked to life.
You stared at the camera for one moment, not really sure what exactly to say.
“Um… I’m not sure, really, what to say, I suppose. I didn’t think this was the TV show I was going on, and if I’m completely, entirely honest, I hate it,” you admitted, but quickly rushed in, “Sorry, Proto. I mean, if it were someone else, maybe I could do this, but with him? Absolutely not! It’s Jeon Jungkook out of all people, who is the most annoying, frustrating man I have actually met, more annoying than Seungmin, who lives to annoy me. I’m just counting down the days till I finally get out of here, and I can strangle Chan and JYPE for letting me be here,”
“I also don’t understand this actual show? Is it a documentary? A love show that’s meant to inspire some K-Drama, or feed into Jungkook fans' minds of what it's like to be a roommate with the one and only Jeon Jungkook? Because let me tell you! One word: Annoying! When I walked in and saw him, my first thought was how badly I wanna be back in my dorm with Felix and Seungmin, despite them nearly burning down our apartment due to their cooking, but even that feels more bearable than this!”
You then thought, what if Proto is like an actual Alexa-like porgramme who answers back?
“Maybe Proto can tell me? Proto,” You waited. Eventually, it lit up again, signalling that it was listening, “What actually is this show?”
“This show, The Idol Experiment, is designed to bring two contrasting idols together in a one-bedroom shared apartment, with no connection to the outside world” Proto quoted it as though it was some practised text, which it definitely was.
“No, but actually! What actually is this? A dating show?”
“I’m afraid I am not allowed to disclose this information, Y/N,” Proto finished as the light clicked off once again.
You sighed in defeat, “Well, I suppose it can’t answer everything. Let’s hope we get our first ‘couple challenge’ soon, so that I don’t die of boredom or worse, murder Jungkook,” you spoke defeated, shutting the camera off and storing it in the front zip of your luggage.
A few minutes later, Jungkook emerged back into the room, moving to sit at the kitchen island opposite you on the sofa. “What’d you speak about?” You asked.
Jungkook shrugged with a smirk on his face, “Not a lot. Just how annoying you are,” he grinned, knowing it would get under your skin.
You rolled your eyes, sitting up straighter so that you could lean on your elbows, “I’m annoying?” You questioned rhetorically, “You started this whole issue between us! You were just jealous I got called out for being the Golden idol, which you’re so used to being praised as. But as soon as the attentions not on you, you get jealous!”
Jungkook rose to the challenge, “Or maybe… you’re just not worthy of the title?” He responded with a smirk, also getting slightly riled up, “I mean, come on? Yeah, you can sing and dance, but what do you actually stand out for in your group? Your looks? That’s gonna get you far,”
You stood up, anger fuelling at his words, “Says you! Mr. I-Pose-Half-Naked-For-The-Front-Page-Of-Every-Magazine!” You moved closer to him, standing near enough in between his legs, as he looked up to you with those eyes, which you tried so hard to ignore! “You are so frustrating! I could have been locked up with anyone! Anyone in the entire industry! Any other member of BTS, but no! I got you! And I can’t even leave before the thirty days!”
Jungkook stayed quiet for a moment, just examining you while you tried to cool down from the argument between you. He spoke up once your chest stopped heaving, “You’re kinda cute when you're angry,” he commented with a smirk.
“ARGH! Just-! Go away! Please! Before I hit myself or you-!”
Jungkook moved to stand up, but was quickly cut off by the robotic voice, “Not so fast, Jungkook. The first couple challenge has been decided by the public!”
You groaned, “I wish you’d stop calling it a couple challenge.”
“I have since contacted your group members to ask what the most popular dorm dish is that you ate during your trainee and idol years. The selected dish from each group is what you will be cooking for each other, while also learning from the other person. Jungkook, you will be making Dwaeji-gukbap, and Y/N, you’ll be making samgyeopsal. All ingredients have been supplied in our fridge, which we’ll now tell our audience about during our ad break! Time to cook!”
Jungkook sighs, “I keep forgetting we’re on a TV show.” He moves towards the kitchen, you reluctantly following. “Who’s going first?”
“I will,” you inform him, as you move to search throughout the kitchen to find every item you need.
You avoided conversation as you started shredding the green onion, despite your dislike for the food. It was like at the dorms when you cooked, the boys loved green onions with their samgyeopsal, but you despised them, but automatically assumed Jungkook would eat them.
“Soooo…. who usually cooks in your group?”
“Mainly Chan-hyung and Minho. Felix and Min aren’t trusted in the kitchen cause they nearly set the JYPE dormitories on fire during our trainee days, and also during a live the three of us did. I sometimes do, when we’ve had a lot of schedules in the week, cause everyones too tired, so I take on that role then- Sorry, I’m talking a lot.”
You finished prepping the pa muchim and moved on to making the ssaamjang. Jungkook smiled slightly, barely, but a few fans noticed it, “It’s fine, I don’t mind.” After a brief pause, he spoke again, “You miss them already, don’t you?”
You sighed and nodded, “Yeah,” you admitted. “I mean, we’ve never been apart this long, and knowing this is only the first day, when we still have a whole month till we’re together again. I take care of them, y’know. With me being the second eldest by a few days off of Chan, I feel responsible for them, and now that I don’t have eight crazy and chaotic people to take care of, I feel a bit… lost.” You admitted, your mouth moving quicker than your mind.
Jungkook nodded in understanding as he watched you prepare the pork, ready for the grill. “I can’t relate entirely, cause I am the youngest. My members basically brought me up and helped me grow. But I do remember when Jin first enlisted, then Hobi. And I counted every day until they left for their service, and even though I had the others, everyone was so busy with their solo stuff. So, yeah, I get you. It’s gonna be hard for us both,”
As you finished dishing the food onto the island behind you, you turned back around, turning into Jungkook's chest. He stood tall over you as he looked down into your eyes. A new feeling swirling low, something you hadn’t felt before.
But then you remembered who this was, and it seemed he remembered who you were. Knocking himself out of the trance, he backed away, “That was weird…”
You nodded with a scoff, “Yeah… Don’t do it again,” you warned.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” Jungkook retorted.
You moved to sit at the island, Jungkook coming to sit next to you, “Well, enjoy…”
You both moved to pile food onto your plate, you reached for the pork, lettuce and perilla leaves, and the sesame oil sauce, while Jungkook put everything on his plate, as well as the green onion salad, which you avoided.
He looked over to your plate as he took in the food you were eating. “Why don’t you have any pa muchim?” He questioned.
“I don’t like it. Or any onions for that matter. They taste bad, and the textures are weird,” you explained.
“You’re weird,” he muttered under his breath, but a gentle nudge to his arm told him you heard exactly what he said.
Jungkook dived into his food, groaning at the taste of the food. “This is really good,” He spoke with a mouth full of food, turning to you.
“Don’t speak with your mouth full… But thank you,” You smiled lightly at his words, turning back to your own food, as you both continued to eat.
After finishing your food, you both moved back into the kitchen. “With this, I’ll just make about two portions, but if we can’t finish it, we can just reheat it another time, I suppose.”
You nodded in response as Jungkook moved through the kitchen, repeating the steps you had done around thirty minutes ago. As he opened the cupboard, Jungkook stared at the onions, which he’d usually use in the dish, but after what you said, he moved his hand away and reached for the garlic, closing the cupboard behind him.
“Felix hates this meal, y’know,” you spoke up, trying to remain somewhat civil for the time being, “It was one of the first meals I ever made us after we debuted, he pretended to eat it, but he was secretly feeding it to Han, because he didn’t wanna hurt my feelings. I knew that he was doing it, but I didn’t wanna ruin their fun,” you smiled at the memory, sitting on the countertop, next to where Jungkook was working.
You watched him work meticulously, even measuring out everything in actual tablespoons and teaspoons instead of just guessing. Almost as if this actually mattered to him.
Soon enough, you were back at the kitchen island, eating your small bowl of food, Jungkook back next to you.
You stared at the food for a moment, quickly taking note of something. “Hang on… There’s no onion in this? I swear, you traditionally put onions in it?” You questioned, stirring around the soup.
“You said you didn’t like them, so I took them out,” Jungkook explained.
It was only a small gesture, but it showed that maybe he did listen to you, more than he made out to. And that meant a lot in this moment, given the situation the two of you were placed in.
After dinner, the two of you lie on either sofa, full after the food, but sitting in silence. It seemed as though the two of you would forget this whole situation, but then remember the whole real story, causing the two of you to argue again. But for now, there was silence. Until Proto began speaking on the table.
“Congratulations to the pair of you for completing the first couple challenge! It was lovely seeing you both bond over shared topics!” You rolled your eyes at the words, “Now, for our first check-in of this month, which occurs twice a week, you will receive a phone call from one member. Y/N, you’re up first.”
You immediately perked up at this, sitting straight up and staring at Proto, who was still lit up. “The phone box will now be unlocked in the bedroom. Please make your way there now. Jungkook, you’re up after! You have two minutes, Y/N!”
You tried to contain the excited, stupid little run your feet did as you made your way down the hallway and into the bedroom, now taking note of the phone box which had opened on the wall.
RING. RING. RING.
You ran over to the phone and snatched it off the wall. You knew who’d be the first to call. “Christopher Chan Bahng, I am going to strangle you to death when I escape here!”
“I see you’re already going insane in solitary confinement,” he laughed through the phone.
“This isn’t funny! What did you and the company sign me up for? I mean, come on? Jungkook for starters, and secondly, is this a dating show or what!?” You exclaimed.
“Can’t say. I’m under an NDA,” you could hear the smirk in his voice.
“If I were there right now, I’d knock that stupid smirk off that smug face,” you warned, “You’re such a loser leader, right now,” you complained, letting your head hit against the wall.
“You miss me really. All of us actually. Don’t you remember yours and Kookie’s conversation in the kitchen earlier, about how much you love and miss us and we’re the best things ever-?”
“They were not my words!”
“Close enough,” he shrugged, “But hey, seriously. It’s just four weeks. You can do that, okay? Even if you do just ignore each other for those four weeks, and you sleep on the sofa all that time, even though you won't last that long, because it's you. That’s fine. Just take it easy? Yeah?”
“I will…” You whispered, “I miss you.” You then sighed. Chan was the closest thing you’d ever get to a brother. More than the other members. You’d be trainees together for seven years before debuting with Stray Kids. He was your rock.
“We’re all here watching you and supporting you. Andddd laughing at you, but we love you, yeah?”
You nodded. Maybe he was watching this in real time, hoping that he could see you. “Tell the boys I miss-”
This call has been terminated.
You sighed, placing the receiver back in the telephone box. Four weeks. You can do this. You just had to avoid Jeon Jungkook at all costs.

okay so hear me out…
skz 9thmember!female reader (same age as chan) x jungkook, on like an idol reality ‘dating’ show, where they’re like in a shared apartment for 30 days, and it’s like an enemies to lovers series..??? anyone interested or any thoughts…?
combining my two ults 🙏
thoughts?
YES
no 👎👎👎
for me ◡̈
heated rivalry
bangchan x twice!reader
in which… kpop finals showcasing the two most talked about idols in the world. stray kids’ bangchan and twice’s y/n.
warnings… mdni, no explicit smut, however mentions and implications of it, makeouts, lots of tension because hot?? situationship/fwb gone wrong, but they always go back to escher #unhealthy
authors note… first time writing content for skz that’s not angst or fluff,, kinda nervy. also has no good ending LOL, inspired by the whole jimin and jeongyeon situation..
you grew up around bangchan at JYPE. the two of you being the same age, so you were relatively close, especially considering how much your unnie’s loved him.
once his group, stray kids debuted, the pair of you grew apart slightly. you being busy with twice, him being busy leading his own group.
however, after a couple years, in 2020, when the pair of you re-met at an event, it ended up into a whir of events.
events which ended you up in bangchan’s apartment, and his handprints all over your body to say the least. which became a very common occurrence.
after that night, as you took the walk of shame back to your shared dorm with nayeon and jihyo, they pried about your disappearance; to which you truthfully answered.
