"Youâll throw it, Iâll shoot it, and itâll knock us both back. Not worth it."
"If it knocks you flat on your ass, it'll be pretty worth it."
"And you really think that would hit me?"
"Maybe, maybe not. As far as I'm concerned, it's worth a shot."
"So, uh, Locusâ There, uh, somethin' you want to tell me? Maybe about how you're apparently a HUGE Washington fanboy?"
 â âExcuse me? I am not a WashingtonâŠfanboy.â
"I dunno, could've fooled me. It's just, you're always aiming at Washington before anyone elseâ"
"Well, then weâd just be playing a game of catch."
"Then, in that case, how 'bout I throw in a grenade too? For good measure."
throws a rock at his helmet
Cue that stylish last minute grabâ
âYâknow, I wonder how hard I can throw this back at your head.â

"I could only imagine."
She, while formally part of the project, only knew as much about the fall as most of the general public. Then Control told her some more details and that was about it. Oh the things she still knew. And the information she could sell. While Control did know most of the intel she had gathered, she still had original files.
There were some things she couldnât share. Not even with Control.
"The real question is what else would you want to know?"
"What else would I want to knâ Wait."Â
âšâ»â© â An opportunity to learn more was always nice, but where to begin? It wasn't like Project Freelancer consisted of about the same amount of text as a dinky children's book. It was far more grand than that, far more larger. Even then, it wasn't the idea of what he could ask that stopped him, but rather why he could ask.Â
"What's the catch? I mean, I know how these things work. Information is valuable, and anything valuable can have a price tag slapped onto it. So, what's yours?"Â
Granted, as far as he could consider, it was only one thing that he stood curious about: her. How much faith can he put in her? She made it sound like as if it were a fair amount, but he needed elaboration. He needed to know for certain.

"The name's Felix. Nothin' more than that, nothin' less than that. Just, bad 'ol Felix the mercenary."
âšâ»â© â Rolling his shoulders, Felix couldn't exactly read the confusion upon the faces of the surrounding patrol. It was quite tricky to read the expressions of simple plated faces; not like it was his problem anyhow. Right now, the mercenary was more concerned with getting from point A to point B without any kind of injury on him.
"And you? I mean, you seem pretty adamant about knowing who I am. Can't I know a little about you too?"
His tone was false with care, honestly he couldn't really care for who this guy was. Felix was only interested in the what.
"Iâm not your  ÆÇÄĐÄźĆÄ ÎČÇÄÄĐââ Calm. Calm. "âSo donât call me that. Church will do just fine, thanks. Epsilon if you really feel the need to have me destroy everything again.â
Justâ just play with the fact that you can apparently destroy everything in sight, yeah. That sounded like a good plan. Man, he needed to work on his intimidation tactics.
"âYour shield runs the risk of shorting out in high-stress situations, dude. That modelâs been updated a couple times, should probably look into that."
âŠWhy is he giving him tips.Â
âšâ»â© â High stress situations? Gee, now wasn't that just about all of the time here on Chorusâ A disgruntled sigh escaping from him, Felix opts to not stand there and bitch. It was advice, actual advice he'd just been given. Might as well appreciate the gesture and keep it to mind, especially after he got back to the others.
"That so? Well then, guess I'll jus' have to talk to some of those engineers we got, y'know, about upgrading."
Part of him wanted to let out a sarcastically uttered label, but considering the buttons he'd pushed before? Yeah, no. No way in hell was he strutting down that walkway so soon.
"I wouldnât give it too much thought. Weâre not here to kill, weâre here to observe some recently reported strange activity." Tom stated matter-of-factly. "However, our parameters for the mission were rather fluid. I tend to er on the side of caution when that happens."
"Strange activity? And I take it that this so-called strange activity is held nice and fast within confidentiality? In other words, even if I were to ask nicely, I take it you can't tell me what the shit's been going on, can you?"
â Yeah. True. You gotta look out for that         when youâre always so close to your         enemy. Iâm pretty good with a knife. Donât         use âem much but but itâs always fun for         something different. I mean I prefer         bigger knives though, like, machetes         and all that jazz. â         For someone to be so unnerved by her         comment only made her smile more. It         had been years since someone didnât         openly state how insane she sounded or         even was for that matter. She couldnât         help it. All this wasnât exactly her fault,         was it?
"All the power to those who prefer a big ass cleaver over a combat knife, but I find smaller knives that much more fun to handle."
âšâ»â© â Restraining his wandering touch; Felix keeps from drawing his knife. There's no need to throw the poor girl into discomfort, not when they were supposedly being friendly to one another. Still, the more he thought about it, the more eager he got. Not all Freelancers were made to be his enemy, quite honestly, if he could find a few to help him then well, that'd be just great.
"There's just somethin' about 'em I just can't get over. Maybe it's obsession? Who knowsâ"
âââI donât have much patience for anything now of days.â     Carolina admitted. Lately her patience wore thin   around the sim troopers and who could of blamed her?   They where annoying, loud, dumb, but all the end and   everything, she had noticed that all of them have grown   from what she had remembered. Though, now her attention   was drawn to what he was about to say about Tucker. Though   just by the end of that sentence. She knew. Understood even.         âWell, probably. You probably hate a lot of things, so try       and not think, you seem good at not thinking.â
âšâ»â© â Felix began to scowl, even growl, as he heard that last bit from the mouth of Carolina. Funny how one mishap labels you for worse, funny how one little slip and then you're no better than the trash of the gutters. Fists curling shut, Felix felt his temper slipping loose, a moment's act of standing conscious to it keeping him from flying from his handle. Thankfully so, as the last thing needed of him was to want to fight Carolina here.
"Yeah, uh, I'm not going to respond to that one, m'kay?"
"Ah, so I wasnât the only one attracted to this line of work after being ditched. Interesting. Felix, simple enough.â
"Trust me when I say that, there's a couple dozen of us. This lovely little shit hole by the name of Chorus is just a hot spot for good pay. That is, as long as you know whose gears to grease."
"It helps, but only because youâre careless. Bit of an attention puller, are you?"
Zero ignores the comment about her name. To her, it didnât mean a damn thingânot anymore, not ever. Regardless, she continues to throw whatever thoughts cross her mind about the newcomer. That was her greatest attribute, was it not?
"You can talk all the shit you want about your armor, but it still doesnât beat wearing normal clothes.â
âšâ»â© â Felix rolls his head towards the, er, flower-eyed woman. Quite stagnant about this proclaimed superiority of normal clothes versus armor, wasn't she? Felix's all for standing in place and rolling about in loops, especially if about himself but this? Even he would admit that this was as tiresome as it was becoming droll.
"Yeah, and you know what beats normal clothes? No clothes. That is a tale for another time though."
Quite honestly, he didn't need a sword in his codpieceâ
"âŠIt was a part of my old call sign before I ditched the UNSC, donât get too excited about it. Itâs refreshing to meet someone else, as well. I donât think I asked for your name?â
"Oh? I see, so ex-military too? My my. As for my name... well I'm just delighted you asked. It's Felix."
