Starting to view the world differently #ForTheBetter
Wednesday's are supposed to be the day off! Always SO busy 😂
My money is on Toff for the win #Imaceleb
WINTER IS HERE #Blog
So as many of you know (and have seen from the last few mornings), Winter is upon us and it’s going to be a cold one!
I personally love Winter, snow and everything Christmassy (provided it’s not TOO early), but one thing I want to stress is safety this year!
As I have started to cycle to University this year – I highly recommend this – Road safety has been on my mind a lot! For that reason, it prompted me to write this short blog!
Cyclists –
Be mindful of drivers on the road – I know it can be hard to empathise with them, especially in the blistering cold, when they have their heater on – but remember that they will be driving carefully too (hopefully), and will be slower and less visible (in some cases).
Wear your helmet – This goes without saying but in the winter, it gets slippery out there!
Wear Hi-Visibility clothing and/or flashing lights – The mornings are dark, and the evenings are even darker! Make sure a car can see you!
Drivers –
Please drive slowly! – Ice in the mornings is a huge factor when driving. Please take it slow and be mindful that braking distances will increase dramatically.
Prepare to leave 5-10 minutes earlier than usual – With the mornings we’ve had recently, you will be de-icing your car before the journey!
Check your tyres are safe – Again, relating to the roads being harsher!
Take special care driving through areas where cycle paths are marked – Treforest is one of these areas (just off the taff trial) – We try our best to stay out of your way and safe, please do the same!
Just a few pointers from both sides there! Hopefully some of them will stick with you on these cold, dark mornings!
If you have any more tips, please comment below and get involved with the safety on the roads this winter!

Deadline stresses starting to kick in #PreHoliday
Assignment Deadlines!!
Chances are that if you are in University, you are approaching some deadlines as the Christmas holidays is just around the corner (yay!)
While this can be a stressful time, my main suggestion is to check out one of my past blogs on stress management!
Apart from that, it’s definitely a good idea to visit your lecturer for a one on one meeting (if this is possible) and make sure you are attacking the assignment in a way they are happy with! Gain a clear understanding of what they are looking for and if you can, take some notes!
Even if you are a first year, this is good practice for later years in your degree! If you can please the marker, you will do well, no doubt!
For my course (Electrical Engineering), Lab reports – or as most of you know them, assignments – hold a large weight for the overall grade of the degree. Getting the techniques down to a T early on in your degree will pay off massively!
I hope this can help or motivate any of you during the next few stress weeks!
Catch you all soon,
HYWEL
All about Podcasts
All about podcasts - and why I love them!!
So for those who know me or have been following me for a while now, you’ll know that I love walking, exploring and get getting out of the house as much as I can!
BUT
I do understand that for some of you, it can seem boring to just “go for a walk” especially if you are on your own!
HOWEVER
I have the solution for you! Find yourself a podcast!!
I always advocate a healthy lifestyle and walking can be a great start! Take the boredom out of it though by finding something you are interested in and listening to it on your way!
WHY I LOVE THEM?
Podcasts are SO passive that they waste zero time and can still be a great source of entertainment or knowledge!
RECOMMENDATIONS?
For me, I like to listen to “GaryVee”
The podcast are usually business related and it allows me to soak up a ton of knowledge from an insanely motivational guy, whilst doing my every day activities such as cardio.
Just something I thought about suggesting to you guys today!
Until next time, Peace.

Can't believe I'm traveling to New York in less than 10 days!
Sunday hangovers 😞
Going to bed before 10pm on a Friday night 😴😴😴

Busy day today even though it's a "day off" 👍
Electrical Engineering - YEAR 3 PROJECT
The time has come! FINAL YEAR PROJECT is upon us!
For those interested in the Electrical Engineering course at USW, our final year works slightly different to the “normal” course procedure!
Rather than the more common dissertation requirement in 3rd year studies, Engineering students will often find themselves with a “Final year project”.
Although similar when it comes to research, the project usually takes a different structural approach to a dissertation and is written as a “LAB REPORT”. Something which many of you from an Engineering background will be familiar with but if not, something you will be taught in the first few years of study!
MY FAVOURITE PART? The project I have chosen this year falls in-line with my hobbies and interests of sports, and I will be designing a physical project that I am able to keep!
More on my project specifically in the future – Now back to research! #3rdYearGrind
Make your "days off" the most productive days of the week 👌