“wait! i’m sorry? what?” jihyo exclaimed.
you groaned, throwing yourself back on the sofa, “don’t even. i don’t even know how it happened, it just did!” you told the girls, “and is it bad, if i enjoyed it? like really enjoyed it?”
nayeon grimaced at what you said, especially because she viewed chan as a younger brother, “gross, but i guess not?” she shrugged, “i mean it’s just a bit of fun i suppose, and it might not happen again,”
you nodded, convinced at her words. but that night, chan proved you wrong, as he messaged you.
and that’s exactly what happened.
after any minor inconvenience in yours of his life, you came running to one another. filling the moments of stress with lust and hunger from one another.
your members, and his members, grew use to the feeling of having the other in their dorm or apartment block. and everyone knew exactly what it meant, as the two of you weren’t secretive with it in the dorms.
poor seungmin and felix walking in on you and chan, three times.
but despite all of the moments and heated encounters the pair of you had, you never expected chan to full ghost you one day.
it was out of nowhere. the night before, he was in your bed, marking you up and down, as he practically worshipped you. you woke up to him not being there, which you kind of expected.
it was nothing serious. it never was. friends with benefits, a situationship. whatever you wanted to call it; that’s what it was.
but being ghosted? was a whole new level. he blocked you on everything. messenger, instagram, whatsapp, on the private twitter accounts you had. he’d gone.
even around the company, he completely blanked you. his members were awkward with you from that moment on too, as were your girls with him, despite them knowing his for years prior. but things had changed.
and one thing for sure was; you hated christopher chahn bahng.
it wasn’t until a year later, in 2022 that someone on social media picked up on the idea of you and bangchan.
twice and stray kids had both attended the MAMA awards that year, both being nominated for various awards.
but as you were sat down in your seats, second row from the front, the other groups were being led in.
what you didn’t except was stray kids being led to sit right in front of you.
without even noticing you grimaced at the sight of their leader, turning away to whisper something to tzuyu.
chan saw it out the corner of his eye and rolled them, shaking his head as he muttered something under his breath, clearly displeased with your presence.
somehow, a fan had managed to catch this minor, millisecond interaction on record, and it blew up.
headline after headline about the pair of you. rumours of what happened between the two of you.
you all ignored them of course, choosing to keep the level of disgust and anger towards chan, despite all the headlines.
but the next time was at some random MC host, that stray kids and twice had been paired for.
you stood on the platform, next to momo, chan somehow, ending up on the other side of you.
randomly out of nowhere, felix said a word which triggered chan to start singing a reference to a famous song, the other boys following suit.
you rolled your eyes, as soon as chan’s mouth opened and he obnoxiously started singing. you hid your face behind the card you held, as you regained your composure, trying your very best to not hit him then and there.
the MC show finished rather quickly after that, and you were being whisked away into your green room.
the girls had left you alone for a few minutes, as they left to return any mics or wires they still had.
the door behind you swung open and you removed some of the jewellery you had worn.
“i swear to god! that man gets under my skin so bad! i don’t know who he thinks he is, just because-" you began to complain, assuming it was one of your girls returning.
a low laugh sounded from behind you, your eyes widened as you recognised the dark sound, causing you to turn around.
“funny you should say that,” bangchan.
you immediately stood up and paced over to him. “what are you doing in here?”
“just thought i’d come see you, as you so clearly loved my presence during that host,” he replied smugly.
you scoffed, “fuck you! you think you can just ghost me a year ago, to now walk in here like you’re something to me?”
he grabbed your face harshly and pulled you in for a searing kiss, one that said a lot more than any words right now.
after a moment of realisation, you pushed him away, backing him into the doo. “what’s wrong with you?!” you called out to him, feeling a lot of anger in the moment.
“seems like someone’s missed not getting any,” he smirked.
you approached him again, your face inches apart from him, “fuck you, chan,” you whispered, crashing your lips on his once more.
he locked the door behind him with one hand, then leading you to the sofa along side the wall.
chan moved down to you jaw, “your the only one who gets under my skin like this,” he muttered, nipping along your chest.
this was not how your night was supposed to end.
the next day, the headlines and stan twitter, were exploding. yours and chan’s name were trending, as well as dispatch reporting on the tension between the pair of you.
you were raging. you couldn’t believe you’d allowed yourself to do that, with him. after everything that happened last year, why did you let that happen?
you slapped yourself mentally, preparing yourself to tell your group of girls, as chan prepared himself for the same thing.
you walked into the shared living space with the girls, “i’m gonna be so honest with you guys here,” you announced, everyone turned to look at you, “i fucked chan, again,” no one responded, just blinking at you.
“i’m not surprised,” sana said.
you furrowed your eyebrows and looked over.
“i mean come on y/n. seriously. after the tension during the host, and also at that award show a few months ago, we’re not surprised,” chaeyoung explained.
“i was kind of hoping one of you would berate me and hit me,” you groaned, falling to the floor dramatically, “why do i do this to myself!?”
chan sat at the desk in the living room, working on a new track, when in walked his members.
“hey hyungggg,” seungmin sing-songed.
chan turned around to see a group of smug-looking members.
chan sighed, “what?”
“we heard from a friend-”
changbin coughed dramatically, “tzuyu,”
chan rolled his eyes at changbin, “that you and a certain someone from twice had an interaction,” han explained.
“i think interaction is under-selling what happened,” jeongin muttered.
chan rolled his eyes, “and what?” turning back to his laptop.
“and what? you made us ignore y/n for like months! even though we all love her,” han whined dramatically.
“yeah- in the hallways at the company and everything!” felix added.
“whatever, it’s not gonna happen again, so,” chan trailed off.
“bullshit,” lee know called out, shutting chan’s laptop with an sigh.
chan just shrugged in response, standing up and leaving his laptop where it was, wanting to escape this situation.
“you should ask her out,” seungmin smirked teasingly, “like actually ask her out, not just to your bed,”
chan huffed a laugh, “yeah right,” he began to turn away but after realising the silence he turned back, “wait- you guys are being serious?”
everyone nodded their head rapidly.
“hyung! seriously! you guys clearly like each other so just ask her out like any normal person!” han complained.
chan pointed at jisung, “for your information jisung-ah we don’t ’like each other’, we fuck, that’s it,”
“nice way to word it,” hyunjin sarcastically commented.
“whatever!” was chan’s final word before walking away.
he lay on his bed as he made it to his room, one arm propping his head up. maybe the members were right. maybe it was worth an attempt… to see exactly what happened.
well fuck.
had to reupload this cuz tumblr glitched..
i wanna write something based off this rumour with a skz member and twice!reader, but idk who to do!!
context (somewhat); jimin and jeongyeon have been captured so many times of having awkward tension, it’s never been confirmed what happened, but in my context, it would be the member x reader that were once a situationship, and something happened causing the tension between the reader and member.
update: i’ve chosen chan based on the results at 10pm uk time, as i wanna write this as soon as ◡̈

TRUE BEAUTY MASTERLIST
That next morning, Felix was actually excited for school. He'd get to see you. And that meant more than anything to him.
But what he was met with when he got to school was a sight he did not want to see.
Hwang Hyunjin called your name and threw his motorbike keys at you, as you caught them. “Take them,”
“What?” you asked, as you looked up at the boy.
“You told me not to ride it,” he answered.
Girls that were walking nearby listened in, muttering a small, “Are they dating?” as they walked past.
Hyunjin turned to the side and noticed Felix standing there watching, so he spoke slightly louder. “From now on, I’ll only listen to you,” Hyunjin leaned into you and smiled, then walked away as if nothing happened.
“Hey Hwang-”
But a hand grabbed onto your wrist, “Don’t go!” the voice said.
You turned and met eyes with Felix. Everyone had stopped to watch the interaction, “But I just-”
“Don't go,” he repeated.
You were taken aback, “why?”
“I have something to say,”
“Something to say?” you clarified.
Felix nodded, “Well…” he then got embarrassed and completely changed the course of the conversation. “The wildfires in Australia are cause by the Indian Ocean Dipole and El Niño. What do you think about their interrelationship?” He rambled.
You furrowed your eyebrows, “Niño, what now?”
You sat at your desk in class before it started, examining the keys Hyunjin had given you.
He walked into the classroom and looked at you as he passed your desk. “Take this back,” you said, as you lifted the keys up to him, “Why would you give it to me,”
“You should hold onto it so I don't ride the motorcycle,” he pushed your hand away, as the whole room stopped and watched the encounter, “why? Because I’ll only listen to you,”
The room around you gasped in shock at Hyunjin’s words.
You sat up in your seat, “Are you getting back at me for blackmailing you with the photo of you and the bike?”
He tutted, “Get back at you? Please,” Hyunjin reached into his bag and pulled out an orange drink, “I found this on the way here. You can have it,”
Hyunjin walked away to his seat as the room gasped and began to discuss, “I prefer strawberry,” you called to him.
Felix watched the whole encounter with a harsh glare, his gaze not leaving Hyunjin once.
Jihyo moved into the seat next to you, “What’s up with him all of a sudden? What's with the key?”
You sighed and looked down, you didn't even know yourself.
Later in the day, you'd found Hyunjin in the corridor. “Hwang Hyunjin!” you yelled from the top of the stairs, him being at the bottom with his friend group.
Everyone turned to look at you, his friends ‘ooing’ in response. “Catch!”
Before you could finish the sentence, you'd thrown the key and ran away.
You'd walked into Science a few hours later, fiddling around as you felt something digging into you from your pocket.
His key. You sighed, “when did he put this in here?” you wondered out loud.
As you walked past Felix, he grabbed onto the back of your blazer, “You can sit here if you want,” he even pulled out the chair next to him.
“Thanks…” you responded, confused.
You sat at the seat and placed your belongings down, the orange drink from earlier included.
“You said you weren't drinking it,” Felix commented.
“I can't just throw it away,” you told him.
Felix took it from the table and pushed it into Minho’s hands who was walking past, “Have this,” Felix said.
As the teacher began to do a roll call you turned away from Felix as he dug through his bag for something.
Not even a second later, a drink was placed in front of you; the strawberry one you liked.
You looked at him for a moment, trying to bite back your smile, but ultimately failed.
He bought it because I said I liked strawberry, you thought.
At lunch, Jihyo moved to sit next to you, but before she could even place her tray down, Hyunjin had moved her out of the way.
The cafeteria turning to look at what was going on. “Hwang Hyunjin, go away if you're here to give her a hard time,” Nayeon said opposite you.
“I’m only going to listen to Y/N,” he responded.
His friend group turned around and repeated his words mockingly, to which he shooed away.
“Then do me a favour,” you said, “get lost,”
The girls and Changbin opposite you tried to suppress a laugh, but failed, “What? I’ll do anything other than that,”
His friends behind him immediately began to mock him again.
“Then can you not talk to me?” you suggested, a tight annoyed smile on your face.
Hyunjin took a deep breath in, “Not that either,” You turned back to your tray, picking up some food and eating it in defeat, “You don't like that one?” Hyunjin asked more so to himself as he reached over to your tray and stabbed his chopstick through a pork cutlet and ate it.
