So I've heard about the movie Obsession that has a "One Wish Willow" that's been floating around a lot.
"Don't let Tabii get her hands on one"
It could actually legit be an actual episode in Camp Camp. She wishes for Neil to love her back, but doesn't know it's actually legit and he suddenly becomes obsessed with being around her. When he brings her flowers she'd literally lose her mind, thinking he finally likes her back.
He starts neglecting Max and Nikki, doesn't insult Space Kid or the camp and doesn't care about anything science related anymore and the MOMENT Max sees Neil hanging out with Tabii willingly and hugging her/kissing her on the cheek he gets suspicious.
It's like the version of Neil Tabii WANTS him to be.
He interrogates him, accusing him of being brainwashed or sleepwalking, or under a spell or whatever. But Neil brushes everything off and says he's going to prepare for another date. Max even brings it up to David how uncharacteristic of Neil Neil is being but David doesn't see anything weird with it.
Cause he doesn't even know what's going on.
Max and Nikki stalk Neil and Tabii on their date when they go for a walk and Max fake gags when he has to listen to them flirting and watch them hugging and the cheek kisses.
And once the date's over Neil catches them spying (probably cause of Nikki. most definitely cause of Nikki. Who says "Wow. That was disgusting :D" and then laughs, bringing up that they held hands) and he gets upset. Max interrogates him again, asking what kind of a spell did Tabii put him under. He insists it's no spell and that he just finally realized his true feelings for her, that he should've seen from the start.
Max brings up how that doesn't even SOUND like him.
Then Neil has a moment of clarity, snapping out of it and grabbing Max by the shoulders frantically. "Max, you HAVE to HELP me-!" before snapping back and apologizing for his "outburst" before leaving.
Even Nikki thinks it's a lil sus now. Unless he's just a REALLY good actor.
They watch how Neil daydreams during lunch, only poking at his food with a smile on his face. Nurf would probably ask what's he smiling for and despite Max trying to stop her, Nikki blurts out how he likes Tabii and is acting all un-Neil-like now. The campers would probably find it funny, until Max interrupts, saying he would NEVER act like that and it's almost like he's under a spell or something.
Both Harrison and Nerris visibly perk up at that and Harrison brings up how he's heard of a "One Wish Willow" that allegedly "grants you your biggest wish" and that if he would have one, he would've probably used it to bring his brother back before Max interrupts, demanding more information.
Harrison explains and the duo leave to go steal David's phone to call the number of who made the One Wish Willow. Meanwhile, Neil ditches lunch to go meet up with Tabii who's at first happy to see him but when he keeps following her and invading her personal space she asks him if he can... give her some space.
He doesn't really understand and keeps following her. She tries to do her Flower Scout duties while he talks about how great she is. And that's when she starts to think this is weird, just like Sasha and Erin had told her earlier.
Max gets info from the creator and realizes what's happening. He hears that the wish can be undone if Tabii or anyone else wishes for it to be undone and they head out to confront Tabii, tossing David his phone. "Found your phone." without elaborating where they found it.
I CAN see the other campers cornering Max and Nikki, wanting to use the One Wish Willow for their own reasons (Preston with something regarding theatre, Space Kid something regarding flying to space etc) but Max says nobody's using it and it has terrible consequences, they're all going to regret it when it goes south and then they leave.
They find Neil unnerving Tabii with his declarations of love, the more she realizes how out of character it seems of him. They barge in and Max tells Nikki to hold Neil away (tackle if needed), he's going to talk to Tabii alone.
"Aye-aye, captain!" (Salutes)
Max cuts straight to the case and asks if she's used a One Wish Willow. She's confused, until he specifies what it does and she finally comes to the realization and admits she did use it but didn't know that it WOULD work. Max tells her she has to undo it and she hesitates at first, bringing up how maybe he's a bit- too invasive of her privacy but he finally loves her.
Then Neil shows up, asking Tabii how she's doing with a huge grin on his face, with Nikki trying to hold him back and apologizing to Max. She tried.
Weirded out, Tabii agrees and sweetly tells Neil to wait for her here, she'll just go retrieve something and then they can go on a date. Neil surprisingly enough agrees and she makes eye contact with Max, both of them nodding in determination.
She manages to get another wish and undoes it. Neil immediately returns to normal and blinks for a moment.
"Sooooo... you back?" Nikki questions with a raised eyebrow.
He blinks again before freaking out about the fact that he KISSED Tabii. TABII. Three times. And HUGGED her!
Max tells him to stop being so dramatic. It wasn't even on the lips.
To which he groans, burying his face in his hands in reply. Max tries to "comfort" him by saying it's over now. Then Tabii returns and he hides behind Max, scared. She genuinely apologizes, saying she had no idea it'd work but he doesn't care and tells her to stay tf away from him before speed-walking away.
She's sad and Max shrugs at her before he and Nikki follow him.
