I remember our time vividly because I was new and this was one of my first jobs with a real designer and I was amazed I was chosen to be apart of it. When you’re new and young and shy and nervous with so much passion and vulnerability you never forget the people that were kindest to you then. I remember you complementing my walk and making me laugh and telling me I was like the daughter you never had. I remember when Ruben handed me the painting he created of my face the day of the runway show. I felt so special that he took the time to paint me. I brought it home to my mom, an artist herself, and she was amazed and immediately framed it. It still hangs in my home today. I look through these photos and I’m sad they’re gone. But I’m happy to have the memories because they’re so sweet just like you. You were at the forefront of a beautiful movement and you helped and supported this little girl on her way.
