What are audio equalizers?
chances are you’ve seen something like this before in your Itunes or Windows media player or where ever you listen to music. If you’ve messed around with them, you’ve noticed that they make your music sound different. But what do they do?
Equalizers have a slider for each range of frequencies in a music track. You can move these sliders around to change how loud certain sounds will be.
A normal music track can have from 20 to 20,000 Hertz (waves per second) range of sound, from the lowest bass to the highest screech of static. Here i’ve made a crappy diagram showing you where the instruments of an average rock band would be. If you want to hear more of something, raise the slider higher.
If you just want your music to sound good, then try making it like i’ve drawn. Have the sliders in a ‘U’ shape. this boosts the bass and the treble to make the track sound fuller.
info dump over. happy listening!
