I hear the neighbor’s dog

My brother rolls over

All I can see

Is the orange light

Electronic clock on the desk

I slowly roll out of bed

And sneak across the room

Carefully

I tiptoe over the sleeping body

Of my brother

I push down the bathroom door handle

The door creaks

As I slowly open it

I flick the switch

And the room is lit up by 

A fluorescent yellow light bulb

I’m almost scared by my own reflection

In the mirror

There I am

Standing

Staring back at myself

Blurry

Tired

Insomniac

I splash cold water

On my face and arms

And tiptoe back to bed

Feeling things lately

It’s weird to say

Because usually all I do is

I’m beginning to wonder
