itâs an uncharacteristically Q U I E T night for the club, considering that itâs a weekend, and all sejun is left with is the entertaining task of cleaning glasses. an absolute JOY, really - or moreso a goddamn waste of time to spend his night s l a v i n g away here. hence itâs no surprise when heâs found scowling at the rack of crystallized holders, only to turn around hopefully when he hears the approach of someone, and the CORNERS of his lips ( tug up ) into a grin before he even catches sight of who it is. â didnât think iâd catch your pretty face here tonight. â
with hanhae awol for the night, they strode into the club aloneâan empty arm, sure, but not an empty heart. any disappointment hyeseong may have felt due to hanhaeâs absence was fleeting, and would be easily smoothed over after a shot or two. ( and if the night ends up concluding in a bathtub, like it so often does, better for it that he couldnât come, actually. seong still had bruises from last time, no thanks to hanhaeâs ridiculously sharp elbows. ) the two of them would just have to make it up next weekend, thatâs all. after texting him the very same thing, hyeseong pocketed their phone, the thought of said missing friend suddenly all but forgotten the instance their eyes meet a familiar set of brown. who had the wider grin between them? it was a tough call.Â
âpretty?â a finger pointing at their chest and lips forming a small âo,â hyeseong, complete with fluttering eyelashes, was coyness personified. that is, until a snort managed to sneak out and ruin the illusion. âiâm glad you noticed.â they sniffed, settling in one of the chairs in front of the bar. âi brushed my hair tonight, just for you~â
Yoora was growing frustrated. Nothing about her Trigonometry homework was making sense, and whoever was eating something crunchy in the booth behind her was about to be murdered. Usually, this side of the study cafe was a bit more quiet compared to the students hanging out on the other side of the room. She had specifically chosen this table for more concentration, but someone was ruining it She rolled her eyes upwards, unable to take it anymore. God help me, she muttered to herself. After a minute more of relentless crunching, Yoora had snapped. âCould you please eat a little quieter? People are trying to study here.â She said, not turning around to see who it was.
hyeseong couldnât help itâthe min family was cursed!! cursed to be noisy eaters until the end of time! and the more they enjoyed themselves, gorging on whatever snack or morsel they had on them that day, the louder they got. a lot l o u d e r. seong took to wearing masks in the library, or right now, in the study cafe to help muffle the noise when they ate in such places, but today..... er..... they hadnât even noticed the maskâs absence. until now. whoops.Â
swallowing as quietly as they could manage in order to placate the vexed stranger ( stranger, since they refused to turn around for some reason ), they leaned forward and offered the box of pepero ( almondâtheir favorite ) as a peace offering. âsorry. iâm full now, though, so donât worry! uh...want some?â
the cafe was no regular hang-out of hyeseongâs. coffee didnât suit their tastes; preferring energy drinks instead; but once in a while, when they felt up to it, theyâd drop by. and if it wasnât for the heavenly croissants, it was for nayeon. ...who wasnât really a friend, to be honest, but she was entertaining. nothing paired better with the cafeâs pastries than the sight of the girl dumping coffee ( usually scalding h o t ) down some unsuspecting strangerâs shirt. frankly, it was a surprise that nayeon hadnât gotten fired yet ( or sued ), but seong knew not to question it. lest she actually does. and then what else would cheer them up during exam week?? exactly. and that was precisely what brought them to the cafe that afternoon; to get a quick laugh in before rehearsals. the croissants were just a bonus.Â
though someone else had made their way over to the line the exact same time they had, so it was only once they noticed the other that both of them stopped short of it, staring. the ( t a l l ) stranger spoke first. ( actually, make that tall and half-dead. heol, those circles.... ) well, it was blatantly obvious what he was there for. which prompted hyeseong to shake their head at his offer and step behind him in one smooth motion. âiâm not the one here to recharge. go for it.â
âThank you,â Hansol said as he picked up his coffee order from the pickup counter. He then took a sip, but the tastes on his tongue were completely foreign. He made a sour face. What was this? A moment later, he heard his order being called out. Shit. He picked up the wrong coffee. The other person there seemed confused, so he turned to them. âUh, I think I accidentally picked up your order. Are you weird about germs? I could just get you a new lid or we can just.. get a new one in general.â
âi am weird about germs, yeah.â their lips curled in disgust, though they slowly reached forward to take the coffee from hansol anyway. all the while, hyeseong angled their face away from the cupâas though hansol simply sipping from it made it contagious. deadly disease contagious. and rather than their whole palm, only the tips of their fingers dared to touch the cup. just to be safe.Â
but the laughter they fought to keep down couldnât stay stifled forever, and in an instant, seongâs grimace was soon replaced with a grin that stretched to show their pearly whites. âkidding.â seong nearly doubled over. âiâm kidding! and thatâs not for me, anyway. itâs for a friend.â winking, they pressed a finger to their lips once their laughter died down to just modest giggles. âyouâre good, i promise i wonât tell~â

*âŠ. â is that { kim seulgi } ? no, thatâs just { min hyeseong }, a { 23 } year old { criminal }. the { non-binary } has been described as { convivial } but is also known to be { enigmatic }. { they } are currently majoring in { theatre } and they were sent here because they { committed identity theft }, yikes ! { evelyne, she/her, 20, pst }
they/them pronouns por favor!!
