Not really flashy, but I like the word "pizzazz."

Sometimes I watch Doctor Who and just think that it's one giant fanfiction. But instead of the writers being fans of books or movies, they're fans of history and science.

And I like to think about the writers getting all excited when they're writing historical episodes, like, "Wouldn't it be so funny if Martha turned out to be Shakespeare's Dark Lady?" or "VAN GOGH IS TOTALLY GOING TO LOVE AMY."

They just take characters they love from history and play with them.

Beauty and the Plot Holes

I’ve been thinking more about stories, and how no tale is black-and-white. I’ve been trying to figure out Beauty and the Beast.

Obviously, it falls into the black-and-white approach to storytelling. There’s really no objectivity where Gaston is concerned, because the movie is from Belle’s perspective, and she hates his guts.
