Do you think there's any merit to zoos or do you think they are all bad?

I think there are zoos where animals are cared, but that doesn’t mean they belong there. What’s worst about zoos is that it promotes the idea that we have the right to cage some animals so people can go there, pay an entry ticket, take some photos, make someone each day richer and richer, while the animals pay the price with their freedom. That’s why I always encourage people to start supporting Animal Sanctuaries or Reserves instead of zoos

What about all those zoos donating a large portion of their revenues to wildlife conservation and tiger breeding programs? What about zoos working to increase the population of the most vulnerable wild animals? Because last I checked, there are a lot of zoos out there that care for animals on a deeper level than we know. And yes, of course we have to pay entry tickets…where do you think the money to save these animals comes from? If you “give a fuck about nature” you should give a fuck about zoos. Their efforts might be the last hope for some animals, such as tigers.

Okay, my earlier reply didn’t go through. But it’s not ableist. Let me give you an example.

Say a guy is really into partying. He really likes party girls and wants to pick up some girls at a party so he can bring them to clubs and stuff.

Now am I going to go up to him and tell him he’s classist since I cannot afford to go to nightclubs? No. Am I going to tell him he’s ableist since I have social anxiety and he is therefore not into me? No.

Spaiosexuality, while a misnomer and more similar to a philia, is like demisexuality in my case -I’m attracted to people I love. Therefore, people who are similar to me. I’m a pantheist, environmentalist, therian. Why would I want to date someone who is a Christian, we-don’t-need-to-care-for-earth-because-heaven-is-our-real-home, animal abuser? I wouldn’t. That doesn’t mean all Christians are bad or anything. It just means we aren’t compatible.

Not to mention that I’ve known people interested in sapiosexuality far before Tumblr got it’s hands on it, and no one was ever discriminatory against anyone. *Ironically, most self identified sapiosexuals I knew were neurodivergent.

Either way, no one is obligated to be attracted to everyone. It’s almost physically impossible.

*Which isn’t really ironic, because no one here has ever said neurodivergent people “didn’t fit the standards.” Who said that? Tumblr did. But oh well.

Okay, wanna know how it’s ableist? Listen good and hard, because this is coming from an actual nuerodivergent person. 1. Nuerodivergent peeps are CONSTANTLY described as “unintelligent”. So many slurs are made about our intelligence that I could care less to list. We’re always seen as “slow” and shit. And lmao I have never once met a sapiowhatever who has “been attracted to” nuerodivergent people. 2. It basically says that there is some sort of “intelligence” hierarchy. The entire social concept of a broad “intelligence” is entirely ableist for many reasons, but it includes how there are different ways to be smart (“street smart” and “book smart” “academically smart”) and one can’t be smart if they don’t get A+ in every class or whatever in the way that a nuerotypical and abliest society deems “good”.

There are more reasons sapiowhatever is absolute bs, but because you seem so adamant on defending its ablism, that’s what I’ve focused on. Btw, you’re real shitty for ignoring the many voices of actual nuerodivergent peeps who hate sapiowhatever.