You gasped in annoyance, “That’s my favourite side dish! I was saving it for last!” you scolded Hyunjin.
“Why would you do that?” He asked through gritted teeth.
“Why do you care about how I eat?”
He nodded his head rapidly, “Okay!” Hyunjin placed his chopsticks down, “I’ll only listen to you,”
Hyunjin leaned back in his chair to the other table where his friends were sitting, “Hey, bring the pork cutlets,” he requested as he clapped the order to them.
Not even a moment later Han Jisung appeared back at your table with a tray full of pork cutlets, “ta-da!” he exclaimed.
You looked up the Han, “you want me to eat all of this?” he nodded with a wide smile on his face.
Jihyo turned to Nayeon, “Is this a crush or a crash? I can't tell,”
Hyunjin joined in, “You need to eat more to grow taller, right?”
You huffed and slumped forward, your hair sliding over your shoulder and nearly into your rice.
“Woah, woah, woah,” Hyunjin pampered, he reached over your shoulder and tucked your hair behind your ear, “Don’t eat your hair though,”
You looked up to him, and noticed how close your faces were. Some girl across the cafeteria even taking a photo of the intimate encounter.
You pulled away and removed his bike key from your pocket. “Just take your key and don't sneak it into my pocket again,” you instructed.
“What would I do with it though… when my motorcycle is parked in front of your place!?” he announced loudly.
You groaned, resisting the urge to smack your head on the table repeatedly.
Later in the day, Hyunjin had followed you in the corridor, acting like some annoying child.
As you turned to tell him to go away, two younger boys bumped into your shoulder and knocked you down.
But before you could hit the ground, Hyunjin reached around and placed his hand on your head protectively, the other around your waist.
You stared at one another for a brief moment, as people began to pile out of classrooms and Hyunjin’s friends, also left the bathroom behind you.
The crowd ‘ooed’ at the interaction between you.
You sat up quickly, accidently head butting Hyunjin on the way. “What the-”
“Why did you catch me?!” you yelled, “I fell because of you!”
“I saved you!” he shot back.
You were annoyed, “I don't need saving! And please just listen to me! Take back your motorcycle key!
You turned around from Hyunjin and walked in the other direction, which is when Felix stopped you. He would have seen the whole interaction with you and Hyunjin just seconds prior.
“Are you alright?”
You nodded, “Yes,” and then ran off, not wanting anymore rumours to start.
After class you walked throughout the corridor, listening into the choir room where you could hear a clear angelic voice singing along to the piano. You peered in and saw a younger girl singing.
“Shes so good at singing,” you muttered to yourself.
But a few seconds later two girls stormed in from the other entrance, one of them slamming her hand down on the piano and telling the student to get out.
The other girl turned to the girl who was singing and slapped her.
You gasped in shock as her glasses fell off and fell to the floor. “Hey,” the bully said, “Didn’t I tell you not to give it your all? You're not actually thinking about taking the solo part are you?” she asked condescendingly, “Go tell the director right now that you can't,”
The girl shoved past her, her friends following as they left the room.
The young girl leant down and picked her glasses up slowly and defeatedly. You stared at her, feeling nostalgic about how you used to be.
She looked up and met your eyes, but immediately dropped her head and ran out the room through the other door.
After school, you and Nayeon travelled on the bus back home together, living not too far from one another.
“Do you have tutoring today?” you asked.
“Yes,” she nodded, “Two sessions at that,”
Nayeon accidentally dropped her phone on the floor, so you reached to grab it and pass it back to her, which is when you noticed her hands.
“What’s wrong with your hands?”
“What about them?” she questioned, immediately hiding them from you.
“They’re all cracked when it's not even winter,” you held her hands carefully, “hold on,” you reached into your bag where you knew you kept a hand cream.
You squeezed some onto the top of her hand and began to softly rub it into her skin, ensuring you were gentle with the cracked areas.
“What’s this for?” she smiled.
“You know, my mom owns a beauty shop right?” you grinned back.
The two of you laughed as you inhaled the sweet scent of the hand cream, the bus pulling to a stop.
A group of girls got on the bus, “What? Hey!” one of them called out.
You looked up and met eyes with Tzuyu. And you turned sickly white. You'd avoided her for so long, but you had now just run into her on the bus, with no escape.
Tzuyu moved closer, “Right… thought you were someone I knew,” she said as she got a closer look. She laughed, “sorry, my bad,”
Nayeon sensed your fear and immediately stood up, “Sir! We're getting off here!” she yelled.
Nayeon grabbed onto your hand and led the way, Tzuyu standing in the way of the aisle.
“Step aside so we can get off,” Nayeon said firmly. But Tzuyu just stared, so Nayeon shoved past her, dragging you along behind her.
You sat on the seat in the small bus stop, trying to regain your composure. “Why were you so terrified?” Nayeon asked, “do you know them?”
“What? Well…” you tried to think of an excuse, “they seemed like delinquents,”
Nayeon sighed in sympathy, “Hey, don't be scared of them. They act meaner if they know you're scared. Be brave next time, okay?”
As you arrived at home, you noticed Seungmin sitting on Hyunjin’s motorbike, acting as if he was riding it.
You slowly walked up to your brother and smacked the back of his head, “What are you doing?” you exclaimed, as you dragged him off of it.
“Careful! This is expensive!”
You groaned frustratedley, “What does he think he's doing leaving this here?”
Felix, however, sat at home hovering over your contact.
He'd deleted and retyped about twenty messages by this point.
What are your doing?
How are you?
Are you free?
But none of those messages felt right. He sighed and placed his phone in his hoodie pocket.
But he soon felt it humming and vibrating. Felix sat up straight as he rushed to take his phone out of his pocket.
His eyes widneded as he realised he had pocket-dialled you, and you'd answered.
“Hey! Come out already!” a male voice called on the other end of the phone, “she takes her sweet time removing her makeup. Hello?”
Felix furrowed his eyebrows, “isn't this Y/N’s number?”
“She’s in the shower,”
Felix was growing increasingly concerned, “Who are you?”
“The person showering next,”
A second later your voice sounded through on the phone.
“Jesus, Seungmin! I told you to flush after you go!”
“Who are you to tell me how to pee?”
“Seriously watch your mouth! What are you doing? Why did you answer my phone?”
You snatched the phone out of Seungmin’s hand and gasped at the name. Lee Felix. You immediately ended the call.
You ran back to your room and decided to call him. Actually, you this time.
“Hey,”
“I-I hung up by accident,” you lied.
“Was that your younger brother?”
“Yes… My younger brother,” you sighed.
“Want to meet up? I need my jacket back anyway,”
You tried to bite back your smile, but you couldn't help it, “Yes, I’ll be right out,”
You ended the call and immediately rushed to reapplying some soft makeup, despite just taking it off. You also changed into some decent clothes.
As you picked his jacket up off of the airer, you realised that it still hadn't dried. “Shit…” you muttered.
You arrived at the park empty handed, which is where you saw Felix crouched down near a patch of grass.
You crouched next to him, noticing the cat you often fed, “Were you waiting long?”
He shook his head, “No,”
You smiled and reached out for the cat, which happily took to your friendliness. He nuzzled against your hand.
“He seems to like you. He was feisty towards me,”
You nodded, “Yes. This cat has a temper. He's wary, but I fed him daily to earn his special treatment,”
Felix looked at you, “Even to a cat. You meddle in everything,”
The cat trotted away from the pair of you. “Still, it's sad he's alone because he's cold to everyone,”
Felix went silent for a second, before hesitantly speaking, “That sounds like me,” He stood up, and you shortly followed.
“So you know you're cold?” you asked, “At least you have your family. But the cat…”
“I don't have a family,” he said as he looked away.
You looked to him, noticing the change in his presence, “Do you live alone then?” to which he nodded, “Then do you cook at-” you cut yourself off. “I’m sorry, it's none of my business,”
“It’s okay,” he told you, “Why did you put makeup on?”
“What?”
“Earlier,” he began, “well, your brother said you showered,”
You laughed it off awkwardly, “I always shower before bed. I'll do it again when I get home,” Felix nodded. “Did you come all the way here to get your jacket?”
“Of course!” He responded, trying to seem nonchalant and unbothered, “What other reason would I have other than just to get my jacket?” You nodded, “It’s my favourite one. I'm very attached to it,”
“I'm really truly sorry! But it's not quite dry yet,”
Felix shrugged, “Can’t be helped,”
You nodded with a smile, “okay… then… bye!” you awkwardly said, beginning to slowly walk away.
But Felix didn't want you to leave just yet. “Wait! There's a basketball!”
He pointed to the ball which lay on the court next to you.
Felix began to show off a few tricks which did impress you to be honest.
“It’s nothing,” he smugly replied.
You ran over to him, “Can you make a shot?” you asked as you pointed at the hoop.
A few seconds later and Felix was aiming for the hoop, but he ultimately missed it, the ball bouncing off the backboard and to your direction.
“It’s flat! That's why,” Felix excused.
“You sure?” you smirked. You then aimed the ball and threw, it landing perfectly in the net.
The ball bounced towards Felix, “I was captain of the varsity team until last year,” he told you.
“Then why aren't you playing in the next game?”
“Just because,” he shrugged you off.
“Did you get cut from the team?” you theorised, “because you couldn't make shots?”
Felix looked over to you with a glare, before taking another shot; which he missed.
You giggled and began to attempt to dribble the ball towards Felix, but you ended up tripping over your own feet and straight into Felix’s arms.
He wrapped his arms around you as you fell into them. You stayed there for a second, eventually pulling away slightly to stare at one another.
But Felix pulled you back in to the hug, embracing you tightly, one hand softly around your neck.
A moment later though, he pushed you away after realizing what he was doing.
“Well…” he said, “How was it?”
You stuttered out your response, “What do you mean? The hug-”
“The scent!” He blinked out, “I got a new laundry detergent yesterday,”
“Laundy detergent?” you repeated.
“The ad said the scent lasts even after a workout,” Felix responded, digging the hole even deeper, “I just wanted to check,”
“Oh! It smelled amazing,” you responded awkwardly, “But why is your face-”
Young-jae happened to walk past at this exact moment, perfect timing, Felix thought.
Young-jae stopped to speak, but Felix ran over to him and tightly embraced him in a hug too.
“What are you doing?” Young-jae asked.
“How’s the scent? I got a new detergent,”
“Is it citrus?” the older man responded, “It’s fresh and nice,” he continued.
“Is that so?”
Young-jae pushed Felix off and began to inhale. “Yes! This is good. Is it an import? Hold still!” Young-jae dragged Felix back into the hug and began to smell him again.
After the awkward encounter, you and Felix decided to walk back in the direction of your house.
You turned towards him, “hey, you don't have to walk me home,”
“The bus stop is closer on the other side,” Felix answered.
You laughed it off, “I thought…”
Felix fell slightly behind you in step and noticed a small leaf which had landed on your other shoulder, which he picked up and held to himself.
You eventually arrived home with Felix, “We’re here,” he announced.
Felix’s eyes drifted down to the motorbike which was still sat outside the gate of your house.
“You should give it to me,” he stated.
“Your jacket? It's not dry yet,” you reminded him.
“No,” he said, as he turned to you, “the motorbike key. I'll return it to him,”
You shook your head, “No, I’ll give him the key. What if you fight again?”
Felix smiled, “It’s okay. Don't worry about it,”
The next day as you left the house you noticed Hyunjin’s motorbike had gone, which led you to this precise moment in P.E.
You turned to Felix, “Hey, I saw that Hyunjin took the motorbike right away,”
“Did he?” Felix replied, uninterested.
You furrowed your brows, but walked away towards Jihyo and Nayeon.
