Went to By the Hudson (BTH) to celebrate my friend Joseph’s birthday. There was this dock just steps away from the restaurant, so (of course) we had to check it out. Really happy with how these shots came out. My friends are becoming less and less shy in front of the camera these days 👌🏾
Back home in LA for work, and spent today in Venice. Did the usual Venice Beach boardwalk stroll, then discovered this beautiful canal district. I had passed by driving previously, but never had the opportunity to explore it growing up. Definitely adding it to the list of recommended places when visiting LA.

Recently bought a Rokinon 85mm 1.4 to get better portrait shots, and I am loving the decision so far. The manual focus is something to get used to, but the quality of the photos is fantastic. I asked a couple of my friends to come out to Central Park and model for me - very pleased with the results! • New York, NY • MARCUS ELLIOTT © 2016
One of my favorite times to shoot is right before my friends and I go out for the evening. There’s always good music playing, libations being consumed, and an overall positive vibe in the apartment. Everyone’s dressed up in clothes they feel confident in and more comfortable in front of the camera. I decided to stay in this particular night, but that didn’t stop me from still taking some shots (these kind👉🏾📸).

Had the pleasure of seeing Jidenna perform live during one of my company’s Black History Month celebrations.

One of best friends from college is moving to London in a couple of weeks, so I used her going away brunch as an excuse to use the film that I’ve had in my camera for over 3 months. Shot on my Pentax K1000.

Took a break from studio work to do some exploring with Bee and Dapper Lou in Brooklyn.
