My pov on Willmack is that they got into physical stuff right away. They openly talked about how they are literally never without each other and haven’t been since they got close before the first season, and what teenage boy can possibly keep it in their pants when someone they find attractive (their attraction is heinously clear esp Mack) is all over them and also shares a hotel room with them? I think the emotional aspect became clear to them after the Pens game, before that is was friendship with sex on the side for “convenience”.
In a very real way though, athletes in general have sex (which they don’t actually consider sex lmao the denial is reeeeaaaallll) way more than people think. My uncle is a sports psychologist and while he would never share any specific stories with me ofc, he did say that intense athletic environments breed a sort of pseudoromantic-sexual relationship at a crazy high rate. It’s why you see so many guys who were attached at the hip in their early career then had a massive fallout and never spoke again; it was a break up. Were they aware they were in a relationship? Usually no, but it was a breakup nonetheless.
I think Willmack has moved beyond that now, but I 100% think they had that sort of relationship in the beginning. One watch of their Never Offsides pod episode told me that lmao, it’s actually embarrassing to watch
it is so funny to watch the podcast cause you can clearly see something’s going on but I am not sure if THEY know 😂 I didn’t know anything from what you have mentioned but thank you for sharing 🫶🏻 honestly it’s really difficult to say what was going on between them the first season but I am sure they enjoyed it ☺️