Changbin suddenly yelled, “Our Saviour Felix will play basketball again!”
Everyone turned to Felix, Minho even stepping forward, “Wait- Felix is going to play?”
You assumed this was the basketball match that was happening at the school festival this week, which Felix hadn't said anything about.
“Who's going to block that giant?” Minho said aloud, which is when he turned to Hyunjin who was sitting on the floor. “Hyunjin! You're good at basketball right?”
“What? Why?” he smirked, “I’m super good,”
“Then for our festival can you join our team to show off your super good skills?!”
“Then…” he turned his head in your direction, “I’ll have to ask Y/N first. Lately, I only listen to her,”
Everyone around squealed in excitement at Hyunjin’s words, while he stood up and walked nearer to you. “Do you want to see me play?”
“No, not at all,” you responded quickly.
“Not at all?”
Minho moved over to you and got down on his knees, “Please! Tell him to play! I really don't want to lose to Changbin’s team!”
You sighed, “Whatever! I don't care,”
After gym class. Hyunjin walked through the hallway, when his phone began to buzz.
“Hello? Yes that's me,” his eyes wideneded, “What? It's being towed?!”
He ended the call and spoke aloud, “What did you do now, Y/N?”
A second later, one of the hand balls from P.E was launched at his head.
He turned around and met eyes with Lee Felix, “What was that for?”
Felix nodded his head to the bucket if balls, “It’s your turn to tidy things up,”
Felix walked away, while Hyunjin muttered under his breath, “so childish,”
Felix stopped in his step, “Don't you want your motorcycle back?”
Hyunjin nodded, “I see. It was you who reported it then? You must have lost it,”
But Felix paid him no mind, “Just so you know, I have the key,” and walked away, leaving a frustrated Hyunjin alone.
You'd heard from other students about the girl who you had seen being bullied, Go-un, that she'd been cornered in the bathroom, by the same girls.
Now, you were going to take Nayeon’s advice.
You walked into the bathroom, just in time to see Go-un being shoved into one of the locker doors, so you grabbed the rag bucket, which was filled with dirty water and threw it on the three girls that tormented her.
“What the hell?! That's rag water!” the main girl shrieked.
“Your language is foul so I figured it needed cleaning!” you exclaimed, “Who are you to say such things to her? What's the use of a pretty face when your mind is disgusting?!”
“Aren’t you a junior?” she questioned, “who are you to get involved and make a fuss?”
Go-un stepped out of the cubicle she’d been shoved into, “Me? I’m her older sister. What now?”
Go-un ran past you and out the door, so you called out for her and chased after her.
She ran to the rooftop of the school, which flashed you back to that one night when you were in a similar situation.
You sniffed and walked over to her, passing her a cloth to wipe her eyes. “Like they said, do you think only certain people should get to perform on a stage?”
“Not at all,” you immediately responded, “she chose you because you're great. I heard you singing the other day too,”
“I thought that being talented would be enough, but if the audience laughs at my fave just like them…”Go-un began to cry at this point, “I’m scared my fave will turn my voice into a joke as well,”
You immediately jumped in to defend her, “They’re the ones in the wrong. You shouldn't have to give up anything. Don't run away because you're scared.”
Go-un turned to you, “But you’re pretty, so you wouldn't know how I feel,”
You looked down at your feet, if only she knew.
You stood there with her for a few more minutes, before she excused herself.
After school that day you sat at the bus stop, watching a makeup tutorial you thought would work well for Go-un.
“What are you watching?” Felix asked as he sat next to you at the bus stop.
“It’s a makeup tutorial,” you said, showing him the video on your phone. “There's this girl I cam across, I found her situation to be… unfortunate. I was wondering what I could do to help,”
“You’re meddling again,” Felix responded.
You nodded, “right…”
“But that kind of meddling could provide support to someone who needs it,” Felix continued.
You smiled, “to be honest, she reminded me of my old self. That must be why I feel drawn to her. I look worse than her without makeup of course!” you finished.
Felix looked at you, “That’s not true,”
“Sorry?”
“You look pretty even without makeup,” he repeated.
You blinked at him for a second, taken aback by what he had said.
The bus will arrive shortly
The bus pulled up to the stop and you quickly stood up, looking at Felix one last time before walking away.
As you sat on the bus you pulled out your phone, Felix’s messages open.
Y/N Are you heading home okay?
Felix pulled his phone out of his pocket and opened up the message, smiling to himself.
Y/N My sister gave me free movie tickets. If you have time after the festival tomorrow… do you wanna go watch a movie?
Felix’s eyes widnedned and the smile on his face was inevitable.
Felix Sure, let's do that.
You gasped in shock at his answer. You actually had a somewhat date with the Lee Felix.
Felix placed his phone down trying to hide the smile which rapidly made it’s way to his face.
Y/N So what should we watch?
Felix Is there anything you want to see?
Y/N How about a horror?
Felix stepped off the bus and began typing out one more message, but his phone began to ring.
Hwang Hyunjin
Felix furrowed his eyebrows but pressed accept, lifting his phone to his ear.
“Where are you?”
Felix walked the short walk back to his apartment, where Hyunjin stood outside waiting.
“You pulled a weird stunt, Felix. Give me my key,” he said firmly.
Felix reached into his pocket and threw him the key, “I like Kim Y/N,” Felix admitted, referring to the conversation the two boys had the other night.
“So? Should I congratulate you?”
Felix shook his head, “Don't use her because of me,”
“What if I’m not using her,” Hyunjin answered.
“Then you mean it's for real?” Questioned Felix.
“Why?” Hyunjin smirked, “worried I might take her from you?”
Felix cut Hyunjin off, “I know you think Chan died because of me,”
“That’s not a thought. It's a fact,” Hyunjin said matter-of-factly.
“So how long will you take it out on me?”
Hyunjin snapped, “Until you die! And meet Chan again,”
Felix nodded slightly, “I see,” he walked past Hyunjin towards the door.
“Does Y/N know?” Felix stopped in his tracks, “That you killed your friend? What would she think of you if she finds out?”
Hyunjin moved closer to the boy and spoke in his ear, “Never forget. You killed Chan and you don't deserve to smile,” After a pause, “You murderer,”
The next day, you arrived at the Eighth Annual Saebom High Festival, excited to experience your first one and also the date later with Felix.
You wandered around, looking at the various stalls and acts that were surrounding you. Marshall arts, cover groups, balloon stalls, festival games.
You heard commotion from across the walkway, people laughing and making comments about someone.
You looked through the crowd of people. Go-un. She'd done exactly what you had done the first time you attempted makeup. It was plastered in her face, with her eyebrows overdrawn, lips overlined with a hideous colour.
You gasped and immediately ran over to her, you grabbed onto her wrist and found an empty classroom for the two of you to settle into.
“I’m not confident doing this, because it's my first time doing someone elses makeup,” you informed Go-un, “but we can't let those girls bring you down and ruin it,”
“By the way,” Go-un piped up, “Do I look that weird?”
“You're pretty,” you affirmed, “You’re pretty, but let's touch it up a bit,”
Over the next twenty minutes, you spent time adjusting Go-un’s makeup. Ensuring it was subtle, but glittery enough for her solo stage in the musical performances.
And if you did say so yourself, you did a great job.
You walked into the auditorium after bidding Go-un goodbye and good luck to find an empty seat. A seat which is just happened to be a gap between you and your brother.
The lights dimmed and the stage lights grew brighter, revelling the choir, with Go-un at the front.
You smiled and clasped your hands together in excitement.
“I didn't know they had such a pretty girl in the choir!” one of Seungmin’s friends whispered.
Seungmin, however, was sat there awed by the young girl who stood in the centre of the stage; his jaw literally dropped.
Eventually Go-un stepped forward from the group and began to sang her solo.
She was incredible. Her voice and the emotion behind it all was so imoactful, a few tears brimmed at your eyes from it all.
As the singing finished everyone stood up to applaud, giving Go-un the attention she deserved.
Once the audience made their way out, you stood in the foyer waiting around Go-un as her teacher praised her.
“Unnie!” she yelled, as she waved and began to run over to you.
You waved back and embraced her in a tight hug, “You were amazing!” you told her, holding onto her hands.
Go-un looked over your shoulder and called out, “oppa!”
Hwang Hyunjin?
Hwang Hyunjin currently stood next to you as he passed flowers to Go-un, “Hwang Hyunjin?” you questioned.
His eyes widened as he noticed who you were, “You two know each other?”
“How do you know my brother?” Go-un turned to you.
“He’s your brother?” you repeated back to the two.
But before you could converse anymore, Jihyo had run up to you and called out your name numerous times. “Please help me out!” Jihyo begged, “Nayeon said she can’t make it anymore!”
“Oh! Yeah, sure! See you around, Go-un!” you said as Jihyo dragged you away, soaring one last glance to Hyunjin.
Jihyo led you to the locker room, “You look extra pretty today, who are you trying to impress?”
“I'll tell you later,” you smiled.
She whined back, “You're being a tease!” Jihyo then turned around and picked up a pig mascot outfit, “Ta-da!”
You grinned as you looked at it, it was extremely cute. Like the big Mickey Mouse mascot outfits at Disney, but a pig! And a much cheaper budget!
“Get changed, and I’ll go and grab some drinks!”
Five minutes later, you'd changed into the onesie part of the pig outfit, holding the mascot head in your hands.
As you walked to leave and open the door, you opened it to Felix, who stormed in.
“You’re here!” you smiled. But Felix brushed past you and walked inside the locker room, “How did you sleep? Remember the girl I told you about? The girl who reminded me of old me?”
But you stopped talking when you realised Felix was paying you no mind. He continued to unpack his bag on one of the benches.
“Are you feeling alright?” you asked. He ignored you again, “Did something happen? What’s up with you?”
Felix threw his jacket on the bench and turned to you, “What?”
You stared at him, “You said we’d go to the movies,”
“Why would I watch a movie with you?” He bit back quickly.
You looked at him blankly, “What?” you uttered.
Felix looked down at you, “Don’t kid yourself. I was only being nice to you because I pitied you,” Felix said harshly, then he turned back to his bag and began to unpack.
The words hit you like a truck. “Why would you… pity me? Because you know my secret? You found me pitiable for kneeling at your feet?”
“I did,” Felix spoke simply.
“That’s why you told me I look pretty and looked out for me,” you looked down at the floor as Felix kept his back to you.
“I did!” He turned back to you, “But now it's bothersome and annoying! I no longer,” he hesitated for a second, “want to care about you anymore, so leave,”
Your eyes never left him as they welled up with tears, “I never realised but you're meddlesome! I never asked you to look after me. I never asked you to care for me. I won't bother you anymore, so you can stop your pity,” you finished, turning away with tears running down your face.
As you walked out, Hyunjin was stood next to the door, but you were too tunnel-visioned to even notice him, as your tears blurred your vision.
You walked into the gymnasium with the pig mascot outfit on, feeling the warm tears still on your cheeks. Even more so when Felix walked in late.
The game had started and Felix was dominating the game, compared to Hyunjin. However, he eventually caught up.
The two teams battled it out the entire game; making it more and more competitive, purposefully targeting each other as the game went on.
But all you could think about is where it all came from? Felix was never like that; well he never seemed like that.
Felix scored one last basket just before the final buzzer sounded, ultimately ending the game with Felix and Changbin winning, Hyunjin’s team losing.
After Changbin’s attempt to celebrate with Felix (which was ignored) you watched Felix make his way over to Hyunjin.
They spoke lowly and quietly, no one ever knowing what was said between them.
