They have a much less organic feel than the original maps, and I don’t like them as much, but I’m still running this blog and mapping — or, tree-ing, I guess — posts, when I feel like it. I’m currently using the “goth rave” (purple) color scheme as a default color for the trees. — — —

Hello, welcome to the reblog map blog! I add maps to posts, talk about / answer questions about reblog maps, I answer asks of all sorts (don’t be afraid to send me random stuff — I like chatting with you guys!), and sometimes I’ll make my own posts.

This is just a silly little gimmick blog because, as the name suggests, I like reblog maps! I find all the shapes fascinating and fun to watch.

The typical size range for maps on here is between 0-2,000 10k reblogs, as more than 2k reblogs is usually too many to fit onto the screen (I’ve started tiling images for larger maps). Also, I’m on mobile, so my upper limit is around 10k 20k for my phone’s safety (I’ve gotten bolder).

Q: How do I get reblog maps?

A: Reblog maps are a website-exclusive feature that you can access by going into the notes on a post and clicking the symbol that looks like bubbles, next to the likes. This should open the post’s reblog map.

And yes, this works on mobile (I’m running this blog on my phone!), you just have to be in the website, not the app.

Updating this for the new UI, since I just got it and can now figure things out:

Open the notes on a post, switch over the the reblogs tab, and click on this:

Then, click on the “Reblogs graph” option in the drop-down list

And it should open the map!

I will note: if you leave it on that option, it’ll open the map on any post when you go to the reblogs, so you have to switch it back to “Reblogs with comment or tags” to get it back to the regular notes.

Would love to hear thoughts on it! There are several ways to interpret it, regardless of my initial intentions, and I’d be really interested to hear y’all’s interpretations! :]

Weeds

I am a weed. In an ocean of grasses and beautiful flowers, I am the dandelions in concrete cracks.  I grow where I shouldn’t, where it’s hard to be, And I am uprooted so frequently. I am jealous of the flowers  That grow in garden beds, And I can’t help but to wish  That I was one of them. But I am the clovers, growing in patches In yards of nice homes, full of green grasses I am trampled and flattened, by uncaring feet, Plucked by hands, in hope of finding a special piece— But I only have three leaves.  I am the dead-nettle, with little purple blooms,  Not acknowledged until I am removed.  Soft leaves and fragile stems,  Torn apart and left for dead. 

I am a weed.  This repetitive story is centuries old, I am resilient against your world.  You have decided I do not belong, But I will carve a place in your lawn.  Pull me up, rip me out by the roots, but you have not won, Leave a dirt hole so you’re reminded of what you have done.  I’ll be back next year,  That’s how it works.  I will stay here, Despite all the hurt.  Those who desire near no variation  Are those by which I am most hated I am seen as a threat to their monotone grasses, Slowly I am removed as time passes and passes  But I am not gone. 

I am a weed.  Dandelion seeds carried on the wind,  Given a helping hand by a wish.  I am a reminder that diversity exists,  I am the remnants of the details you missed. 

I am a weed.  I am the plants which you gather to kill, But despite all your efforts, I am here still.  I will stay for generations,  My legacy will spread.  You may try to be rid of me, But I am not dead.

Weeds is definitely my best use of metaphor to date, since I’m not usually very good at that sort of thing. But rest assured — there is definitely intentional metaphor in here!!

My original intent, while writing, was a metaphor for being autistic. Could be more broadly expanded to being neurodivergent. It could also be interpreted as being queer, being trans / genderqueer, being disabled (physically or mentally), being POC — really any marginalized group, which was unintentional at first but woaw I’m pretty proud of that! :D

Project! Relate!! Determine your own meaning!!!! Writing and art are most impactful when you can see some part of yourself reflected in it :]

Anyways. Be joyous! Be free! Be resilient, plant your roots and plant them deep, or take to the wind and fly where the pesticides won’t reach. Don’t let monotony and conformity win — be a weed. <3

The people who'll go "ugh that's not what ketamine does, you people have clearly never done drugs" obviously were not there when "cast ketamine ape" was added to the list of banned spells. Because clearly you've got the wrong idea of what "cast ketamine ape" actually does.

First of all, did you know that as far as magic is concerned, it can't tell the difference between being poisoned unintentionally, being poisoned intentionally, and being intoxicated recreationally. You can straight-up fucking narcan someone with any healing spell that includes removing poison from the body. And the fun part is, they come out in full fight-or-flight. Yeah they come up swinging. Also even if your healing spells are specifically tailored to be used on humans, and are unreliable even on most other mammals, primates are so close to humans in structure that specifically human-intended spells work on them just fine.

Now picture the following: You've got a full-grown adult male cape babboon, already deep in a k-hole, somewhat conscious but with no inkling of where, how, what, or why it is, lightly concealed within some sort of material that it could easily rip through if it was in its full strength. Let's say, gently wrapped in newspaper.

Now let's say you stealthily leave a mysteriously wrapped bundle - almost the right size to contain a human child but certainly the wrong shape for that - in an inconspicuous place. Like under one of the tables at a wizard conference. Maybe under the table of someone important that you don't like. Then, at a safe distance but within reach of the magic, you cast "poison heal".

And obviously, they couldn't just ban "poison heal".
