Life Ruiners: (Alan Rickman + Stephen Fry + The Doctor + Mycroft "The Ice Queen" Holmes + Sheldon Cooper = 42 TV Shows at the End of the Universe: Qi. WILTY. Sherlock. Doctor Who. TBBT. The Office. Criminal Minds. Community. Cougar Town.
You know what I love about watching Doctor Who with an intimate knowledge of British television? Like half of all the actors you know are on the show somewhere, somehow. I mean… Dumbledore, Argus Filch, Madame Hooch, Viserys Targaryen, Ser Jorah Mormont, Olenna Tyrell, Greg Lestrade, Gandalf, the dragon from Merlin… :D
I’m too shy to say this on YouTube. But I think it really needs to be said after Chris Kendall (Crabstickz) posted the video ‘Quitting YouTube’, Charlie McDonnell’s (charlieissocoollike) video ‘I am Scared’ and Carrie Fletchers (itswaypastmybedtime) video about her thoughts on Gatherings. We have a serious problem, and if we don’t fix it, we’ll lose out on a website we all love.
Fans are getting too intense. We get so involved in the internet world that we are seriously affecting people’s lives. I understand that we admire them and the internet has given us this medium to gain information or imagine we are involved in their lives. It is an escape. But we really need to take a step back and imagine if people were writing or researching this stuff about ourselves. I know I would be terrified.
The way we comment on Carrie’s video’s saying that her and Alex (Nerimon) are in a relationship is terrible. If they are good for them, if not, it doesn’t matter - that is their business and we need to respect their privacy. They already give us access into their lives by posting the stuff on YouTube. Carrie has previously stated that the way we do this affecting her personal relationships.
Chris Kendall said he found the politics of YouTube self destructive and that he worries that it has become too competitive. Which it has. It is a video sharing website, it shouldn’t be a competition. We shouldn’t compare YouTubers because someone gets more subscribers, or is funnier or better looking. If you don’t like someone’s videos, instead of writing hate comments (even if you class it as ‘constructive criticism’) just leave. No one actually cares what you have to say about this. The actual fans enjoy the videos.
Charlie is a different case altogether, he was so terrified of our opinions that he didn’t want to post on YouTube at all. That isn’t right. We are his subscribers, we are supposed to be his ‘fans’. Why is he scared of our opinions? We shouldn’t be putting his videos down in the comments. Bertie Gilbert (bertiebertg) had serious problems with the hate comments similar to Charlie, they both struggled. On one of his videos Bertie responded to a hate comment with ‘way to kick someone when they are down’.
Open your eyes people. And listen to your parents, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
“The Internet is democracy’s revenge on democracy.” ~Molly Haskell
The internet is like your toilet seat. You'd happily use and dump anything on it until you realized you're in a public toilet, there's someone else in the room and the flush is not working.
The shit isn't mostly the videos, there are a lot of great content creators in Youtube and one can find videos on one's similar interests. The shit comes from all it leaves afterwards. I don't need to describe it to you, if you use youtube, you know what I'm talking about.
There's something about freedom that reduces a person to his primitive beginnings. As if any education one has been taught was forgotten. I personally just don't read/comment on any video anymore. Because it feels pointless for me and I just think that the content creators are not reading them anyways. Try skimming pages of unfiltered comments.
The internet had provided us an opportunity to express ourselves to the world like what I'm doing. I'm getting tired from even writing this stuff. Who cares anyways? This is just another comment. And if you're one of the few who will read this, thanks. If you're going to scrutinize my words afterwards, please don't bother to correct my grammar or any insult aspect of my person. I don't care.
That's how internet affected me; either on things I like or things I don't like, I can't be bothered anymore. Or I chose not to. And others on the other side of the spectrum.
Personally, it's a person talking in his room doing nerdy stuff and people are taking those too seriously. If you hate it that much, go live your own life instead of commenting hatefully on those videos.
Let's get real. Most of youtube is about light entertainment. There are serious stuff but most of it is cat and other animal or whatnot.
This is unfinished. I can't be bothered to type my other thoughts like how youtube needs to revamp its comments section or remove it altogether. Or they can provide a different layout to partnered content providers to filter comments. Or using google plus as a place for discussion instead because the comments are affecting a person's experience before viewing a video. Or not.
And like most personal ramblings on the internet, this is unedited and unfiltered. Long live anarchy. Meh~
Earth on the Encyclopedia Galactica: what the aliens read about us
"This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper." ~TS Eliot, poet from Earth
It is the only planet definitely known in the Solar System that life proliferated. It homed carbon based lifeforms of different species and is mostly inhabited by Humans (Homo sapiens).
