Hank is 5′5″ and often lies about it. If called on it, he will blame his prosthetic leg even though it has nothing to do with it. He’s always been this height. Peaked in grade five.
To go with that - Hank has a prosthetic left leg. Lost it in a work injury while serving in the Royal Air Force. Not in battle, though.
Wears reading glasses. Loves sweaters (the bigger the better). A huge fan of being cozy. His fashion can be described as early 2000s hipster meets vintage but no one knows the era .
He’s a nervous, quiet bean. Seriously, he’s quiet. Like whispers when he talks kind of quiet. He'll be hard to hear, he doesn't like taking up space right now.
Hank’s house is PRISTINE. He keeps it very clean. Having people over is anxiety-inducing because they will inevitably mess it up. Moving things, leaving crumbs, sitting on counters, it’s all awful. Of course, Hank can deal with it but there’s always some internal freaking out. (I’ve had problems with this in the past, people always assume he’s a slob so it’s nice to be able to put this in)
Speaking of his house, Hank doesn’t wear his prosthetic at home. It’s better for him in so many ways. Which means he’s using other mobility aids around the house. Odds are good, he won’t do this for planned company but if he’s surprised by house guests he maybe using a wheelchair to answer the door.
Somewhere between having parents a little older than most people his age and them having values of a totally different generation and the air force, Hank is never late. If he is, assume something horrible happened. He’s every bit the “ten minutes early, is late” sort.
Despite loving books, Hank does not want to be a writer. It’s something that’s been assumed of him a fair amount of times by family and new acquaintances alike but he has no interest in telling the stories. He’s very happy leaving that work to others.
Hank has a very close and good relationship with his parents. He talks to his mum more than his dad (they’re still happily married, his dad just hates phone conversations) and he loves them to death. it’s hard to be away from them but they all know it’s for the best. They talk constantly (some would consider it too much).
Lastly, Hank is Jewish. This is important for him to have known, it’s a big part of who he is. Though it’s a little different for him than in his youth.. Rightfully blaming relocating for that but the rest is feeling out his faith for himself. What he’s learnt this far is he’s observing more than his parents were but he’s still on the exploratory journey.
