"Good." Grin softening into a simple smile, she nodded, exhaling slowly. Of course he would take the opportunity, it would appear preposterous not to, in a way. It was a good opportunity, and Matty wouldn’t be stupid to let it pass.

At the comment, she laughed lightly and rolled her eyes. “It’s a fact, not an opinion.” She added, smirking slightly at him. “Though, of course, you can be an idiot…but a very cute idiot that I happen to love, so I’m sure I  can let that slide.” With that, she merely winked at him, unable to help herself.

Giving a casual shrug of her shoulders, she  glanced upwards, as if she were still continuing to think as she spoke. “Well, certain things you only see at night so if you’re not awake, you miss it. Certain animals, for example, or for most people, even simply the stars.”

Pausing to study his expression, she pressed her lips together before laughing. “And you thought I meant something else…” Hand moving to her mouth, she closed her eyes as she shook her head, continuing to laugh. There really were times where she should probably think a little more about what she was going to say.

"Yes, well…" Clearing her throat, she took a deep breath and regained her composure. "There’s only one slight flaw there." Another pause as she grinned at him, reaching over to gently prod his side. "Since when is that limited exclusively to night time?"

Actually, he was rather looking forward to it. Heck, it meant that people respected him, right? Surely? Meant that they weren't waiting for him to make a move like Cal would, yes?

Because, doubtlessly, Cal wouldn't not be asked to do such a task. That much was obvious.

And Matty lived to be better than him, however ashamed he would be to admit it.

"Good," he replied, simply, not even trying to resist the large grin that stretched across his lips as he looked down at her - literally, most certainly not metaphorically. "Love you too."

Oh.

Yes.

He had assumed correct.

Not intended as a euphemism.

"Mhm," he nodded, as if he meant such a thing all along, but the small amused smile ruined that royally, but still, no matter. Still, as soon as she started laughing, he did too, shaking his head as he did, biting down on his bottom lip.

For a second, he simply raised his eyebrow, before sighing, rolling his eyes, prodding her right back on the shoulder, deciding not to answer that.

It was something she didn’t mind, at all. If anything, it made her feel more at ease. It meant she didn’t feel as if she had to put on some sort of pretence, not that she would with Matty anyway, but it still helped.

Plus, it wasn’t as if she was an innocent, she enjoyed teasing him right back. So it was hardly a problem for her.

Laughing a little at the question, she shrugged her shoulders and glanced away. “Well, I don’t know exactly…but I’d think you were a fool if you didn’t, ah, snap up the opportunity.” She paused for a moment, that was the phrase, wasn’t it? Tilting her head slightly, she grinned at him. “And you’re not a fool Matty.”

For a moment, she lingered where she was, a little hesitant about moving forward. After all, the last thing she wanted to do was nudge him while he was dealing with hot liquid.

"I do." She nodded, smiling slightly before moving around to the other side of him carefully and leaning against the counter. "After all, some of the best experiences are at night, aren’t they?"

"Don't worry, I'm going to," he replied with a nod, mirroring her head tilt with a slight smirk, before straightening his expression, straightening his stance again, before leaning against the worktop. 

Taking a small sip of his coffee, before placing it back on the side, he rose an eyebrow.

"Hell, I'm glad you think so."

Moving his coffee further back on the counter, away from the edge, just in case, he smiled, having to prevent a small snicker at that, because sometimes she made innuendos without her even realising. And yes, this one was pretty clear, bur Hell, he didn't like to jump to conclusions.

Still, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"You have my attention."

Honestly, the tapping was driving her crazy. Perhaps that was dumb, how easily she was becoming irritated but really, it was just common decency not to be so…frustrating. Still, she had to keep her composure, they were in the middle of a class after all.

When she saw him sat the way he was, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Really, he even looked obnoxious. Still, she could have been exaggerating. Maybe he’d apologise if she said something… But when he spoke, those thoughts were simply proved wrong.

"Do you really have to ask?” Scoffing,she shook her head before turning back to him, keeping her voice low. “Just, stop.”

She wasn’t going to tell him what he should stop doing because quite frankly, she shouldn’t have to. It wasn’t as if it was her fault he was so ignorant. Besides, if he carried on, she’d simply have to find a way to make him stop.

Watching her right back, one brow raised in slight amusement, not even trying to deny the smirk on his face. He generally didn't deny things, to be quite honest - not when things like this was concerned.

        "Did you pull out Jeffrey's chair from beneath him?"

        "Yes."

And that was it.

Why do something in the first place, if you were just going to lie about it later? That was something he most certainly wasn't - a liar.

"No."

A simple answer, a quick one. 

At that, though, he shrugged.

"Force of habit."

After which, he, of course, continued, the end of his pencil drumming back against the desk.
