He sat at the foot of the tower, solemn and quiet. His ambereyes were clouded with tears as he held a simple necklace in his hand. His wife had passed the day before and the funeral was the next day. He was lost and it was clear he did not know what to do. Karren had known about him and I'yara and in the end had given her blessing. Their relationship had started during a time when she was supposed to have been dead anyways. She could not begrudge him that. It did not stop him from feeling guilty

I’yara came down the stairs looking for Voldan. Her belly had already begun to swell from the child he had planted there. She stood, watching him for several minutes wondering if he wanted to be left alone. That wasn’t I’yara’s nature and so she sat behind him and wrapped her arms around him in an embrace. She planted several kisses on his cheek and said, “I love Voldan Paigewater. Baby too.”
