I already relate to Spidey so much
It’s to early for those
i could have done without the ugly cry on a damn monday morning.
Anon to avoid links. Freshman year college, roommate and I HATED each other, long story, not relevant. But the week before Thanksgiving I started getting sick, ignored it, got a lot sicker very quickly. She’s packing to go home for the holiday and bitching to someone one the phone that I’m faking it, not really sick etc. Meanwhile my fever is skyrocketing and I’m starting to hallucinate. I remember telling her that I needed help, needed water, practically begging. She laughs and says ‘if you die can I have your stuff’, and left. I managed to get to my cellphone and realized that the battery is gone (never did find it, she swears she never touched it, so…) Pretty much spaced out after that.
A guy I’d been dating for all of three weeks came by the room to see why I was ditching classes and avoiding him, heard what turned out to be me knocking a lamp over, and broke down the door. One trip to the ER and a week in his apartment (side note, he had the BEST roommates in the world, two guys and a girl welcomed me without hesitation and really took care of me) and I come back to the room. She’s packed up all of my stuff and shoved it into a corner.
My revenge? she had a huge crush on a guy… guess who? yep one of my new boyfriend’s roommates. I told him, also told him she was working up the nerve to approach him. End of semester we’re at a party and she walked up to him and started talking. He’s acting all in to her (Award winning performance) then stopped and really loud “wait aren’t you Mouse’s roommate” and started telling random people there “dude she totally left Mouse to die in that room”. She’s trying to blow it off, saying we’re such good friends. He just gave her one of those ‘scrape it off your shoe’ looks and says “Bullshit. She’s MY friend and I wouldn’t date you if your nipples dripped brew.” He’s a bit loud and by the next semester I think he told everyone on campus the story.
Three years later and I can still remember the look on her face when he said that. Especially once the other drunk partiers started in on her. More So when she realized I was there and listening to it all. I’m now engaged to that ‘new boyfriend’ (he kicked down a door for me, how could I not) and his friend is going to be his best man. Roommate? Transferred after freshman year ended. B-bye now.

I’ve been sitting on this news for so, so long. More than any of my books, this is the one I long to see on the big screen, and it’s also the one that has had the most aggressive interest since publication. Fingers crossed that it makes it to filming.
Full story at the Hollywood Reporter here.
I heard that the Scorpio Races will be turned into a movie, and that it's currently in development. Is that true? Is it actually going to be a movie?
Dear fairchilds,
Yes. It is currently in development at Focus Features, Katzsmith producing, with Matt Sobel directing a screenplay adapted by Jack Thorne. They’ve kept me fairly looped in so far, enough to be very cheery about the direction Matt’s taking the project.
You can feel free to remind Focus how excited you are for the film and just how many of your friends you would bring to see it in theaters. (They’re on Twitter here.) They probably already know, but it would warm their hearts regardless.

so bomb
Have you ever thought about a movie of The Raven Boys? Would you like it? Ps: I love your books ❤️
Dear whowonder4lands,
No, I would not like for there to be a movie of the Raven Boys.
I would like a TV show. I would like it to become so popular that people grow to hate the music that accompanies the opening credits. I would like people to point at their friends and say “you’re so Adam.” I would like producers to ask me if they can use my Camaro in the show and me to sniffily say “It’s the wrong color.” I would like babies to be named Gansey and brides to wear Persephone wigs to their weddings. I would aliens to tune in from space and chatter about it to each other over their telekinetic intercom systems: “In the books,” they say, “the Camaro was orange, not blue.” “Oh,” bleeps the other alien, “it’s because they convinced the author to let them use hers, which was blue.”

favorite character ronan lynch
Just lie, I told myself. Say anyone but Ronan. They’re all going to expect you to say Ronan. You want to be predictable? Craft an elegant lie!
But I couldn’t.
My real favorite in this series is the dynamic — the spaces between all of the characters — but if I have to choose, it’s Ronan. I’m sure the internet believes that he’s my favorite because he is the most like me (which, yes, fine, everyone likes stories about themselves), or because he is the “coolest” (I’m so pleased that a sullen gay boy who loves small animals and wants to live on a rural farm forever is the current cultural standard for cool). But really, he would have always been my favorite because he is the oldest. Not age-wise — he’s the second youngest, actually, of the group — but storywise.
When I began writing these books as a teen, the story was Ronan’s story alone. There was no Gansey, no Adam, no Blue. No Welsh kings. There was the farm, the dreaming father, the dreamed mother, the dreaming son. What was the world to you if you were an impossible thing? What did you do with society if society didn’t know what to do with you? It was only after multiple scrambling iterations over nearly a decade that the rest of the Raven Cycle’s sprawling appeared, subsuming Ronan’s plotline.
But even now — he’s still the heart. Ronan’s magic is still the oldest and most unchanging. During the writing of the current version of the Raven Cycle, every piece of magic in the series still turned its face to the rules of his magic for its marching orders. It will be weird to say goodbye to him at the end of this.
(Lover tells me, “oh, please, I still have to live with Ronan everyday.”)
my inbox wants to know who is youngest — Gansey is the only one who hasn’t hit 18 by the end of The Raven King.
