Now that we've gotten the first looks at the Zelda movie, I wanna talk about my self indulgent dream for my perfect Zelda movie. It would, of course, be animated, though not in the anime style (though that would be absolutely killer).
My perfect movie would be created and directed by Don Bluth. If you're unfamiliar, he's responsible for one of my favorite movies of all time The Secret of NIHM. (Also Anastasia, The Land Before Time, Dragon Lair, and Disney's Robin Hood)
This movie is peak 80s dark fantasy to me, despite not being what people typically associate with the genre. Its got it all. Gorgeous animation, wonderful music, plenty of whimsy, and that gritty darkness that I love.
Like... please watch this movie. Tell me that the entire owl scene doesn't give you Zelda vibes.
Bonus tidbit: I've heard that Don Bluth is a direct descent of Pocahontas, though this is unconfirmed and likely untrue.
Anyway, this is just my little dream. Tell me yours! What does your perfect Zelda movie look like? I'd love to know :3