middle child (of 3) w/o any of the #middlechildproblemz
theyâre treated a lot like how the maknae of the fam is treated, only instead of cute nicknames its âdokkaebiâ or âmul gwishinâ r ipÂ
but its ok hyeseong calls them names right back
family goalz amirite??
they talk shit abt each other but they love each other itâs gr8. life @ home wasnt bad at all
theatre appealed to them bc they can p much be whoever they wanted to be
or who other ppl thought/wanted hyeseong to be
so up till ~abt high school they presented as âfemaleâ just bc it was convenient. even tho hyeseong loves loves l o v e s drama, they aint abt that life when the drama revolves around them, so they figured that letting ppl misgender them was just the best thing for them at the time
it made seong a biiiit uncomfortable, but it wasnât anything they couldnt handle. or at least they thought so,,,,
they compensated for it by auditioning for less traditional roles in school plays/musicals
but bc most theatre roles still p much stick to the gender binary, the roles they did take were mostly âmaleâ roles
hyeseong would say it was bc guys just had more interesting parts which yâknow,,,, if youâve seen at least one play/musical, (most) male characters were just better fleshed out thatâs how it was. soooo technically it wasnât a lie and they were good at it too, so the casting director just let it happen
lowkey got popular bc of it bc ppl would say they were so good at acting they could pull off male roles better than âactualâ dudesÂ
but then
their last year of hs is when the rumors started
abt what roles theyâd take, how theyâve never been seen using the school restrooms or changing in the locker rooms, etc.
their fam found out abt it thru their older sister and everyone gave hyeseong an earful bc wth y are u letting this happen???? r u dumbÂ
just own it who cares
and so they did
hyeseong didnt officially come out bc lol itâs none of pplâs business tbh but they stopped denying it any time someone asked. just shrugged every time and said âsureâ
not everyone was as accepting as their fam obvi and the popularity from their prev years didnt last but????? seong was a lot happierÂ
any time they were the subject of rumors after that, they just play along for the shits and giggles
and thatâs literally how to best describe hyeseong? after accepting their gender identity for what it was, they literally gave no fucks abt how ppl saw them anymore
does as they pleases
committed identity theft just bc they were bored one day lmfao and thought it was a ~unique~ challenge to their acting abilityÂ
wouldve gotten away w/ it too had they not accidentally confessed while totally plastered whoops
has no real opinion abt the whole criminal discrimination @ hongdae??? as long as hyeseong can still do what they want, itâs not rly a concern of theirs. so far the rules havent rly affected them yet but if/when they do????? idk man weâll see
just real friendly in general - can be a bit of a troll sometimes but seongâs not someone whoâs openly antagonisticÂ
doesnt want to deal w/ drama remember? tho if itâs other pplâs drama.........
usually has ppl fooled when they first met them, surprising âem when they find out theyâre a criminal
doesnât flaunt it but wont deny it if asked either
always has a diff story of what crime they committed when others ask tho LOL (ex. murdered somebody, robbed a bank, committed tax fraud, etc.)
ur pal when u need somebody to pretend to be ur ex/stalker/whatever bc hey, acting practice ayoooo
ok this is getting too long now im cutting it off here
btw if ur wondering what inspired hyeseong itâs this video pls watch it i guarantee u wont regret it
thank u to anyone that actually read all of this im sorry for the word vomit yikesÂ
