Anyways the way Tumblr treats the Perks Of Being A Wallflower like it’s cringe and bad just because of the hipster craze over it in 2012 and ignoring the fact that it’s one of the few books/movies that shows the ugly side of teen mental illness and discusses sexual trauma in young boys (something only portrayed in shows like SVU) is in fact, bullshit, and I’ll never forgive y'all for taking the line “we accept the love we think we deserve” (a reference to toxic abusive relationships) and turning it into cringe culture. This is a book about a struggling depressed kid who I saw myself in as a teen, and yeah he and his friends could be annoying and pretentious but are you going to say you weren’t as a kid?

“Fall has arrived, and it’s time for the trees to shed their leaves so they can survive harsh weather. We don’t worry about that, because we know in spring they will bloom again. What I’ve learned from Mother Nature is that even she needs time to wilt and protect herself. There will always be a winter, you just have to wait for spring, so you can bloom again.”
“Well,” he smiles, and it could outshine the moon. “I love you. I don’t think I tell you enough; but I love you. When I don’t see you the world is dull, I dwindle. But when you’re near everything is better and I multiply. That is how I love you. That is why I love you.”
What else? She is so beautiful. You don’t get tired of looking at her. You never worry if she is smarter than you: You know she is. She is funny without ever being mean. I love her. I am so lucky to love her, Van Houten. You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers.

“There are far too many silent sufferers. Not because they don’t yearn to reach out, but because they’ve tried and found no one who cares.”
— Richelle E. Goodrich
My fire to your fire. My blood to your blood.

"My childhood was not easy. I used to sit in the dark at night and feel the weight of the silence from the empty household, and lack of parents I had. I would lie there, in deafening loneliness and feel homesick for a place that did not exist. I was ten when I realised home wasn't a place, it was a feeling. I was eighteen when you made me realise homes were not to be made out of people."
im permanently emotionally damaged but it’s chill, I’m chill
I was not in a good mood nor happy about the mistakes I made at work on Monday!!!
"Sometimes I still miss you. I remember when I was so wrapped up in you. Now I can't think of anything worse then being like you. I won't let my trauma define me like you have. I won't self sabotage my own happiness because I cannot handle it. That is your candle to keep alight. Through you, I learned I am the sun. No small flame of anger can outshine my love. Where you wish hatred upon me, I wish you happiness. That is the difference between your love and mine."
