i give gecko friends every day* to posts that look like they could use one, to hopefully brighten the OP's day. this blog also serves as a daily geckos account ✨

all species under the suborder Gekkota are considered geckos for the purposes of this blog. this means that legless lizards (as there are legless geckos) will be posted! please do not follow if you are squeamish.
no other reptiles will be posted as part of dailies.
this blog is run by a single mod (@asteraden). i am not a reptile expert or an expert in anything really, i am just an autistic human whose special interest is geckos. i do not currently know enough species of geckos for ID, so this blog is not a place for this! i run this blog to learn about more geckos myself as well!
i am a human who manually types out each one of my posts and then queues them for posting later on. thus, i am susceptible to making many mistakes. if i post twice in one day or i miss a day or reblog something to the wrong blog please look away okay
we are a plural system. we have different preferences for how to get things done. we have memory issues. we might type different or use different tags. don't think too much abt it
geckommend mod is currently dealing with extremely very bad no good life events 😓 for our own mental health we're focusing on taking care of ourself and we will return when both the bad things are over and we've had enough rest to recover from them 🫡

you got it, boss! this post was originally supposed to have a lot more detail including personal comments, but tumblr crashed the post editor right as i was finishing up, so i lost steam... very sorry about that :( every gecko species i wanted to include is still here though :D

included within day geckos are also the iconic gold dust day gecko and giant day geckos. i'd just posted the gold dust day gecko as part of dailies, so i won't include it again- but you always have the power of the search engine in your hands :)
Uroplatus phantasticus- i'd recommend looking up this species yourself if you're interested since they have so many different color morphs and tail shape variations, all naturally in one species!
Gekko gekko- the namesake of the word "gecko" and an iconic species overall :)
Goniurosaurus hainanensis- i'd also recommend searching up others in the Goniurosaurus genus for other eye colors and color morphs!
Aeluroscalabotes felinus- this species was posted on this blog recently, but it's such a unique species! it's long and slender with a long tail it likes to keep in a coil, and was named the "cat gecko" for sleeping curled up around its tail. what's not to love?

last but not least, if you feel like being a rule-breaker, the family Pygopodidae is a family of legless geckos, not just lizards. the fella below is Pygopus lepidopodus, or the common scaly-foot :]
