   ”Personal assistant? I just started. I wouldn’t expect that even of the higher ranked members but no, it’s not that bad. I’m just bored of sitting at a desk.”

         "Harper, relax. I was kidding. Sure, the paperwork can be a headache,              but some days I'd rather do a mile's stack worth of it instead of                being chased by some freak with a chainsaw- or worse, chasing                  after a certain woman.'                               Not just any woman, but probably the most complex one                               he could have fallen for.

  "Yeah, Moira. —You know Claire and my dad?”

           'Claire is an old friend. I was with her during the Raccoon City               outbreak back in 98'. As for your father, I've heard stories that                 of legend. He's a good man.'

       ” — You mean to tell me you don't have a personal assistant                   for your paperwork? I remember those days, you'll get                    used to it."

        “Tsk, next thing you’re going to say you’ve never considered trying to kill me, right?        I’m certain the idea has crossed your mind. Don’t we all have our dark times —        s i n i s t e r thoughts, DEVIOUS motivations?” Avoiding the question as she so often does, what does the agent expect? A scoff parts her lips and she circles him, as if stalking among her prey. Nervous habit, more likely.       “You’re not going to get all sentimental on me, are you?        I might have to return my focus to the mission if that’s the case.”

      'I don't have to answer that. You know why        it happened once. I'd never do that-'   Yes, he was referring to when las plagas took over; and there was   an actual time he had harmed Ada. A time he'd rather forget. The   thought of harming a woman made him squirm enough, but harming   one he cared for more than he'd like to admit? Y e a h, that hit home.       'Me sentimental? Nah, just courteous and curious. I don't        think we've ever had a conversation this long. I must be        doing something right, or you're losing your mysterious        touch.'

He should know that by now. Besides… Wasn’t this a two way street?

      'I'm not paranoid, but it's just last time you tried        killing myself and my partner then suddenly-        changed your mind. What the hell was that all        about anyway Ada? Jealousy? I promise I'm not        into younger women. I prepared. I'm always prepared.        If I remember correctly, we both saved each others'        asses, but I'm thankful- truly I am.'   And he'd do it again. He it owed it to her- Ada never got as much   credit as she deserved, or perhaps it was because she never stuck   around long enough for him to thank her.