“You were right,” Felix said to Hyunjin, “It’s all because of me and it's all my fault,”
Hyunjin looked at Felix and stood up, so they were now eye level.
“So you can take it out on me all you want,” Felix said, “But, don't play Kim Y/N,”
Hyunjin sighed, but Felix persisted, “I won't hold back then,” Felix walked away from Hyunjin, and walked straight out if the gymnasium.
Later that night, Nayeon had finally made it to the festival, making it just in time for the music performance outside.
“Shall we sit near the front or back?” Jihyo asked, she scanned the area, “Let’s sit over there!”
Jihyo then proceeded to drag you and Nayeon to some empty seats near the side of the seated area.
“The next song is not well known,” the singer explained, “but it's from the late Bangchan, of whom I was a huge fan of. In memory of Bangchan, who left us a year ago, I dedicate this song to him,”
The song that was played was a soft and gentle song, something so melodic and simple-yet beautiful- for someone who was going through a harsh time.
Nayeon soike up, “Why did they have to pick this song? I bet Hyunjin will pick another fight with Felix,”
Jihyo leaned in, “Why? Did he have something to do with Bangchan?”
“Those three were close. Lee Felix, Hwang Hyunjin, Christopher Chahn Bang,” Nayeon turned to you, “Did Felix ever mention that?”
“What?” you asked.
“Right… they were,” Jihyo nodded, “Now that I think of it, they were,”
Felix walked into the outdoor concert area from the side, staring at the stage as he heard the familiar melody.
He looked at the stage and all he saw was his hyung. Not the man who was actually on stage, he saw Chan staring back at him, singing.
Felix walked out of his apartment, messaging Chan.
Felix Are u done with practice?
Felix walked towards the car where his father’s manager stood outside of it, on the phone.
“Reporter Choi, Mr Lee is too busy to be dating these days. He’s just had a few drinks after the shoot that's all… What do you mean by prostitution? That's absurd! Of course not!”
Later that night, Felix sat in his chair as he thought about what he heard, lost in thought.
On his table, his phone began to ring. He looked over to read the contact name.
Chan
Felix walked away from the table, leaving his phone to ring for the remainder of the dials.
As Felix left his bathroom after his shower that night, he looked at his phone, picking it up.
And not even five minutes later he was out the door and sprinting through the streets of Seoul.
He ran to that building, where reports and the paparazzi were gathered; the flash and clicks of cameras and fuss, while ambulance and police lights blitzed red and blue.
Felix pushed through the crowd listening to the various comments from onlookers, who stood behind the crime scene tape.
“I heard Christopher Chahn Bang killed himself,”
“From the boy band? Goodness!”
Felix’s head snapped to the women next to him, which solidified his thought if crouching under the police tape and running into the scene.
The police immediately grabbed onto Felix and stopped him from going any further.
Felix looked through the various workers, as he saw a white sheet being wheeled out.
As the trolley went over a small bump, a bloody hand and wrist fell over the side of the trolley.
A wrist which wore the matching bracelet he, Hyunjin and Chan wore.
The arm was quickly put back under the cover of the white sheet.
But that was enough confirmation for Felix. His best friend was dead.
Felix practically buckled under his weight, his legs giving out.
You turned to Nayeon and Jihyo, “I have to go,”
Before even giving them a chance to protest, you were up on your feet and away from the group, walking into Felix, who was hunched over, struggling to breathe.
You ran over to him, “Felix?”
He looked up to you, with tears in his eyes. Felix attempted to walk away, but his legs soon gave out, as he leant on a nearby wall to support him.
You walked over to him again, placing a hand on his arm, “Are you alright?”
After a second, he spoke, “Leave. I said leave!” he yelled.
You were taken aback by his sudden aggressiveness as you attempted to support him.
Before you even had the chance to leave, Felix was running away himself. You watched him leave with tears in your eyes.
As you arrived at home you collapsed in your bed, laying straight down. But your dad soon came in, to deliver the dried washing that was hanging outside.
You walked over to the pile, as you were planning on organising it. But Felix’s jumper caught your eye.
You picked it up and examined it closely, which is when the label caught your eye.
LF
“Where have I seen this before?” You wondered, thinking closely to any times you'd been near one of these jackets, near enough to see anyway.
And then it hit you.
The rooftop that one night. The blonde stranger who saved you. He wore the jacket with the same lettering on the collar tag. It was Felix.
Felix was the one who saved you. You thought back to the conversation and how you questioned him about if he knew someone who has jumped.
It all made sense now and you had to go and get to Felix, now.
You ran through the streets of Seoul to that very same building. You stood in the elevator and took it to the top floor, running up to the terrace as you arrived.
You opened the exit door and searched the rooftop, which is where you saw Felix.
He was vulnerable. His arms hugging his legs as he cried inconsolably. You ran over to him and immediately crouched down next to him.
Felix looked up at the sudden movement next to him. His eyes were glossy and his cheeks were tear-stained.
“It was here…” he cried, “from here,” Felix met your eyes, “Chan-hyung,”
You nodded, as you also felt your own tears coming along, “I know,” you looked at him, “I understand,”
You leaned over and wrapped Felix into your chest, embracing him tightly as you both cried together.
Felix grieving his friend and this exact spot, while you felt empathy for Felix, and grieved how you were once in Bangchan’s position.

TRUE BEAUTY MASTERLIST
That night when Hyunjin spotted Felix, it took him back to that night with Bangchan.
As Hyunjin drove back on his motorbike, he sped past a memorial.
Bangchan’s memorial.
Hyunjin was scrolling on his phone when the news reports flashed up. People coming forward as they spoke about what Bangchan did to them. The bullying, but Hyunjin refused to believe it.
Hyunjin ran out of the apartment building, on his way to find Chan, which is when he saw the news reporters crowding around him. He pushed through the crowd and reached Chan, who wore a face mask and his hoodie.
“Where are you going?” He grabbed onto Chan’s arm.
Chan looked down, his eyes watery, “To Felix,”
“What?”
Chan grabbed onto Hyunjin, “Felix will believe me. And if he believes me, Mr Lee will hear me out!” Chan cried.
“Then let me come with you,”
Before the two could say anymore, news reporters ran forward begging for answers and statements towards the victim who had spoken out.
Hyunjin fought them off holding them back. By the time he turned away, Chan had gone.
Hyunjin ran into the funeral home, his eyes already holding the pain he daren't express.
He rounded the corner into one of the rooms, which is when he saw it.
A photo of Bangchan, with his name displayed.
“Chan-hyung,” Hyunjin breathed as he cried, collapsing onto his knees.
As Hwang Hyunjin walked into the classroom early that morning, he noticed his helmet sat on his desk.
He walked to his desk which is where he realised it was full of sweets, with a note on top.
‘I’m sorry!’
Which is what partly led him to sitting next to you in the cafeteria, which is also what led him to this precise moment.
The cafeteria was frozen, as they watched Felix and Hyunjin face each other off.
Felix didn’t respond to Hyunjin’s ‘seriously?’. He just continued to stare the elder boy down.
Hyunjin sighed as he looked away for a moment, as he knew Felix was not going to lose his grip.
Hyunjin pushed Felix’s arms off of him and swung a punch, hitting Felix square in the jaw.
The cafeteria erupted into gasps of shock, as Lee Felix fell to the floor.
But just as quickly, Felix stood straight back up and grabbed back onto Hyunjin’s jacket, lifting his arm up to swing too.
“Punch me,” Hyunjin told Felix, as he held his fist high, “Go ahead, punch me,”
As Felix moved to punch Hyunjin, a teacher burst into the cafeteria, “What are you two doing over there? Break it off!” The teacher yelled.
Felix pushed Hyunjin away, but they continued to stare one another down.
Felix and Hyunjin stood in the teachers office next to one another as they received their telling off. More like, as Hyunjin received the blame.
“Hwang Hyunjin, what are you thinking? After all that hassle, you quit that boy band. Now are you trying to become a gangster?” Hyunjin sighed and looked away.
The teacher continued, “What kind of student has a fight on school property?” The teacher stood up from his seat, “What if we have to hold a hearing? Do you want to get expelled?”
Felix interrupted, “I started it,”
“Oh, Felix. Why would you protect him?” The teacher asked. Even Hyunjin turned to look at Felix, just as confused.
The teacher turned back to Hyunjin, “You even took time off to care for your mother, but what a sight you are now,” Hyunjin physically stiffened at the mention of his sick mother, “How can a mother not get sick when her son acts out like this?”
Hyunjin stepped forward about to lash out at the teacher, when Mr Choi stepped forward to break it up.
The principal walked into the office, “Since, Felix said he’ll forgive him, let’s wrap this up here!” The teacher nodded, “Felix, you have a Math Olympiad the day after tomorrow, you should take care of yourself,” The principal spoke kindly, “You may go now,”
Felix hesitated for a moment, due to Hyunjin not being excused, but ultimately bowed and left the office.
As Felix walked through the halls, Nayeon sat and waited for him. As he strolled past she stood up, “Are you alright? You're hurt,” she commented, looking at his lip which was slightly bloody.
Felix continued walking, so Nayeon fell in step with him, “Why didn't you get beaten up and get your arm broken? Then I’d win the Math Olympiad,” she joked.
Felix only slightly turned his head, “Leave if you're here to ramble,”
“You should have thrown him to the ground while you were at it. That way he won't try anything with you ever again,” Nayeon informed Felix, “You really learned jiu-jitsu for nothing. You haven't changed a bit, you're still a giant pushover,” She continued. “Seriously, what happened between you two? Is it because of Bangchan?”
Felix stopped walking, looked at Nayeon with a glare then turned back to walk away, but she grabbed his wrist.
“Hey,” he looked back at her, “Put this on,” she pushed a small bottle of antiseptic cream into his blazer pocket. And with that he walked off.
As soon as you sat down in class before the lesson started you were crowded by the entire class and a few others from different homerooms.
“Y/N, I heard both Lee Felix and Hwang Hyunjin like you,” one girl stated, everyone nodded in agreement, “Who are you going to pick?”
You shook your head, “there's nothing to choose,” you told everyone.
Changbin started a group drum roll, eventually silencing them all. “Will it be saviour Felix or Hyunjin Almighty? Who will you pick?!” Changbin asked.
“It’s not like that,” you reassured everyone, including yourself, “The two towers wouldn't like me. I hear they don't get along, that's why!”
But everyone spoke up in disagreement, so Changbin clapped three times as he shushed the crowd.
“By the way, why did Mr Hwang sit next to Ms Kim? That's what I'd like to know,” Changbin said dramatically.
The crowd immediately burst into discussion, but Jihyo stood up and stopped it. “Hey! If Y/N says no, then that's it!” she defended you, “Go back to your classes or seats!” She shooed everyone away.
As everyone began to leave Jihyo turned to you, “All this trouble because you're too pretty. If this was an average looking girl, there'd be no such rumours. It must be tiring,” she sighed.
“It’s Felix,” Someone from the class called as Felix walked in and immediately moved to his desk.
But only a few moments later, Hyunjin’s friends burst into the room. “Lee Felix!” Han said, “Meet us outside,”
Outside, Han and the others approached Felix.
“Hey, Felix. Who are you to start something with Hyunjin? What will you do if Hyunjin gets suspended because of you?” Han asked, “You grabbed him first so wasn't it self-defence?”
“Are you pretending to be gangsters?” Felix asked, as he looked at the group behind Han.
Felix sighed and turned around, going to leave, but Han grabbed onto him. “Where do you think you're going?” Han threw a pathetic punch, if you could even call it that, which Felix caught.
