Lowkey wondering if I should do a character ask blog thing? That’s a thing on tumblr isn’t it?

Anyways if you do have questions for characters whether it be for my original stuff or my gothic lit universe (which does included more than Jekyll and Hyde and Griffin btw I just love them the most lol) feel free to ask and I shall answer as they would and if you just send a random question with no specific person attached to it then it’ll be a random draw of who will answer it (aka probably Hyde bc he answers the funniest but maybe I’ll pull out a random like Erik/The Phantom Of The Opera who knows)

Baby Griffin and his mother

Nearly forgot to post this here but enjoy this bit pic and maybe a bit of lore for my Griffin and the mother who died not long after he was born

….

Okay now for the lore ramble-

I like to think that there is at least one photo of Griffin and his mum together that Griffin knows exists somewhere but it’s with his mother’s family because Griffin’s dad took him away to be raised as a ‘proper lady’ and Griffin doesn’t really feel connected enough with his mother or her family to bother looking for them let alone the photo itself when he’s an adult.

As a kid though he didn’t have an identity of his own so would’ve killed a man to get a once of something to attach himself to. He was different beyond his albino skin and white hair, and had no culture or people to call his own. All he had was his dad who was just a selfish narcissistic arse with a gambling problem and a drinking habits and was more a warden than a father.

Ego and stubbornness is something he and his father had in common though so if the world wasn’t going to give a place to live in he was going to carve one out for himself even if it meant the rest of the world would suffer.

Really twas the embers to his manic episode of wanting to take over the world when he became invisible later in life.

The urge to do more baby au stuff is also combating with the fact that if griffin did have a child of his own he’d get rid of it asap whether it be giving it away to an orphanage or let Jekyll take over and run away because he hates children and his own pride of having it be his own flesh and blood can only go so far before the sound of a crying baby becomes too overstimulating and he either has to get rid of the source or move far away from it

Actually now that I have it typed out I could absolutely still make the baby au work and still have Griffin be the selfish prick he is.

Cause Griffin is/would be a shit parent. No doubt about that. Jekyll, however, can more than make up where Griffin fails. And Griffin would at least attempt to be decent if only not to be outperformed by Jekyll in taking care of his own kid.

A bit of a scene to show my point:

Griffin: Ugh- is that thing crying again?

Jekyll: She’s tiered Griffin. If you just soothe her l she’ll go to sleep. (Picks up the baby and starts to rock her back and forth) like this… see?

Griffin: Wait- how’d you do that!?

Jekyll: I’m just rocking her in my arms.

Griffin: No- f-ck off it can’t be that simple. let me do it!

Jekyll: If you insist

Griffin: how the hell do I hold it?

Jekyll: Put your arms around her like this- support here head- yes- and there we go. Just back and forth- gently now.

Griffin: Oh… it really is that simple

….

Griffin: Shut up.

Jekyll: I didn’t say anything!

Griffin: your smug grin says enough!

Jekyll: it’s not smug! I’m just… happy… to see you… holding her like that.

Griffin: Like a live explosive?

Jekyll: Like she’s your child! …. But also yes that too… You really needn’t hold her so stiffly.

Griffin: Pft- you’re one to talk! You, my dear doctor Jekyll, are the casebook case for Victorian Stiffness.

Jekyll (rolling his eyes and smiling): Yes, yes, a very ‘clever observation. But at least I know how to hold my own child heh

Good, means you don’t mind if I ramble

Now- after my most recent comic post thing- I feel it important to say it’s no secret my Jekyll and Griffin have become the main stars of the story I’ve had flinging around in my head for about five years.

“What kind of story can you make that’s vaguely based on gothic literature?” You may be asking-

Well the basic run down is two (and a half if you count Hyde) men outside the norms of their time but one does not need a second personality to embrace it but the other sees the consequences of embracing one’s less socially acceptable nature and thus stores that part of themselves into a tiny gremlin man that runs about every weekend

And they have a connection between each other, this man and man and a half man, a line of thin string sewn between them in their University days that take Griffin faking his death and returning on Jekyll’s doorstep asking for a place to stay while he finds a cure to invisibility about ten years after not speaking to each other for the string to grow taught and pull them back together again!

I’m getting lost in the metaphor I think but I’m sure at least some of you will get it

Long story short- these two buggers got a lot to talk about but the problem is neither of them is good at talking and Hyde is a problem child but he’s just the right type of problem child to bring everything out into the open and make them face their feelings both for each other and themselves

By the gods I wish I had the energy to write it all out for you guys to enjoy right now! But alas I am but one autistic bean that has to figure out other things in life before I can figure out how to present this story properly so enjoy the little tid bits for now and pray I will one day figure out how to give the story to all you guys out there 🤧

Feeding you Franken-Fans with a Creature and Victor sketchy

A bit of head cannon lore I have is that I like to think not a lot of clothes fit the creature well so the few bits that do fit him are bits that Victor is very meticulous on how creature should wear them

This is the second time I’ve drawn Victor curled up in a ball in pain in as many months, I think there is a pattern in how I draw him at this point