Both the mineral resources of the planet and the products of the biosphere contribute resources that are used to support a global Human population. These inhabitants are grouped into about 200 independent sovereign states, which interact through diplomacy, travel, trade, and military action. Human cultures have developed many views of the planet, including its personification as a planetary deity, its shape as flat, its position as the center of the universe, and in the modern Gaia Principle, as a single, self-regulating organism in its own right.
Records suggest that inhabitants of Earth have very few interactions outside their own planet. Space expedition started with the exploration of their own satellite, the Moon. And only in later years were they able to send unmanned vehicles outside their Solar System.
The slow progress in space programs, according to many galactic historians, prevented them in interacting with the already thriving galactic governance. The Imperial Galactic Government to solve the financial Dark Age caused by the centralization of wealth in Magrathea, created plans for development of the outlying regions of the Galaxy which required the building of a hyperspatial express route through some star systems. Earth was one of the planets scheduled for demolition.
The recent restructuring of the government (now Galactic Federation), gave light to an advanced Earth civilization. Contrary to the widely documented Apollo 11 landing on Earth's moon (in Earth year 1969) as the first instance Humans landed on celestial body, it was discovered that the Earth's Mayan civilization were first.
A document was found in the local branch of the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Council in Alpha Centauri indicating that someone from Earth has filed a formal complaint against the hyperspatial express route project that would demolish Earth.
Details of the discovered document indicated the messenger, Gorkon Kerpach, who was sent to Earth to notify them of their impending demolition brought along a person from Earth when he returned.
Apparently, he has fallen in love with a Mayan woman, Angpetu, from Earth and has been married by Earthian rituals. He returned with his new bride in tow in the branch filing a complaint against the demolition of Earth.
Any complaints is decided by playing Brockian Ultra-Cricket among the complainers and the official Brockian Ultra-Cricket team of the department. As it was, no one really witnessed the game but many spectators agree that "it was probably the best Brockian Ultra-Cricket they never saw."
The visitor team from Earth was victorious over the home team with score, 18-24. The victors are given the opportunity to postpone the implementation of the project until any future date that the Finite Probability Machine calculated. On the other hand, had they lost, the result from the Finite Probability Machine will be the date of the implementation whether it is in the past or the present.
The result the Finite Probability Machine gave was 12.21.12. It was a puzzling answer because it doesn't mean anything on the Coordinated Galactic Time and Space Standard. A freeze contract made of liquid ice paper was still given to Angpetu and Kerpach for postponing the Hyperspatial Express route project until 12.21.12.
They traveled to Earth to bring the good news. However, little information about Angpetu and Kerpach survived after they went back to Earth. Galactic historians speculate that although the Mayan calendar has a reminder on the date, it didn't indicate the subject and the knowledge of the importance of the date didn't survived. Many of the galactic historians believe that the frozen freeze contract had already melted.
On December 21, 2012, the planet Earth was demolished by a Vogon fleet headed by Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz of the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Council for a hyperspatial express route. The demolition lasted for 2 minutes. No known Earth species survived.

This is fiction.
I just love how the HGTTG entry on Earth is just Harmless. Then changed to Mostly Harmless.
This entry only takes into account the early part of the first book. This has not yet included that revelation that the Earth was apparently a computer. I might do that but that if I can be bovvered.
Some details like, the the first 3 parts of the book are from Wikipedia.
Technically in the books, the difference in year of the plans and demolition was 50 years Earth years. I took the liberty in adjusting the timeline.
The mentioned HGTTG's government system is part of the books. It transitioned from The Imperial Galactic Government (monarcy) to the Galactic Federation (democracy). The trasition enable Zeephod to be the president without any power.
Gorkon Kerpach is not part of the books. He's an OC and his name came from a name generator in rumandmonkey.com. I inputted 'government space messenger'
Angpetu is also an OC and used the same method. I inputted 'married an alien'
Brockian Ultra-Cricket is a game mentioned in the books but is not used to address complaints.
The Finite Probability Machine, is my alpha version of the Infinite Improbability Drive.
Things went bat-shit crazy after the Brockian Ultra-Cricket. So you can hit me.
I love HGTTG and I apologize to other fans who puked after reading this.
If you're reading this, congratulations, your part of the few who can. There's a high probability that a Babel fish is inside your ear and is feeding on you brain waves. Or your actually an alien baby. Or you were previously abducted by aliens and they had experimented on teaching you their language like Francine Patterson did. Hooray!

Mark Gatiss: Mycroft’s popularity doesn’t surprise me at all. He is, after all, incredibly beautiful, clever and well-dressed. And beautiful. Did I mention that?
Steven Moffat: It’s just a shame Mark is ugly and badly dressed.