He attempted to throw one with his other hand, but Hyunjin had stepped in. “That’s enough,” he warned Han.
Felix and Hyunjin made eye contact as they stared each other down.
The same teacher who broke up the fight earlier, came outside. “Hey, you punks!” He yelled loudly.
Everyone let go of one another, turning to look at him. “Are you acting up again?!”
Hyunjin’s friends immediately moved forward to apologise.
“Han Jisung, always meddling,” Hyunjin sighed as he looked at Felix.
They were punished with cleaning the gymnasium after school. But the only person who was actually doing this was Felix.
Hyunjin sat on a step as he watched Felix closely, while Han and the others were throwing a ball about.
“Hey, Felix! I was worried you might die by my punch, so I went easy on you, right?” Han told Felix, who continued mopping the floor.
Han and the others left the gymnasium, leaving Felix and Hyunjin; who had gotten up from his seat and began to leave the gymnasium.
Felix stopped him on his way out, “What do you want from me?” Felix asked.
Hyunjin looked to Felix, “What do I want? Stay out of my sight,”
“You stay away if you don't want to see me,” Felix snapped back, “I have no reason to run from you,”
Hyunjin puffed out a laugh, “You're so shameless,” he shook his head, “I see that that's your true nature,”
Hyunjin began to leave again, but Felix spoke up once more.
“That night, when Chan came to see me,” Hyunjin’s head snapped to Felix.
“What now?” Hyunjin asked bitterly. After Felix stayed silent, Hyunjin moved closer, “Making excuses after all these years? Do you have any idea what his final words to me were? ‘Felix will believe me’”
Hyunjin stared Felix down for one moment, “He didn't know how cold and selfish you really are,” Hyunjin yelled. “He had faith in you, so he ran to you. So don't you ever mention Bangchan’s name again,”
And that was final. Hwang Hyunjin turned and left the gymnasium, leaving Felix to think about that night.
You walked into the comic shop that night, coming across a solemn Felix who sat there. “I was passing by and saw you in here. Here, drink this,” you handed him his favourite drink, a slight smile coming to his face.
You sat down in the singular sofa, “I saw Hyunjin leave school earlier. Did you clean the gym by yourself?” you asked, “And you just let him go? Why did you get into a fistfight like a bunch of kids?” You bit into your snack, “Nevermind,” you shook your head, “I wrestled with my brother a few days ago, I’m one too talk. I fight daily too,”
Felix stayed silent as he continued to look at the floor, you continued trying to boost his mood, “When me and my brother fight, my mom makes us do this one thing to patch things up,” Felix slightly turned his said, “‘I love you’” was all you said.
Felix head quickly snapped to you, “We say that repeatedly, and then clip clip clip,” you explained to him, as you pinched your toes.
“You trim each others toenails?”
You chuckled, “It tickles so it naturally eases the mood,” you explained.
Felix let out a small laugh as he looked away. “Oh! Did you just smile?” you asked. Felix immediately dropped his face. “This is my first time seeing you smile,”
“No! I didn't smile,” He defended himself quickly.
You sighed, changing the topic, “I’m not sure what happened before, but if you feel like talking to someone, let me know,” you informed Felix. He stared at you intently for a minute, almost softly. “Anything for the Saviour Felix,” you said sarcastically.
“Saviour Felix?” He questioned.
You nodded, “They call you the Saviour of Saebom High,”
Felix spoke his next words with a bitter taste, “I’m hardly a saviour,” He then turned to you, his voice turning stern, “Don’t call me that,”
“Why not?” You asked, “You are Saviour Felix to me! For keeping my true face a secret!”
You stood up and began to browse the comics, Felix following shortly after.
He picked one up opposite you and flicked through the pages. “Does it bother you that much?” He asked, “Your face without makeup?”
He began walking closer to you, “Don’t all girls look different with makeup on?” As you picked a comic from the top shelf, Felix caught the pile on top from falling over, leaning over you slightly to stop the fall.
“You can't ever say that somewhere else,” you responded, browsing through the comic with total obliviousness to how close Felix was, “I look especially different,”
Felix looked at you, “Beats me. Couldn't tell,”
You looked up at him, meeting his eyes. “Are your eyes working? How can you not tell? I tried so hard to study makeup!” You leaned in closer, growing up close to his face.
Your eyes drifted down his face to his lips, where a gash was across the bottom lip. “You got hurt?” You reached up gently, caressing his bottom lip subconsciously, “That looks painful…” you muttered.
After a brief moment, Young-jae walked in and stood at the door, “You two shouldn't read adult comics, okay?”
Felix jumped back, causing the comic books he was holding back to fly on the shelf and land straight on your head.
Young-jae left the room after seeing the two of you part.
Felix turned towards you, “You should hurry home. Do you know what time it is?” He placed his hands on your shoulders as he began to direct you out.
“Its not even eight!”
“Hurry home and study!” Felix practically pushed you out of the comic shop, turning back to himself.
“What was I even saying…?” He muttered to himself. He watched where you had just exited, then sighed.
The next day at school, Hwang Hyunjin pulled up next to you on his motorbike. He removed his helmet and turned to you, “Hey Y/N,” he said, you looked at him, “Are you seeing Felix?”
You shook your head quickly, “No, I’m not,”
“You’re not?” he thought back to that moment in the park.
“No! Never!”
He leaned closer then nodded his head, “I can see that,”
Hyunjin steoped off his bike and began to walk away. “He can see that? See what?”
Your first lesson was maths. Definitely a weak subject for you. You'd practically been zoned out for the whole lesson.
When the teacher spoke, “Who wants to come up and solve the next one?”
Everyone immediately began yawning and avoiding eye contact with her, but she scammed the room, she sighed, “I’m at fault for asking. How about the maths genius couple, Felix and Nayeon?” she cooed as she pointed at them, “Solve question one and two… and then… Y/N for question three!”
You bit your lip and closed your eyes, knowing you could not solve these questions.
You hesitantly stood up and made your way to the front, coming to stand next to Felix who was already halfway through his equation.
You stared at the board uselessly, trying to look at what the others beside you were doing.
Hyunjin eyed the back of you and Felix, furrowing his eyebrows as he thought about the two of you, but he shook his head with a sigh, “Of course no, no way,”
You leaned into Felix, “Hey, Felix. Hell me out!”
He turned to briefly look at your question but didn’t speak. “Just the formula please?” He looked at your question, “Saviour Felix!” You whispered.
He looked away and wrote the last part of his answer, placing his chalk down and leaving the board with one last glance at you.
The teacher stopped him, “You'll take first place again I’m sure,” Nayeon turned her head slightly to look at the praise he received, “The principal has high hopes for you,”
Felix just moved past her and continued to his seat, Nayeon also finishing a moment later.
The teacher moved over to you, where your side of the board was still empty.
“Y/N? What's the use of peeking at a different question?”
“Right,” you awkwardly laughed.
A loud laugh also sounded from the back of the room, everyone’s head snapped to the culprit.
“Hyunjin must know how to solve this!” Hyunjin yawned and laid his head down on the desk, trying to avoid the teacher, “That’s not going to work, come up!” She instructed.
Everyone laughed as Hyunjin groaned, also reluctant to stand up.
You walked with Nayeon and Jihyo through the courtyard, you sighed, “No college would take me if I gave up on maths, right?”
Jihyo turned to you, “You could make up for it with other subjects,”
But you just shook your head at her idea, “I don't think I’ll be able to go to college,” you said pessimistically.
“Do you want to come to our math academy? All the smart kids, including Nayeon and Felix go there,” Jihyo asked.
You turned to Nayeon who nodded, “My mother asked me to find one anyway!”
Jihyo jumped back in, “Come join us, we have a study group afterwards, and you can join that too!”
“That'd be great,” you smiled.
You guys saw Felix sat on a bench you were about to walk past, so Nayeon called out, “Felix, do you want to join our study group? We have one last spot open,” she informed him.
He kept his eyes on the book he was reading, “No,”
“I need you to join so my mum will agree to it without nagging,” Nayeon complained.
But Felix didn't care, “Just tell her I’m in the group,” Felix stood up from the bench and closed his book.
“You want me to lie?” Nayeon snapped, “Just join us,” Felix however, just walked off from the three of you. “He’s playing hard to get,” Nayeon commented, as you turned to watch Felix leave.
Jihyo turned to the pair of you, “I knew he'd be like this. It's just the three of us and Changbin,”
Nayeon nodded, “Alright, we’ll study together as soon as Y/N starts,” you nodded, when Nayeon pointed at Jihyo, “I’m kicking you out if you skip a session for a date!”
“Okay!” Jihyo whined. She then turned to you excitedly, “Right, I gave the guy your number!”
“Already?” You asked.
Felix stopped dead in tracks just to the side of the group, as he heard the current conversation.
“He’ll contact you soon,” Jihyo added, “Look, he's super dreamy, right?” She showed a picture of him on her phone.
Nayeon spoke up, “It’s his personality that matters. Decide things after meeting him,”
“I don't think I’m ready yet,” you exclaimed, “I’m being dogged by rumours as is. Should I just meet him?”
Jihyo cheered, “That’s a great idea!”
Felix’s head snapped to the three of you, watching as Jihyo encouraged this. He then walked away with a sigh.
You got on the bus that night, sitting on the back row which was currently empty.
However, a moment later, Felix was walking up to you and taking a spot on the back row too. “Why are you..?”
“Going to Prince Comics,” he finished for you.
“You read a lot of comics,” you commented, as he looked forward, “How do you still manage to be at the top of the class?”
You reached into your bag and pulled out a small chocolate bar, “A good luck for your exam tomorrow,” you told Felix.
He looked at you, “I don't like sweets,” but a moment later, he snatched it out of your hands and placed it in his pocket.
You smiled as he returned to looking away. Your phone pinged with a notification.
Hi, it's Mingi here
“The blind date guy texted me!” you said out loud. Felix’s head snapped in your direction.
You opened the messages
Hi it's Mingi here. When would you like to meet?
Felix huffed, “You should be studying, not going on blind dates,”
You hushed him, “I’m learning the ways of life,” You informed, “If this goes well, my boyfriend might go to a prestigious college and would tutor me. I'll get both a boyfriend and good grades,”
Mingi Shall we meet tomorrow? When’s good for you?
“Tomorrow,” you spoke aloud, “Do people usually go on dates in the evening?” you asked Felix.
Without even missing a second he responded, “During daytime. When it's very bright out,” he lied.
“I see!” you nodded.
Y/N I like the daytime
Felix observed you, “You're liking this too much,”
“No, I’m not,” You answered, “This is all because you and Hyunjin fought in front of me. It's because of those rumours,” you complained to Felix.
“If you don't like it you don't have to go, do you?” He asked.
You sighed, “It’s not that. I’m just nervous,” you placed your phone down for a moment, “Actually, it’s my first time meeting a guy alone,”
“Aren't you meeting me alone right now?” Felix turned to you.
The bus harshly braked almost sending you flying forward into the seat in front, but Felix put his arm out in front of you protectively, stopping you from headbutting the seat in front of you.
You both stared at eavhother for one moment, until your phone pinged snapping both of you out of the glance.
Mingi How about this movie?
“I’ve been really wanting to see this movie!” You said quietly to yourself.
Suddenly, a man came out of nowhere and squeezed himself into the middle seat of the back row, forcing you and Felix apart.
He sighed as he tried to spy around the man’s back, as he tried to steal a glance at your phone.
A moment later, Felix pressed the STOP button, grabbed his bag and began to exit the bus.
“You said you were going to Prince Comics?” But Felix continued to walk off the bus. “Good luck tomorrow!” you called, but Felix just ignored you, stepping off and leaving.
