The Spaghetti Project 2013

I started "The Spaghetti Project" last year, October. Instead of celebrating my birthday in a fancy way, we celebrated it in a simple, yet meaningful way. Together with Gerard, Bente, Eugene, Ma'am Angel and yours truly, fed more than twenty needy and hungry people on the streets of Plaza with homemade spaghetti.

This year, The Spaghetti Project is on it's second year! We fed more than 60 needy and hungry people on the said location.

With the help of the following people, this project would never happen.

From a filming technical standpoint...

This was shot on a Canon 650D, mostly with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens.

Phottix Aion Intervalometer was used for the time-lapse videos with a Canon 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 II IS lens.

ORAGON MONUMENT AT PLAZA DE NUEVA CACERES, NAGA CITY

This newly build monument and plaza was for the celebration of the 62th founding anniversary of the City of Naga in 2010.  Plaza de Nueva Caceres commerates the history of Naga City (formerly called Ciudad de Nueva Caceres) starting from its  pre-colonial roots up to the Spanish rule when it became one of the four oldest cities and sits of powers of the Spaniards.  The monument’s inviting surroundings and relaxing plaza, meanwhile, shows how Naga flourishes and becomes one of the modern cities in the country and in the Philippines.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY

I have been taking photographs of many kind of things and kind of people for a long time now.  I realized that, photography for me is not just clicking my camera's shutter button or rotating the exposure wheel.  Well, that's my perception of photography when I first got my camera.  But now, photography for me is an avenue, a tool, a perspective, to appreciate the unappreciated.

There are many kinds of things in this world that we don't usually appreciate, like a teacup you use for drinking your hot coffee in a cold morning, or a pedestrian lane that keeps you safe from getting killed by a bus, the aglet on your shoelace, et cetera, et cetera.  I give such objects a spotlight so many will see and appreciate them.

There are many kinds of people that we don't usually appreciate too, students, professionals, you name it.  I don't take pictures of them just because they told me to or I just wanted to, I don't take pictures of them just because of their beautiful face, their perfect smile, their gorgeous body, or equally proportioned boobs.  I take pictures of them because I appreciate their personality and attitude, these are the ones who makes a person more beautiful than you can ever imagine.  I appreciate them for who they are.

My photos are not that great compared to a "professional" as we label them, but for me, it's great enough for me and others to appreciate.

Now, stop whatever you are doing at this moment, look for simple someone or something and appreciate them.
