Thank you for your reading update!! I was so pumped to read a thousand ships but making Achilles and Patroclus straight? Yeah no thanks my own classics prof who is in his late 80s tells us constants “please children there were no gayer icons in all of Ancient Greece”

sadly out of all the greek mythology retellings that have come out this year a thousand ships was the even remotely good one (which is a shame) ariadne by jennifer saint and daughters of sparta by claire heywood were so disappointing (and just... bad, in my opinion of course)