You sighed, you were confused. Felix had been acting strange lately.
You arrived home and removed your face of makeup after the long day at school. You walked into your mother's beauty salon, where she was serving a loyal customers of hers.
“There’s the Y/N I know! I had no idea when you had your makeup on!” the lady stated.
You laughed it off awkwardly, then turned to your mother, “I’ve washed my face, can you give me a facial now?” you asked.
“I’ve already said no! I'm busy!” she responded.
“They don't take long though!” you complained.
The bell above the door rang and your mother looked over and gasped in surprise.
You turned to also see who had shown up, and gasped. But not positively. Hwang Hyunjin had just walked in with his mother.
And you had no makeup on.
You snatched the face mask bowl out of your mother's hands as she was distracted and ran behind the half wall just beside you and rapidly began applying the charcoal mask.
“This is my son,” Hyunjin’s mother introduced him.
Hyunjin bowed and smiled, “Hello,” he said warmly.
Your mother smiled and clapped her hands, “My goodness gracious. What made you turn out this handsome?”
Hyunjin laughed politely, “Here’s my second daughter,” your mother gestured behind herself, expecting you to be there, but you had disappeared.
She peered around the wall, grabbed onto your arm and pulled you out. “What are you doing Kim Y/N?!” your mother scolded as she looked at the mask you had applied.
“Kim Y/N?” Hyunjin asked.
You came out of the half wall and smiled awkwardly, meeting eyes with Hyunjin.
Yours and Hyunjins mothers’ sat down next to each other on one of the sofa’s in the parlour.
You, however, had Hyunjin taking photos of you as you sat in a chair, with your facemask still on.
You sighed, stood up and spoke, “I’m going home,”
“You need to wash your face! You'll be scaring the whole town at this hour!” Your mother instructed. Hyunjin laughed at his phone and showed you one of the pictures of yourself.
You moved past him and into the bathroom of the parlour. I have to reapply my makeup at this hour, stupid Hwang Hyunjin.
A while later you left the bathroom, with a full face of makeup. You looked like the version Hyunjin knew.
As you walked out he followed in step behind you, as you approached your mother's.
“Y/N, you're so pretty! You must be popular,” Hyunjin’s mother said, “You two must be close since you're in the same class,”
You turned to look at Hyunjin, with an awkward smile, “No, not really,” you sighed.
Your mother patted Hyunjin’s mother, “Well, they can get to know each other better now!” She suggested, “You two are what they call model children. Now that we've met, why don't you come over tomorrow? I'll make a nice dinner for you,” She asked Hyunjin.
He bowed once more, a smug smile on his face. “I have study group tomorrow,” you informed your mother.
Hyunjin pointed at you, “I heard she's going on a blind date,”
You turned to look at Hyunjin. What was wrong with him?
“You’re too young to go on a blind date. That’s why you nagged me to give you a facial!” Your mother looked at you, shaking her head.
Hyunjin’s mother stuck up for you, “What’s wrong with that? They're a good age to try out dating! It would be nice for Hyunjin to get a girlfriend, but all he does is ride his motorcycle,” Hyunjin attempted to shush his mother, but was unsuccessful. “He hasn’t lately though,” she said happily.
It was your turn for revenge.
You pointed at Hyunjin, “He rides it every day!” you snatched, “He totally-”
But Hyunjin had slapped his hand over your mouth before you could speak anymore. But you managed to fight him off.
“He drives too fast! I almost got hit once!” You said dramatically.
His mother turned to him, “Is that true? You promised you wouldn't!”
“I mean, I already own it. And I’m saving on bus fares,” He sulked.
“You’re not to be trusted, Hyunjin,” his mother said, she then turned to you, “Y/N, please do me a favour. Make sure he doesn't ride his motorcycle! Let me know if you ever see him riding it, okay?” You smiled and nodded.
“Mom, why would you ask such a thing?” he complained.
“Trying to break your promise again?”
Hyunjin sighed and nudged you as his way of fighting against you.
Eventually, you left the shop alone. “I can't even come home without makeup on anymore…” you muttered, walking away.
“Hey!” Hyunjin said, stepping outside. “You’ll pay for it if you say a word to my mom,” he said seriously.
“Abour your motorcycle?” Hyunjin nodded, “Well, I made a promise to her so! And-”
“And?” he retorted.
“And how you were getting beaten up by-”
“What?” He cut you off again, unbothered.
“If that's not it… How you almost got into trouble for hitting Felix!?” You could tell you struck a nerve, so you immediately took it back. “No.. I won't, I’m good at keeping secrets,” you told him.
Hyunjin sighed and walked away from you, his phone in hand. As he moved further away he began to laugh at the photos of you. “This is so funny to look at,” he spoke aloud.
The next day you arrived at the coffee shop Mingi had suggested. You were nervous, extremely nervous. But you looked good, you wouldn't deny that.
You'd even tried a new makeup look that you thought looked really cute.
He saw you walk in and raised his hand, calling your name gently.
You smiled as you saw him, he was cute. Jihyo did a good job, you thought.
“Hello,” you greeted him shyly.
“Hi, please sit down,” he gestured to the seat opposite him, “You look prettier in person. I almost didn't recognise you,”
You laughed off his compliment, “I doubt that,”
“I’m serious,” he promised, “what would you like? This place has nice bubble tea,” Mingi asked you.
You nodded, “Yes, I like it!”
Not long after, you arrived at the cinema. You both approached the concession stand, “One popcorn, and two cokes please,” Mingi moved to pull his credit card out.
“Let me pay! You paid for the tickets,” you told him.
But he moved your hand away, “It’s our first date, so I’ll get it. That way, I can ask you out again,”
You smiled at his words as he began to walk away and collect the popcorn which was already ready.
Lee Felix may have followed you two here…
Not in a creepy way! But he wanted to see what happened. So he sat a few rows back from the central split to allow people to walk through, with a flat cap on his head.
You two walked into the screening, and Felix immediately looked down and covered his face.
You walked straight past him and down into the front few rows, where he watched.
Felix could not tell you a single thing he saw during that movie. But he could tell you every interaction between you and Mingi that had happened.
After the film finished, he let you two leave first, then trailed slowly behind you. He'd kept his cover this whole time, so he wasn't going to blow it now.
You stepped outside and walked into the square, “I’d like to walk you home, but I have a meeting back on campus,” Mingi told you as he stopped walking.
Felix walked out of the building just to see you two talking. “It’s alright,” you reassured him, “You should get going,”
“Thanks,” Mingi smiled, “You’ll go out with me again, right?” he asked boldly.
“What?” You responded shocked, it finally registered in your brain what he had said, so you laughed, “Yes! Sure,”
“I’ll text you later,” Mingi brought a hand up to your cheek, caressing it softly, “Get home safe,”
Felix was physically taken aback at Mingi’s sudden gesture.
Now, Felix wasn't a jealous person. He didn’t get jealous, but the way he felt right now? There was only one word to describe it.
You turned around and left, walking away from Mingi and further away from Felix. Thank God.
Felix sighed, as he looked at his feet, “This is so lame, what am I even doing?”
All of a sudden another woman appeared in front of Mingi.
“Were you waiting long, babe?” The woman asked.
“I wanted to see you faster, so I got here early,” Mingi responded.
Felix breathed out in shock. What the actual hell?
On your way home, you texted Jihyo all about it. And she had plenty of questions. You even received a text from Mingi asking if you were okay and that he missed you.
As you walked through the door, you moved to sit at the table in the dining room, your mom turning to speak to you from the sofa.
“Are you coming from your blind date?”
“Blind date?!” Your dad questioned, he was always pretty late to news like this.
You responded, “Mom, Jihyo said you can postpone studying but not falling in love.
“If you study hard and go to college, I would hook you up with a nice guy like Hyunjin,” was what your mother had to say.
You scrunched your face in disgust, “He’s a total delinquent!”
“A delinquent?” your dad got involved, “Do not meet a guy like that,” he warned.
“What are your talking about? He's such a good boy,” your mom countered, “When his mom was on the mend after her kidney transplant, he took care of her for months,” She began, “He worked part time jobs to cover his own tuition. He even helped with the hospital bills!”
You were quite shocked at the news, that Hyunjin actually had a heart, “Really?”
Your mother sighed, “He’d be perfect if he didn't ride that motorcycle. Mrs Hwang is awfully worried about him,” She then turned back to you, “Her husband actually passed away in a traffic accident,”
You gasped and turned to look back to your mother, you clearly weren't suppose to know that. “Don’t mention this to Hyunjin!”
“If he's such a good boy, why won't he listen to his mom?”
Later on, you stood in the bathroom, cleansing the makeup off of your face.
“What’s up with you? You're happy,” Sana commented as she walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth.
“Well, I went on a blind date…” you smiled.
“Look at you all grown up and going on dates!” She cooed.
“Hey, Sana. When should I reply to if I’m playing hard to get?” You asked her.
She spat her toothpaste out. “I don't like games. Don't keep him waiting. Text him back,” she told you firmly, as if she was speaking from her own experience.
Your phone pinged not even a moment later.
Mingi Forget what I said about missing you. I have a girlfriend and I’m a bastard for trying to cheat on her with you. I sincerely apologise.
Sana looked over your shoulder, “You got dumped, but who does it like this?”
You gasped, “I got dumped?”
The next morning you walked into school and saw Hyunjin swinging his leg off his motorbike.
You grinned and snapped a photo. But he saw you and began marching over to you. “What do you think you're doing?” He asked.
“Your mom did ask me to report to her,” You shrugged as you examined the evidence.
He grabbed onto your wrist, “This is ridiculous. Are you my mom’s Mafia?”
You laughed, “More like her spy!”
“Same difference!” Hyunjin yelled, “They’re both bad guys, aren't they?”
Hyunjin huffed out a laugh and reached into his blazer pocket. He flipped his phone around and there you were with your charcoal mask on, some acne showing behind the gaps of the mask.
“You’re not the only person with leverage,” your mouth dropped at his phone, “Delete it when I ask nicely,” was the final thing Hyunjin said before he began to walk away.
“Hwang Hyunjin!” You chased after him and he began to also sprint, “Delete it!”
You ran after the boy, who was laughing. You also ran straight past Felix, who glared at the pair of you two together.
Inside the building, you moved throughout the corridors and rounded a corner, straight into Felix who poked your forehead, “Trying to face-stamp my jacket again?”
He dropped his finger, “Don’t get off track. Watch where you're going,” he said, with a somewhat jokey tone in there.
You sat at your desk before class and Jihyo and Changbin walked over. “Our girl in love!” Jihyo announced.
“It’s not like that…” you responded honestly.
“But you said you'd see him again?!”
Felix turned his head to listen to the conversation, “Well I got a text after… it turns out he’s a weird guy,” you sighed.
Jihyo gasped, “What? Why? Show me what he said!”
You pulled up the message chat and turned the phone around to Jihyo.
Jihyo read the messages out loud, Felix and now Hyunjin and his friend group listening in.
“You got dumped?” Hyunjin laughed, “Already? That was quicker than a 5G connection!”
You hushed him and turned back to Jihyo.
Mingi stood in the restroom nearby, on the phone to one of his friends. “The higherschooler was cute and all, but her body was whatever. She was so naive too, so she’ll be good for a short fling,”
All of a sudden, he was pushed back against the wall and a hand was slammed into the wall next to his head.
“Take that back,” Felix said lowly.
“I’m sorry! I take whatever I said back!” Mingi cried as Felix held him against the wall.
Felix ripped the phone out of Mingi’s hand and ended the calm he was on. “Who do you think you are?”
