I like to take an educational approach with my clients - considering the building envelope as a complete system and educating designers and contractors along the way about how each individual component, when specified and installed properly, will comprise an end product that is greater than the sum of its parts. Through my experience and knowledge of both sides of the industry, I can bridge the gaps between construction and design. I’ve authored and implemented company-wide commissioning processes to successfully guide the exterior envelope from a design concept to a final and functional installation, and recommended and driven hundreds of design changes to improve constructability, completeness, functionality, integration with adjacent systems, performance, and differential movement allowances.

With over 15 years both constructing and consulting on complex building envelopes, I’ve seen first hand what can happen when building envelopes are not designed and constructed as a complete system. Things can go horribly wrong, but it doesn’t have to be this way! This is where I come in, and I can help. There is probably not another single aspect of design and construction more widely misunderstood, while simultaneously posing the same high level of risk if not executed flawlessly.
