Seeing local MAGA reaction to the protest in my neck of the woods this past weekend has been a source of good comedy for me! These dingbats are nothing short of pathetic, trying to accuse the protestors of being bought and paid for, among other things. They can't understand people who don't believe in idolatry or who stand up for their values for their own sake.
Meantime, their pathetic-ass turnout for their own counter-protest gave this energy:

Winner in my heart. <3 Those of us who got into it know how much of a banger this movie is. Honestly makes me want to move to the UK even harder for while the BAFTAS did like Anora fine, they LOVED Conclave. And I know that's right!

Before anyone comes at me, Mikey Madison was great in a movie that didn't service her full range of talents as far as I'm concerned.
God, at least Emilia Perez won less than predicted. So, I think I can safely say that evil is defeated. That's the best takeaway from all this. We've had so many banger Best Picture winners, I hope we can get those again someday.
I don't want to say Best Actress might have to be renamed the "Show Us Your Tits" Award....but it's a very real possibility. They always have to shit the bed in this category. 9 times out of 10. I don't know why I keep being disappointed/surprised.
If Corbet hadn't pissed off so many industry people, I could have seen him take this. Even then, idk, because Academy voters have a thing about people needing to prove themselves first....especially in Director.