Felix snapped and bent his shoulder back. His jiu-jitsu was finally coming in handy, he thought.
Felix then spun him around so that one arm was locked behind his back. “My arm hurts! My arms get habitually dislocated!” Mingi yelped.
“Bastard,” Felix muttered.
During lunch, you moved into one of the common rooms with Jihyo and Changbin. On your left you noticed Hyunjin who was showing his friends something on his phone; something they found hilarious.
You gasped - you needed a plan fast. Your eyes caught sight of the motorbike keys in his pocket, so you took your chance as he looked at the phone, and swiped them straight from his pocket.
You made eye contact with him as he saw your hand in his pocket. Hyunjin furrowed his eyebrows and then looked down.
By the time he noticed what you had taken, you'd run for it. Hyunjin stood up and pushed a group of students out of the way as he chased after you.
You'd ran all the way out of the building and into the courtyard by the time he managed to catch onto you.
Hyunjin grabbed onto your arm, “Hand it over,”
You acted stupidly in response, “What do you mean?”
He nodded his head to your hand, which still held the keys. Before you even had time to respond, someone had grabbed your other arm.
You turned to look and met eyes with Felix, who then turned his gaze to Hyunjin.
“Why are you jumping in?” Hyunjin asked.
“What are you doing?” Felix asked back.
The two boys stared each other down, not even acknowledging your presence anymore. You were not having any more rumours about the three of you.
“You’re starting a fight again, right?” flicking your eyes between them, “Please don’t okay!? Here, there's your keys, I’ll give this back,” you placed Hyunjin’s bike keys in the breast pocket of his blazer.
You placed your hands on Hyunjin’s shoulder, “Lets part ways! You go this way,” you then turned to Felix, “You go that way!” pushing him in the opposite direction, “And I’ll go this way!”
You ran off before you could even grasp their reactions.
That night you reluctantly attend the study group with everyone. Jihyo seemingly happy for something like studying.
She opened the door to the study hall and everyone paused in the step, as they noticed Lee Felix who was sitting at the table waiting.
He glanced at the group and made eye contact with you. “you said you wouldn't join us,” Nayeon said.
“No, I said I didn’t want to,” he responded.
The group looked at each other and moved into their seats, you sat next to Felix.
Not even ten minutes into the session and you were stuck. Well actually, you were stuck since you opened your homework, tapping your pen on your forehead irritable with yourself.
“How can you not know this basic concept?” Felix asked looking at you.
“I never learnt the basics…” you trailed off.
Felix sighed and reached into his bag. He pulled out a notebook and began to write down on it, explaining the whole concept to you.
But you didn't take in a single word, far too distracted by Felix to listen to what he was saying, especially when he was being nice to you.
Just before you guys left, you and Nayeon had gone to the bathroom: Nayeon so she could wash her face, and you so that you could powder your face.
“By the way,” Nayeon spoke up, “When did you get so close with Felix? He's not the type to tutor anyone,”
“This is being close?” you asked curiously.
Nayeon turned her head to you, “By his standards,”
“I’m not really sure…” you lied, “Maybe he's helping me out because i'm so hopeless at maths,” you shrugged.
Nayeon scoffed a laugh, “What a show-off,”
You all left the study hall, Changbin cheering and then announcing, “to celebrate our first official study group-”
“Who wants to go to Coin Karaoke?” Jihyo finished for him.
You and Nayeon laughed, but nodded in response. Jihyo, being ever so excited, grabbed onto your arm and her boyfriend's, and pulled you both along.
“You’re not coming are you Felix?” Nayeon guessed.
He stopped and looked at her, “I can go for a little bit,”
Felix sat on the sofa in the karaoke room as he watched the four of you perform some girl-group song, which Changbin loved.
But that didn't matter to Felix. He couldn't take his eyes off of you as you sung. Every time he glanced over the group, his eyes landed on you.
You excused yourself for the bathroom, and on your way back to the karaoke room you heard a familiar song, sung by someone who was extremely talented.
You tried to peek in to get a glimpse if you knew them, but were unable to see them. You sighed and walked away from their room and walked past the window in the corner of the corridor.
You looked out into the street below, which is where you noticed a familiar motorbike and helmet.
You had to check this out.
You ran down the stairs and out the door, taking a closer look at the bike and helmet. “It is Hyunjin!”
You pulled out your phone to snap a photo, but halfway there a voice interrupted you. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing!” you squeaked.
He examined his bike carefully, “Did you do something?”
“No! I didn't even touch it!”
Before Hyunjin could even respond you spotted Felix stood in the shop downstairs, peering out the glass windows.
You gasped, and just in time you were able to duck down and drag Hyunjin with you around the side of the building.
“Let’s talk here!” you smiled, trying to seem normal.
“In secret?” Hyunjin questioned.
A voice yelled out from behind you, “Hey! Hwang Hyunjin!”
Hyunjin rolled his eyes and stepped past you. You turned to look who had called him and recognised the group of guys.
It was the same boys from the night you first met Hyunjin, when you first stole his helmet.
“Why are you coming from there?” Hyunjin asked.
“What do you mean? Why?” the leader of the grip then nodded at you with a smirk, “Who’s this? Why did you bring a girl to the back alley?”
Hyunjin glanced at you, and pushed you behind him protectively with his arm.
You looked at Hyunjin and then in front of you. That's when you made the rational decision to begin running again.
You latched onto Hyunjin’s arm and pulled him along, sprinting as fast as you could around the corner.
Lee Felix stepped outside the Karaoke place and watched as a girl that looked oddly like you, who was in school uniform, held onto Hyunjin while a group of guys chased you.
Felix set off running too.
Hyunjin had taken the lead somewhere, he now holding onto your hand as he led you through the back alleys.
Hyunjin quickly created a distraction to pose as though you had ran in a different direction, then hid himself and you behind a few crates.
The group of men came into the distraction and stood there. “That way!” they pointed, running in the opposite direction.
Felix followed them.
The group of boys ran into a dead end, Felix shortly following them. They turned around at the sound of footsteps, “Who’s this?” One of them asked rhetorically.
“This guy is from Saebom,” the leader said, noticing the familiar uniform. “Who are you? Why did you follow us?”
Felix turned to leave after he noticed you were not there, but the guys ran up to him and grabbed his shoulders.
“Where do you think you're going?”
“You a friend of Hwang Hyunjin’s?” one of them asked, “or his sidekick,”
“Get out my way,” Felix said to the two who now stood in front.
“I’ll let you go if you bring Hyunjin here,” the leader said.
Felix turned to face him, “Why would I?”
“If a friend called him, he'd come, wouldn't he?”
Felix shook his head, “He wouldn't take my call,”
“Take his phone,” the leader stated.
One of the men moved forward and began to search Felix’s pockets. But a second later, he grabbed onto the man’s wrist.
“You dare stop me?” he said.
The man lifted his fist, but Felix was quicker, and managed to catch it mid-air. “Let go,” the man warned.
Felix held his gaze and the man’s arm. The man swung for Felix, but Felix just stepped to the side, missing the punch nonchalantly.
As the man fell over from the force of his swing, Felix began to walk away. But one of the others grabbed into his backpack, which got pulled off.
Felix took this as an opportunity to swing it at the boy opposite him, knocking him down.
“This punk!”
Felix swung him bag at another boy, hitting him square in the face. He then ducked just in time for one of the boys to punch the other boy.
However, Felix hadn’t noticed the rest of the crew getting back up, ultimately grabbing ahold of him.
The leader strolled over, “you think you can mess with my guys?” the leader swung for Felix, and actually got a hit in this time.
Police sirens sounded throughout the alley ways, the group of boys immediately running away at the sound, leaving a bloody lip Felix on his own.
You walked out of the Karaoke building, just in time to see Hyunjin get on his bike.
You tapped him, “What?” he asked, putting his gloves on.
“Can you lend me some money?”
“Why would I?” he answered back sassily.
“My friends went looking for me and went home with my bag! It has my phone and wallet!” you whined.
Hyunjin looked at you, “Serves you right,”
He turned back and placed his bike helmet on his head. “I did save you so consider this payback! Just led me my bus fare! That's it!”
Hyunjin turned to look at you once more, “you can walk home,”
You sighed, “you're heartless,” you said deadpan.
You turned from him as he turned his bike in and began to walk home slumped over.
Hyunjin sat up on his bike and thought about your words. He sighed, turned the bike off and called for you.
You turned to look at Hyunjin, who was tapping the spare helmet attached to the back of his bike.
“Get on, before I change my mind,”
“Really?” you ran over to him and picked up the helmet, “Thank you!”
You got on the back of the bike and carefully placed your arms around Hyunjin’s midriff. He flinched at the sudden contact, but shook his head and sped off on the motorbike.
Felix sat outside the comic shop, sitting down as he held a tissue to his lip.
But what he didn't expect was a motorbike to pull up opposite him and for you and Hwang Hyunjin to get off it together.
“Thank you,” you said, passing Hyunjin the helmet back.
“Y/N!” Felix called.
He stood up and walked over to you. At your name being called you turned and gasped in shock.
You zoned out, “I went through all that to keep you apart. Were you a couple in your past life?” you muttered to yourself.
The two boys faced off.
“Felix!” Hyunjin greeted sarcastically.
“Why are you bringing her home?” Felix asked, getting straight to the point.
“Look who's talking. Why were you waiting for her?”
You cleared you throat awkwardly. “So guys… why don't we all head home? It's late, so you head that way, you head that way!”
Suddenly, someone crashed into your back sending you tumbling. The two boys grabbed onto the person, which is when you turned around. “Sana?”
She was drunk. Rather drunk.
“Why do we have two beautiful guys here?” Sana asked pointing between Felix and Hyunjin.
She laughed and clapped her hands, “Did I die? Am I in heaven?”
“Sana!” you yelled, shaking her, but she was completely hammered.
“You come with me! I can make you guys super big and famous!” She said, referring to her job in the entertainment industry, under one of the idol businesses. She dragged Felix and Hyunjin in the direction of your house.
“Seriously! Sana, when you wake up, I’m going to kill you!” you muttered, following the three.
Eventually you arrived at home, Sana still clinging onto the two boys who were fighting for their lives.
“This one here!” you directed Sana to the gate of your house.
But she immediately fell onto Felix, gagging on his jacket, which soon turned into her literally puking on the Lee Felix’s jacket.
You gasped and placed your hands over your mouth in pure horror, Hyunjin turned away in disgust.
Felix stood there frozen in place as Sana stumbled through the gate.
You ran over to Felix and took his jacket off. “I’m so sorry! I will get it cleaned for you! I’m really sorry! Goodnight!” you ran into the property and shut the gate behind you.
Felix and Hyunjin awkwardly walked back in silence. But just as Felix began to walk away as they reached the motorbike, Hyunjin called out.
“Hey, Lee Felix,”
Felix stopped walking and turned, coming face to face with Hyunjin who was moving closer.
“Do you like Kim Y/N?” Hyunjin asked with a smirk.
“What?”
“Don’t you like her?” Hyunjin repeated.
Felix sighed, “What about you then? Why do you keep hanging around her? Do you like Kim Y/N?”
Hyunjin huffed out a laugh at the question. He walked forward towards Felix and leaned in, “Should I give it a try?” He grinned.
That night as Felix lay in bed, he thought about all the recent encounters he'd had with you. He even looked over at the items he collected from you or had some relevance to you which sat on his desk. The hair tie, the sticker and the chocolate you gave him.
He thought about the times when he saw you stood with Hyunjin and he just wanted to rip Hyunjin apart for even being that close to you.
Lee Felix liked you.
