I suggest a deity such as "pepe" to begin with.
Does screaming make anything better? It feels like it does sometimes, but that might just be the placebo effect.

Screaming can, in fact, make anything better. Did you know when you scream for no reason, the void hears you, and answers in kind? You can’t hear it unless you know it’s there, but it’ll feel like a tickle in the back of your mind, or a soft, gentle vibration up your spine. Be careful not to do it too often - those feelings are the Beyond trying to creep into your head.

mcdonald’s?? uhm, no...there’s only one chain here. it sells crow and raven corpses for people who are superstitious. i’m not sure why. there’s one on every street corner, though...
a lot has happened. or, rather, not much has happened. i can’t tell. things are muddled. nyx says i’ll get better now that i’m with her, and she encouraged me to start posting again.
so here i am. posting.
it doesn’t help that the internet was down across the entire town for...a long time. I don’t know. I feel like it’s been years but nyx says it’s less. she says I’m all messed up because i had my book stolen from me all those years ago. she told me a lot, actually.
she says the books are linked to who we are. only certain types of people can live so long without them (most just fade away). only certain types of people can edit them, like she did. she said the reason they took my book away was to ensure fate happened their way; things weren’t originally written like that. but i don’t know. that seems to go against everything fate is, to me. when i said that, she told me fate both was and wasn’t. fate had made her who she was, changing her from someone completely different into the kind of brave person she is now, but there was also a world where fate had acted differently, and the worlds were closer than anyone thinks. (i’m really glad to have her, or else i wouldn’t have worked anything out.)
she says she’s a free agent; she says after a weird event years and years ago where something terrible happened, she’s been like she is now; able to move freely between the strings that bind us, being whatever she wants. i asked her if she thought it was fate that gave her that ability. she said she had no doubt. she said fate had let her move freely; fate had given her the power to act independently, with her own agency. fate was and wasn’t.
i didn’t know what to say, so i just kinda nodded. she gave up after that, and we just hung out until now. i’ve mostly been sleeping. my brain feels like mush. nyx says we’ll get my book back soon, but i don’t know. if athena is there, i don’t know if i can...
